A high-achieving graduate of the University of Cape Town and founder of the International Association of Student Surgical Societies, Dr. Chapman’s diverse career spans high-acuity emergency medicine in South Africa to serving as Chief of Emergency in rural Alberta. With additional expertise in GP oncology and point-of-care ultrasound, he brings a wealth of experience in managing medical complexity and resource-limited care to his current role at Surrey Memorial Hospital. Today, he remains dedicated to medical education and quality improvement, blending technical rigour with the compassionate approach modeled by his grandfather.

Currently a Senior Lab Instructor at UNBC and Assistant Professor of Teaching at UBC, she holds key leadership roles in Faculty Development and Anatomy. Her diverse research spans cochlear implants, generative AI in assessment, and the history of women in surgery. Dedicated to teaching first- and second-year students, she focuses on creating structured, humane, and joyful learning environments across the medical curriculum.
