গ্রাম আমাদের জীবনের একটি শান্ত, নিসর্গময় এবং প্রাণবন্ত অধ্যায়। গ্রামের প্রকৃতি এমন এক নিঃশব্দ সৌন্দর্যে ভরপুর, যা শহরের কোলাহলে হারিয়ে যাওয়া আত্মাকে নতুন করে জাগিয়ে তোলে। সবুজ ধানের ক্ষেত, মেঠো পথ, পাখির কলতান, নদীর কলকল ধ্বনি, এবং বিস্তীর্ণ মাঠ—সবকিছু মিলিয়ে গ্রামের প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্য এক অপার সৌন্দর্যের উৎস। এটি শুধু চোখের আরাম নয়, হৃদয়ের প্রশান্তিরও প্রতীক। ভোরের সৌন্দর্য গ্রামে দিনের শুরু হয় সূর্য ওঠার অনেক আগেই। ভোরের প্রথম কুয়াশাচ্ছন্ন আলো যখন চারপাশে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে, তখন মনে হয় প্রকৃতি যেন নিজের নতুন দিনের সাজে সজ্জিত হচ্ছে। গ্রামের মাঠে-মাঠে কুয়াশা মেঘের মতো ভেসে বেড়ায়, গাছপালা থেকে শিশিরের ফোঁটা ঝরে পড়ে ঘাসে। দূরে কোনো পাখি ডেকে ওঠে—"কাক, শালিক, দোয়েল"—এদের মধুর সুরে যেন প্রাকৃতিক সংগীত সৃষ্টি হয়। গ্রামের মানুষ তখন গরু নিয়ে মাঠে যায়, কিংবা হাঁস-মুরগি ছেড়ে দেয় উঠোনে। ভোরবেলার শান্ত পরিবেশ ও নির্মল বাতাস জীবনের ক্লান্তি দূর করে দেয়। প্রাকৃতিক পরিবেশ ও গাছপালা গ্রামের বড় সম্পদ হলো গাছপালা ও প্রাকৃতিক বনভূমি। নারকেল, তাল, খেজুর, আম, কাঁঠাল, জাম ইত্যাদি গাছের সারি শুধু চোখ ধাঁধানো নয়, পরিবেশের ভারসাম্য রক্ষার জন্য অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। পাখিরা এসব গাছে বাসা বাঁধে, ছায়া দেয়, ফল দেয়। গাছপালার কারণে গ্রামের আবহাওয়া থাকে ঠান্ডা ও স্নিগ্ধ। গ্রামের মেঠো পথের পাশে থাকা ঝোপঝাড়, পুকুরপাড়ের বেত ও বাঁশঝাড়, এবং ক্ষেতের ধারে লাগানো বড় বড় শিমুল, পলাশ গাছ প্রকৃতিকে আরও বৈচিত্র্যময় করে তোলে। নদী ও পুকুরের রূপ বাংলাদেশ একটি নদীমাতৃক দেশ, আর গ্রামে নদীর উপস্থিতি প্রকৃতিকে আরও সুন্দর করে তোলে। গ্রামের পাশ দিয়ে বয়ে যাওয়া নদী শুধু কৃষির জন্যই নয়, বরং এটি এক বিশেষ প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যেরও বাহক। নদীর ধারে দাঁড়িয়ে সূর্যাস্ত দেখা কিংবা সকালে জেলেদের মাছ ধরার দৃশ্য দেখা এক অসাধারণ অভিজ্ঞতা। পুকুরও গ্রামের সৌন্দর্যের অংশ। প্রতিটি বাড়িতে পুকুর থাকে, যেখানে হাঁস-মুরগি সাঁতরে বেড়ায়, শিশু-কিশোরেরা সাঁতার কাটে। বর্ষাকালে এই পুকুরগুলো ফুলে-ফেঁপে ওঠে, আবার শীতকালে অনেকটা শুকিয়ে যায়। পুকুরপাড়ে বসে পা ডুবিয়ে সময় কাটানো সত্যিই প্রশান্তিদায়ক। ধানক্ষেত ও মাঠ গ্রামের সবচেয়ে বৈশিষ্ট্যপূর্ণ দৃশ্য হলো বিস্তীর্ণ ধানক্ষেত। কচি ধানগাছ যখন বাতাসে দুলে ওঠে, তখন তা এক অপরূপ দৃশ্য সৃষ্টি করে। শীতকালে সোনালি ধানের হাসি দেখে মনে হয় যেন প্রকৃতিই মাথায় সোনার মুকুট পরে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে। বোরো, আমন, আউশ—ভিন্ন ভিন্ন মৌসুমে ভিন্ন ভিন্ন চাষাবাদ গ্রামের মাঠগুলোকে রঙিন করে তোলে। শুধু ধান নয়, মাঠে সরষে ফুলের হলুদ শোভা, পাটক্ষেতের সবুজ দেয়াল, কিংবা আলু-টমেটোর চাষ—সব মিলিয়ে এক প্রকৃতিক চিত্রকর্ম হয়ে ওঠে গ্রামবাংলার মাঠ। বৈচিত্র্যময় ঋতু