2017 Yerushah Lecture: 'Legacy, Prognostication and Jews' with Dr Diana Lipton
Legacy, Prognostication and Jews:How the Torah's emphasis on inheritance and descendants helped create a culture that prizes plans, visions and dreams.The Cambridge Faculty of Divinity is pleased to announce that the 2017 Yerushah Lecture will take place at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, 17 May, in the Runcie Room, Faculty of Divinity, West Road. Dr Diana Lipton (Rothberg International School, Hebrew University of Jerusalem), will speak on ‘Legacy, Prognostication and Jews: How the Torah's emphasis on inheritance and descendants helped create a culture that prizes plans, visions and dreams.’ All are welcome, and refreshments will be served following the lecture.Diana Lipton was a Fellow of Newnham College, Cambridge and then Reader in Hebrew Bible and Jewish Studies at King’s College, London. Since 2011, she has lived in Jerusalem and taught Bible to students aged 19 to 91. Her most recent book was a commentary written with Paul M. Joyce on the use of Lamentations in liturgy, the arts, p
