    We are back in 1980s LA with our favourite cop duo Riggs and Murtaugh! This time they are going up against South African Diplomats who are using their diplomatic immunity to commit all sorts of crimes. Can Riggs and Murtaugh come out on top and revoke the diplomatic immunity or will they meet a sticky end like all of Riggs love interests. In this episode you can expect lots of practical stunts, lots of memorable quotes and a great rant about drive thru food.

    All Ralphie wants for Christmas is an Air Rifle, but everyone keeps saying he's going to shoot his eye out! It's his job to try change their minds. But does he? On this weeks episode you can expect a handful of christmas cheer, the worst word you could ever say and a bit of crispy duck for good measure!

    An adaptation of a Steven King Novel. We've done plenty of these before! This week it's The Running Man with Arnold Schwarzenegger at the helm. Releasing this now feel quite well timed with the recent release of Edgar Wright's 'The Running Man' and we definitely have a preference. So follow us down into this dystopian game show where we discuss the many many many one liners, Arnolds interesting acting and our very limited WWE knowledge...

    Episode 68 - Beverly Hills Cop 2 (1987)

    This week we return to Beverly Hills to catch up with our old friend Axel Foley. In his second trip to California he is investigating the alphabet crimes which took a personal turn. From this episode you can expect bigger budget action, some very funny returning characters and maybe a little to much of Eddie Murphy talking constantly. (Sorry for the lateness of this episode)

    Episode 67 - Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982)

    Are you ready for another teen film? Well you better be as this week we are reviewing Fast Times at Ridgemont High. This is another classic 80s teen comedy with iconic scenes as well as some hard hitting ones too. Get ready for a rollercoaster of emotions as this film includes some fairly uncomfortable scenes, a surfer dude who loves taking his shirt off and a small appearance from Nicolas Cage.

    Episode 66 - Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

    An absolute classic. The adventure film of all adventure films. This is Raiders of the Lost Ark, the start of a legendary character named Indiana Jones. If you've never seen this film then what are you doing? You're truly missing out! This film has action, adventure, archaeological digs and much more.

    Episode 65 - Risky Business (1983)

    When a teenagers parents go away for the weekend, a series of events leads to their son turning their house into a brothel. You would be right to think that took a drastic leap, wait until you hear what else happens. In this episode you can expect some iconic underpants dancing, a tiny little Tom Cruise and some scenes which you definitely don't want to watch with your parents...like seriously, you've be warned.

    Episode 64 - Christine (1983)

    A killer car. Enough said really about this weeks review of John Carpenter's Christine. Expect some, but not as much as you wanted of a killer car, in a killer car film.

    Episode 63 - The NeverEnding Story (1984)

    Today we review a film about a book, which is about thoughts and imagination which potentially are happening in real life or in a child's head. It's hard to tell. Anyway, this is The NeverEnding Story (except don't worry, this podcast episode does end and you don't have to listen to us forever). From this episode you can except a very tragic death of an animal, some really good practical effects and a dragon who says he likes kids...lets leave it there.

    Episode 62 - Lethal Weapon (1987)

    This week we are taking a stroll down the streets of LA and meeting up with Sgt Riggs and Sgt Murtaugh to solve a mysterious murder linked with a larger criminal enterprise. This has got to be one of the best action/cop movies ever made and a personal favourite in general. From this weeks episode you can expect an overly interested therapist, a crazy but not crazy cop and some great one liners such as "I guess we need to register you as a lethal weapon."

    Episode 61 - Beetlejuice (1988)

    What do you think happens when you die? In this film it's different for everyone. For Barbara and Adam, their death meant trying to scare away a family who moved into their home. It may not go so well for them so they hire Betelgeuse...and then it gets worse. In this review of Beetlejuice you can expect some spooky bed sheets, an abrupt death and maybe a slight inspiration from dune.

    Episode 60 - E.T (1982)

    Today we have a visitor from another world who just wants to phone home. Yes, that's right, we are reviewing E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial! Get your bicycle baskets ready as we float away across the moon right into this fun family movie that is by far one of the most well known 80s films. From this episode you can expect maybe evil but maybe not scientists, the discussion on if this film stands the test of time and potential names for the film if it wasn't called E.T!

    Cinema Club Special: Pixels (2015)

    You may be thinking this isn't an 80s film... And you would be right! Welcome to our first Cinema Club Special where we review basically whatever we want! For our first special we are taking a look at Pixels with a special guest. This film is all about 80s video game nostalgia and we are here for it! So this week you can expect Adam Sandler and all his friends, Sean Bean being extremely English and some pretty weird things to do with Q*bert. (Apologies in advance if the audio quality isn't as good as usual, there was extensive technical issues and everything possible has been done to fix them. Trust me, it sounded much worse than it does now!)

    What's that? It can't be? Oh wait! It is! We are back! After way too many weeks away we are finally back and for our first episode we are reviewing The Karate Kid! So get ready to wax on wax off, paint the fence and of course make your best crane kick pose!

