Sahil Om Madan, an electronic engineer by profession who gave his valuable 8 years to Siemens and an enthusiast athlete living with type 1 diabetes from 2011. Sahil has got a charismatic aura and the reason behind that is his connection and vibes that he gels up so nicely who are passionate about the cause and additionally are also living with type 1 diabetes. The year he was diagnosed, social media wasn’t that active and it took him a few years to connect with a few people living with type 1 diabetes but not from his country. This was a time he thought the necessity of being vocal about his condition and since then he hasn’t stopped. Sahil shares his levers of success who has the courage to find his own voice and makes a distinctive contribution wherever he goes.His inclination and enthusiasm for fitness and sports comes with an incident that he shares with us. During his early diagnosis he was in the hospital because of DKA and there he read in a health magazine a line, “PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REGULATES BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS”. He wasn’t from a fitness background but found the need to train himself for his own and also the type 1 diabetes community. Since then, he has been constantly working on coaching people with type 1 diabetes on their fitness goals. He has recently done a survey and shared the same with ISPAD where he found out the number of people actually involved in any sort of workout.
