A Beer with Atlas

A Beer with Atlas is a weekly podcast that highlights beers and breweries across the country. Over the years, we've discovered that our traveling nurses love visiting breweries during their down time. Ironically, we like to visit breweries during our down time. Each week we will feature one brewery suggested by our nurses. We'll try their beer, talk about the brewery, talk about the styles of beer, and have a lot of fun. Cheers!

    Seward is a small town in Nebraska with a population of somewhere just under 10,000 people. Every year, they throw a Fourth of July Festival and it has grown so big, that the town was Federally recognized as "The Fourth of July City." The festival is SO BIG, that over 45,000 people attend each year.   But it's October, who cares???   Well, according to TripAdvisor, when it's not The Fourth of July, Bottle Rocket Brewing is the number 1 thing to do while in Seward, NE. So, to close out our 2022 Oktoberfest series, we're drinking their version of the well-known style, Oktoberfest.

    Listen to the new song "Stars on the Ceiling" by Stealing Oceans Feat. Scott Avett of The Avett Brothers as we talk to Brian Thompson, the mastermind behind Stealing Oceans.   He is also one of the masterminds behind brewing this blueberry beer with Shipyard Brewing Company that is based on a beer study by a German scientist about how music can change the composition of the beer as well as enhance the taste of the beer while listening to certain music. We and Total Wine & More loved the concept, so we drank it and Total Wines is selling it in all 250 stores.   Shout out to Brian from #StealingOceans and his team for providing the beer, the music, and all of the good times.

    This Washington D.C. solar-powered beer comes to us from our favorite namesake, Atlas Brew Works. Yes, we know, WE HAVE done a beer from this brewery before, but this time, we scored a Damn good IPA... No, really... the beer is called "Damn Good IPA," and boy does it live up to its name.  2 Fun Facts: 1. This beer was only sold to their beer members. 2. None of us beer gurus at Atlas MedStaff are members. So how did we get this beer? Listen and find out!
