"Jinkies!" We're all snowed in! No seriously, our Omaha HQ is currently in a winter weather advisory until later tomorrow. You know what that means?  STOUTS! ANNNNNDDD maybe just a day in to watch the new Scooby-Doo inspired Velma show. This week, we explore the history of Scooby-Doo, talk about our favorite snow day activity, and drink a Valentine's themed beer from Copper Kettle Brewing Company out of Denver, Colorado.

WE went ahead and pulled this from the Maine Beer Co.'s website:   "Lunch is a special whale that has been spotted off the Maine coast since 1982. She has what looks like a bite taken out of her fin, which adds to her unique character. We dedicate this beer to her determination and persistence. Keep on swimming!"   This beer also shares a fun slogan that our Founder and President Steve Ryan likes to use, "Do What's Right."

On this episode of A Beer with Atlas, we partake in some "Chips and Salsa" and talk all about THE BIG GAME! Except, when we say "Chips and Salsa," we're talking about a cream ale brewed by Cogstone Brewing Company out of Colorado. Yes, this beer DOES in fact taste like Chips and Salsa. It has actually won some awards too!   Side question:   Who do you think is going to win the big game on February 12th? Eagles? Chiefs? Who ya got?

A few weeks back, Rich and his wife traveled to Nashville for the fist time ever and brought a few beers back for us.  Since this was his first time in Nashville, he had to phone a friend, Kyle "The Bearded Wonder" Newsome, and ask him where to find the best brewery in town.  We imagine the dialogue went a little something like this: Rich - "Hey Kyle, where do I find good beers in Nashville, Tennessee?" Kyle - "There are a few breweries in Nashville, but Southern Grist is the only 'Tenn-I-See.'" Rich & Kyle - "HAHAHAHAHA"

For the new year, we open up a Brett-Aged Belgian-Style Golden by Blacklist Brewing Company out of Duluth, Minnesota. If you're in the area, we highly suggest you try Blacklist Brewing, and if you have the chance, try this beer.

What's your holiday choice beer? Ours? Scaldis Noël by Brasserie Dubuisson Frères sprl - A 12% Holiday Spiced Belgian Strong. Yes. 12% Happy Holidays, everyone! :)

John C. Fremont was a man who had a ton of things named after him for a multitude of reasons. He liked to do things his way. Listen to the resident atlas beer guys as they talk about his adventures and sip on this 13% ABV beer from Fremont Brewing Company.

About 2.5 hrs north of Mitchell, SD and 3 hrs south of Fargo, ND lays the smaller town of Aberdeen, SD. Gary, who is Atlas MedStaff's Brand Content Editor, used to live there. Not too long ago, he went back to Aberdeen to visit and brought back One-Legged Brewery's "Prairie Pride Lager." When we say "you could drink this beer ALL DAY." - We mean it.

Attention all Travel Nurses, techs, therapists, etc. in North Carolina! We have must-try brewery in your area. The High Point, NC area to be a bit more specific. Right between Raleigh and Charlotte lays Paddled South Brewing. On this episode, we try their Nutty Blonde, a peanut butter and honey blonde ale.  Shout out to Owner and Head Brewer David Nissen for the hospitality and great beer! :)

On this episode, we drink "Basic Becky" and "Basic Rebecca" brewed by Prairie Artisan Ales. As we drink through both beers, we talk all about spooky stories and true crime! This one is a fun one! Especially if you are familiar with the legendary cookie company from St. Louis, Dad's Cookie Co. Listen as Brian and Rich talk about the history of Dad's Cookie Co. as well as the history of smoked beers. 

Seward is a small town in Nebraska with a population of somewhere just under 10,000 people. Every year, they throw a Fourth of July Festival and it has grown so big, that the town was Federally recognized as "The Fourth of July City." The festival is SO BIG, that over 45,000 people attend each year.   But it's October, who cares???   Well, according to TripAdvisor, when it's not The Fourth of July, Bottle Rocket Brewing is the number 1 thing to do while in Seward, NE. So, to close out our 2022 Oktoberfest series, we're drinking their version of the well-known style, Oktoberfest.

Week 2 of this year's Oktoberfest episodes takes us to Empyrean Brewing Company in Lincoln, Nebraska. It's there that they brew "Aries Marzen," an Oktoberfest that is unfiltered, unpasteurized, and like it says on the bottle, "conceived under the fiery sign of the ram then cellared all season for Oktoberfest celebration." Then, Brian has some cool stuff about his childhood memories of the brewery and what it has become today.  Sit back, relax, and crack one open this Oktoberfest season with us!

Scott Avett of The Avett Brothers as we talk to Brian Thompson, the mastermind behind Stealing Oceans.   He is also one of the masterminds behind brewing this blueberry beer with Shipyard Brewing Company that is based on a beer study by a German scientist about how music can change the composition of the beer as well as enhance the taste of the beer while listening to certain music. We and Total Wine & More loved the concept, so we drank it and Total Wines is selling it in all 250 stores.   Shout out to Brian from #StealingOceans and his team for providing the beer, the music, and all of the good times.

Help! How do you pronounce "Haandbryggeriet?" This Washington D.C. solar-powered beer comes to us from our favorite namesake, Atlas Brew Works. Yes, we know, WE HAVE done a beer from this brewery before, but this time, we scored a Damn good IPA... No, really... the beer is called "Damn Good IPA," and boy does it live up to its name.  2 Fun Facts: 1. This beer was only sold to their beer members. 2. None of us beer gurus at Atlas MedStaff are members. So how did we get this beer? Listen and find out!