    It's time for another teen film! This week we are taking a look at Pretty In Pink which is another film written by John Hughes. In this weeks episode you can expect many crossovers from other films we have reviewed, quite a loose plot and an absolute legend named Duckie!

    Episode 57 - Short Circuit (1986)

    When a robot is struck by lightning it gains the ability to think for itself and ends up going on a big adventure trying to escape its creators. From this weeks episode on Short Circuit you can expect a police academy reunion, a very stereotypical Indian accent and a few creepy robot moments.

    Episode 56 - Dead Poets Society (1989)

    This film really took us by surprise at how amazing it is! The message it sends is timeless and we've never had such a deep conversation on the podcast before. In this weeks episode you can expect a really thoughtful conversation about the themes brought up in the film, talk on how amazing Robin Williams is and we contemplate whether poetry is good or not.

    We went into this film with very little expectations and are now very shocked with how much we liked it! So this week, join us on a trip round creepy German guys house where we can have a slice of pie and relax as the town gets taken over bu some good old monsters!

    This week we think it's time for a good Action-Fantasy classic! Join us on a journey to Scotland and beyond as we review Highlander! From this weeks episode you can expect the most Scottish guy in the film to play someone from Spain, some absolutely massive swords that I don't know how get past airport security and some of the coolest one liners ever! "There can be only one"

    We're back! This week we are taking a nice little stroll into the magical forest to meet all the Totoro's! In this episode you can expect talk on the creepy but cute cat bus, the absolutely amazing animation and a lot of bad pronunciation of Japanese names )sorry).

    Episode 52 - Evil Dead 2

    This week we are reviewing a film we never thought we would. After our experience with the first Evil Dead we didn't think we'd be back anytime soon, but here we are, and it's maybe only slightly better than expected. In this weeks episode you can expect the quickest end to a relationship probably ever, some of the dumbest characters ever seen and a literal castle...yes that's right, a castle.

    This week we bring you an episode where the guest doesn't even like the film! We thought doing Dune now would be fitting since part 2 of the modern dune films has just released. In this episode you can expect a space pug, casual nuclear warfare and a baby with more knowledge than you could ever think possible!

    Are you ready for this weeks action packed, adrenaline fuelled, truck driving, arm wrestling joy ride of a movie?     Episode 49 - Planes, Trains and Automobiles

    Back to our old friend John Hughes this week with Planes, Trains and Automobiles. It's a bit of a switch from his teen films we have liked so much, will this reflect on our thoughts? From this weeks episode you can expect wet socks, a lot of talk about thanksgiving without showing the dinner and a lengthy conversation about if it would be possible to use a plane, train and automobile in 90 minutes.

    Episode 48 - The Fog (1980)

    Bit of a spooky one this week. Another Horror by John Carpenter that focuses on religious aspects to make it just that little bit more chilling. Apart from that, in this weeks episode you can expect a lot of characters who are as thick as the fog, a backstory that seems like a more interesting movie and ZOMBIES......actually I don't think they are zombies, don't really know what they are.

    Episode 47 - Footloose (1984)

    For some reason we've been putting this one off for almost a year but it's finally time to cut loose and review Footloose! Come with us too a small town where dancing is illegal and one city boy plans to change that. You can expect some classic 80s music, the slowest game of chicken on the vehicles you would least expect and a lot (and I mean a lot) of DANCING!

    Episode 46 - Sex, Lies and Videotape (1989)

    Now this week is a strange one. As you may be able to tell from the title this film is about 3 specific things. And in that sense the film is definitely telling the truth as there is literally nothing going on expect people talking about sex, lies or funnily enough videotape. You can expect an extended conversation about 'garbage' with a therapist, some of the blandest acting ever seen and your two hosts a bit out of their minds because of the unusual recording time of this episode.

    Episode 45 - Police Academy (1984)

    This week we are looking at the classic comedy from the 80s that is Police academy! It may not have aged greatly but there is definitely some redeemable qualities that make this film fun to watch. Expect a Christmas song in January, an unfortunate incident with a horse and a romantic relationship with absolutely no development.

    Episode 44 - The Breakfast Club (1985)

    This week we are diving back into the world of teen films as we watch one of John Hughes most memorable movies, The Breakfast Club! From this episode you can expect our first guest in over ten episodes, some very serious topics and one of the most iconic ending freeze frames of all time.

    Episode 43 - Diner (1982)

    In todays episode we review the 1982 film, Diner. This is an authentic friendship tale about a group of young men just living their lives. You can expect some of our worst jokes yet, the most casually planned affair ever and some strange popcorn placement.

    Episode 42 - The Transformers: The Movie

    You've got the touch! You've got the power! As this week we are taking a look at the animated transformers film following the characters from the original TV series. Expect all your favourite characters to die, no time to pause between action sequences and probably one of the best soundtracks ever.

