Why Unique Businesses Struggle to Stand Out

from Marketing a Unique Business · host DSM

Today, we’re talking about 2 reasons why unique businesses fail to stand out. When you start your unique venture, there is this expectation that you have brought something that the world has been waiting for, but soon you realize that inasmuch as you have something that stands out, it needs to stand out to customers too, not just as a good/service. While working with several entrepreneurs across industries; I’ve noticed that there are 2 major reasons why unique businesses in general struggle to stand out. 1. They don’t promote, they expect to be discovered. There is this belief among some business owners that if you have a good product and good service, customers will come. This doesn’t always happen; customers need to know that you exist for them to come. They need to know you have a great product and great service for them to come and experience it for themselves. Social and digital media, WhatsApp, Networking Events, Flier distribution are a simple way to get started. Let people know that you have something that can help them! Then they will come and see it for themselves. 2. Promoting like an ordinary business. For those that do promote, some do not promote their business according to what makes it unique. This makes it hard for customers to distinguish them and other businesses. E.g. If you provide choice cereals from Madagascar with high protein content, its important to mention that. Mention what makes your business unique when you promote. I know that there could be some discomfort when it comes to explaining to people who don’t understand, but that’s great since you’re educating them on why your solution works best. It can be a struggle to articulate your key differentiator in the beginning but youll get it with time. Besides, you can also talk to us since that our specialty. Link in the description. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
