Aus Der Unsichtbare eine originelle Mischung aus modernem Horror mit Sci-Fi-Elementen und psychologischer Komponente auf Basis einer toxischen Beziehung zu machen, war Regisseur Leigh Whanell 2020 noch gut gelungen. Aber nun Wolf Man, den Werwolf der Universal Monster, im Remake in so etwas wie Die Fliege im Wald umzuwandeln… das ist eher zum Heulen. Obwohl die Idee an sich, genau wie ein erkennbares Bestreben nach praktischen Body-Horror-Effekten, anders umgesetzt, wohl Potenzial gehabt hätte.
