3 More Weeks

The world is a bit strange right now, but there’s plenty of people lining up to say that this is going to change the way we live our lives forever. And strangely enough, most of us seem to agree. According to a YouGov poll, only 9% of Britons want life to return to normal after the pandemic is over. They say the like the community spirit, and they’ve seen a return of wildlife. While the only beneficiaries I’ve seen locally are rats, maybe they’re right. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

    Ep03: Work

Work is one of the most drastically affected area of our lives. Many of us are continuing to work, but doing it from home, some of us have stopped going altogether (and are being paid, at least in part, by the Government for it) and some of us have a new status of "key worker". Will we ever return to regularly commuting to the office? Will we keep our new-found admiration for "key workers" ... or will it all just go back to being the same as it was? My guests: Dan Slee is co-founder of Comms2Point0. He's freelance, with years of experience working from home - and its pitfalls; while Dan Gough is a creative UX designer who has travelled the world while working. No guessing who's on which side of the argument for this edition.  This episode was recorded on 25 April.

    Ep02: Education

Schools are closed, work is at home (and so is the training) and we've all developed a passion for learning new skills. What impact is lockdown having on education, and which bits will stick? My guests? Erica Farmer is a creative digital learning consultant who runs the agency WelcomeTwo (www.welcometwo.co.uk) and specialises in creating online learning, coaching and development programmes. Dave Kelly is an assistant head teacher of a school in the Midlands, with more than 15 years' work in education.  This episode was recorded on 22 April.

While the only beneficiaries I’ve seen locally are rats, maybe they’re right. But how will this change our lives? In this 6 part series, with friends and people who know their stuff, I’ll discuss some of the predictions there are about how the future might be different, and whether they would be an improvement.