    Episode 41 - Die Hard (1988)

    For our final Christmas adventure we are taking a look at a more controversial film. This is not because of any offensive content but rather its classification as a Christmas film. There's only one film it could be...Die Hard! Take a trip to Nakatomi Plaza with us and John McClane where you can expect weird plane travel tips, the most oblivious limo driver and more than enough festive F-Bombs for the entire year! Also, Merry Christmas Everyone.

    Episode 40 - National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)

    Back with another Christmas film! This week we take a drive out to the forest with Chevy Chase to pick out the best tree, as we watch National Lampoon's Christmas vacation. From this episode you can expect way to many Christmas lights, lots of Chevy Chase and some crispy cooked cat.

    Episode 39 - Scrooged (1988)

    For our second Christmas special we are taking a look at a modern take on a classic story. That Classic story is A Christmas Carol and we are watching Scrooged! Join us on this adventure to the past and the future where you can expect a barking human, possibly the worst Christmas present of all time and the most happy reaction to being held at gun point.

    Episode 38 - Santa Clause The Movie (1985)

    Ho! Ho! Ho! It is time for the first of our Christmas specials! There's no better way to start than with a good old movie about Santa (although there isn't a whole lot of Santa}. From this weeks episode you can expect a cartoonishly evil villain, a whole lot of elf puns and the quickest Santa Clause origin story ever.

    Episode 37 - Howard the Duck (1986)

    Join us on earth where Howard the Duck has landed and is getting into all sorts of trouble! Get ready for this George Lucas produced Marvel film which includes an awkward relationship between a duck and a human, a scientist who looks like his body is boiling and duck breasts.....no seriously.

    Episode 36 - Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)

    In this weeks episode we review one of our favourite films alongside a very special guest. This episode is extremely important to us as it is not only an amazing film we are looking at but for us it shows how far we have come in the pursuit of film and the analysis of them. From this extra long episode you can expect quite a lengthy conversation about a teenagers bedroom, discussion of stereotypical 80s high school groups and many memorable quotes.

    Episode 35 - Do the Right Thing (1989)

    It's hard to put this weeks film into words. Out of the many movies we have covered, this review of 'Do the Right Thing' definitely goes deeper into the symbolism of the events and characters shown in the film. But we like to keep things light, so this week, get ready for Gus Fring if he did the meth and one of the best names of any character ever (Mister Señor Love Daddy).

    Episode 34 - 1984 (1984)

    This week we are taking somewhat of a depressing turn into the dystopian world of George Orwell's 1984. This film looks at a version of the world that has been taken over by propaganda and where no ones thoughts are safe anymore. Expect talk on sewer rats, politics and Trigger from Only Fools and Horses.

    Episode 33 - The Shining (1980)

    The Shining is seen as one of the best examples of psychological horror ever, so we decided to watch it and judge for ourselves. Will we agree with most people who love it or funnily enough Stephen King who hates it. Expect talk on amazing acting performances, author critiques and Harry's Halloween voice.

    Episode 32 - Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988)

    When a spaceship that looks like a circus tent lands on Earth, out of it come the Killer Klowns, ready to torment and kill anyone who they come across. In this episode expect talk on candy floss testicles, acidic pies and a lot of clown names.

    On our third spooky adventure we are taking a dip into Crystal Lake and reviewing Friday the 13th on Friday the 13th (I can't believe it either). Join us for talk on strip monopoly, murderers weird hiding places and Kevin Bacons neck!

    One cabin, 5 friends and a really weird book. This week we are taking a look at one of the most famous 'video nasties' to ever exist! That's right, we are reviewing the Evil Dead. In this episode of Sam Raimi madness expect talk on whether a blender is a priority item to take on a trip to a creepy cabin, the practicality of writing in blood and a very strange tree...

    In our first scary movie of October we take a look at Wes Cravens A Nightmare on Elm Street. Get ready to follow Nancy up the porridge filled stairs as we talk about bottomless baths, how much blood is in Johnny Depp's body and the insanely short amount of time it takes a 15 year old girl to trap her house home alone style.

    Episode 28 - Escape from New York (1981)

    A future over run with crime. So much crime in fact that the entire island of Manhattan has to be made into a prison. It is into this prison that Airforce One crashes and the president is captured and taken hostage. Join us, as we follow Snake on a solo rescue operation to find the most important man in America,. as this week we review Escape from New York. Expect our longest episode yet, lots of talk on Dick Warlock and a massive slag.

    This week on the 80s Cinema Club we find ourselves in 1984 where an almost unstoppable covert killing machine is hunting down Sarah Connor. She believes herself to be an ordinary person but she is actually the mother of the saviour of humanity, she just didn't know it yet. Listen to our review of the Terminator as we discuss magically shrinking clothes, stop motion murder robots and the shift patterns of bin men!

    When Axel Foleys best friend is killed he must leave Detroit and travel to Beverly Hills to find the killers and avenge his friend. A long the way he meets up with an old friend and has some fun with police officers that act as basically just comic relief. Join us this week as we review Beverly Hills Cop!
