Send us Fan MailToday, we have the pleasure of sitting down with Trevor J, a prolific and well-regarded film photographer.During Trevor J's visit to New York City, he stayed with Jake Take and me in our Bushwick apartment, and we spent some time shooting film and talking about life in the streets. Trevor J was in town for New York City NFT week, where he sells his NFTs on his website, trevorjphoto.com. We discussed his many passions, including beat-based music under the name Trevor J, where he has released around 26 albums.Trevor J shared with us how music was his first artistic creation, and his first album happened to be a suicide note. However, once he found out that these songs resonated with a younger generation and gave them a sense of belonging and hope, he decided to connect with others, kept his music going, and stayed creative for his fans and artistic expression.Aside from music, Trevor J is also huge in the graffiti community. He constantly travels around with spray paint and markers, finding dope places to throw his art around. We talked about the power of graffiti as a form of self-expression and the importance of leaving your mark on the world.During our conversation, we also dove deep into Trevor J's love for film photography. He shared with us how film photography has taught him to appreciate the little things, to slow down and be more intentional with his shots. His photos capture the raw beauty of the streets, the people, and the culture that make up the city.Trevor J is a true artist, with a passion for self-expression and a talent for capturing the essence of life through his lens.
