I took a step back from doing this podcast to take a break and other reasons. Now I’m back, when I can and when I want to share with you “I’m back!” I also share some new tips in your job search.

Why is going into a trade or craft still considered as something bad or “beneath” parents’ children and people? My thoughts on going into the blue collar workforce and families being okay with their bit or girl wants to play with Tonka trucks as adults.

The holiday season is the best time to apply for jobs. People who are on leave or vacation don’t even want to look at their computers or think about applying for jobs during the chaos of the holiday season. Take advantage!

When I help someone with a resume, up front I’m going into it as a 50/50 responsibility between the client and me. This is because I don’t know anything about you so there’s a lot of information I need to help the client’s resume look good.

In this episode, I talk about LinkedIn and how using the search function can grow your network, but it also helps you learn from connections or others who you may follow. LinkedIn is a great tool for high school students who are trying to want to start networking with their future college professors or fellow students.

I just had my 15-year anniversary and wanted to share how I entered the federal government through the PALACE Acquire Program.

With students and employers virtually working, there are a multitude of things that can go wrong with connectivity or using a specific platform. You need to be proactive in your responsibilities when interviewing. If your computer is not allowing for accessibility to a certain platform, you need to figure out what to do before the interview. Do test runs. So more test runs. Don’t ask employer to change platforms for you. It’s your responsibility to figure out how to use what they use.

I expected doing my first podcast perfectly; say everything perfectly, not mess up. That wasn’t the case at all! I couldn’t say what I wanted in a short 40 second trailer because I had a plan for everything I wanted to cover. I highly recommend using a script for your trailer and for important podcasts that ensures you talk about everything you want., at least in the beginning until you get the hang of it. Also, if you have pets or kids, wait until they are asleep!
