WLM Podcast #119: A Trilogy of Trilogy-talk (A Matt solo-pod)

Oscar is "on assignment" this week so I'm on my own. Just a man, a microphone, and a whole lotta thoughts. Since the multiplex has run dry of worthy content (as it is wont to do every year during the last breath dog days) I've recently retreated into familiar "comfort food" at home: Rewatching the first season of TRUE DETECTIVE, AFI 100 Years 100 Movies CBS specials, and an impromptu marathon of 3 of the most beloved film trilogies of all time. You know what they are. You don't need me to patronize you by listing them. All 3 trilogies feature installments that either recently turned 30 or will in the next 12 months. So I figured there was no time like the present to reflect on 9 films that have meant so much to me in my 30ish years of living. I can't remember a time when these films weren't dear to me. And I can't imagine a time when they won't be. ​They're fresh in my mind so I decided to wax philosophical and nostalgic about them. This is the first time I've ever done this on my own. Here goes nothin'...