ও প্রভাব বাংলাদেশের ছয়টি ঋতু—গ্রীষ্ম, বর্ষা, শরৎ, হেমন্ত, শীত ও বসন্ত—প্রত্যেকটি ঋতুই গ্রামের প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্যে ভিন্ন রূপ এনে দেয়। গ্রীষ্মে গাছপালা কিছুটা শুষ্ক হলেও আম-কাঁঠালের গন্ধে ভরে যায় চারপাশ। বর্ষায় মাঠভরা পানি, নদীর টলটলে ঢেউ, কাদামাটির সোঁদা গন্ধ গ্রামের চিরচেনা রূপকে ভিন্ন আঙ্গিকে তুলে ধরে। শরতে সাদা কাশফুলে ঢেকে যায় নদীর পাড়। হেমন্তে নতুন ধানের সুবাস ম-ম করে, শীতে কুয়াশায় ঢেকে যায় সকাল-বিকেল, আর বসন্তে পলাশ-শিমুলে আগুন রাঙা রঙে জ্বলে ওঠে প্রকৃতি। পশুপাখি ও প্রাণীকুল গ্রামে বহু রকমের পাখি ও প্রাণী দেখা যায়। দোয়েল, শালিক, কোকিল, ঘুঘু, মাছরাঙা, টিয়া, চিল—এসব পাখিরা প্রকৃতির গানের সুর বাজায়। গরু, ছাগল, হাঁস-মুরগি, কুকুর, বিড়াল—সব মিলিয়ে এক সমন্বিত জীবনব্যবস্থার অংশ। গরু বা মহিষকে চড়াতে নিয়ে যাওয়া, কিংবা ঘোড়া বা বলদ দিয়ে ক্ষেত চাষ করা, এসব দৃশ্য আজও অনেক গ্রামে দেখা যায়। মেঠো পথ ও সন্ধ্যার সৌন্দর্য গ্রামের মেঠো পথ হলো যোগাযোগের মাধ্যম ও প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যের এক অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ। দুপাশে সবুজ ধানক্ষেত, মাঝে সরু কাঁচা রাস্তা, মাঝে মাঝে তালগাছ বা বাঁশঝাড়ের ছায়া—এই পথ দিয়ে হেঁটে গেলে জীবনের ক্লান্তি ভুলে যেতে হয়। সন্ধ্যার সময় যখন সূর্য পশ্চিমে ঢলে পড়ে, আকাশ রক্তিম হয়ে ওঠে, গৃহস্থের উঠোনে ধোঁয়া উঠতে থাকে—তখন মনে হয় প্রকৃতি নিজেই যেন দিনের বিদায় জানাচ্ছে এক নীরব সৌন্দর্যের মাধ্যমে। সন্ধ্যায় কাকের ডাক, শীতের সন্ধ্যায় খেজুর রস সংগ্রহ, কিংবা পুকুরপাড়ে বসে গল্প করা—সব মিলিয়ে এক অনন্য অনুভূতি। চাঁদের আলোয় গ্রাম পূর্ণিমার রাতে গ্রামের দৃশ্য আরেকভাবে মুগ্ধ করে। নির্জন মাঠ, চাঁদের আলোয় ঝিকিমিকি করা পুকুরের পানি, গাছের ছায়া—সব মিলে যেন একটি জীবন্ত কবিতা হয়ে ওঠে। শহরের কৃত্রিম আলোর তুলনায় এই প্রাকৃতিক চাঁদের আলো গ্রামের সৌন্দর্যকে আরও গভীর করে তোলে। রাতে নির্জনতায় শোনা যায় ঝিঁঝিঁ পোকাদের একটানা সুর, যা প্রকৃতির এক অবিচ্ছেদ্য সংগীত। প্রাকৃতিক বিপদ ও চ্যালেঞ্জ তবে গ্রামের প্রকৃতি সবসময় সুখকর নয়। প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগ যেমন বন্যা, খরা, ঘূর্ণিঝড় প্রভৃতি গ্রামের পরিবেশকে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত করে। বর্ষায় অতিরিক্ত বৃষ্টি ফসল ডুবিয়ে দেয়, শীতে শৈত্যপ্রবাহে ক্ষতি হয় সবজির। তবে গ্রামের মানুষ প্রকৃতির সঙ্গেই খাপ খাইয়ে নিতে জানে, প্রকৃতির ভাষা বোঝে বলেই তারা চাষাবাদ, জীবনধারা সবকিছুতেই প্রকৃতির নিয়ম মেনে চলে। উপসংহার গ্রামের প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্য শুধু সৌন্দর্য নয়, এটি একধরনের মানসিক প্রশান্তির উৎস। এ দৃশ্য আমাদের আত্মাকে প্রশান্ত করে, শিকড়ের কাছে ফিরিয়ে নিয়ে যায়। প্রযুক্তির এই যুগে যখন মানুষ ব্যস্ত, ক্লান্ত, তখন গ্রামের প্রকৃতি এক আশ্রয়স্থল হয়ে ওঠে। যদি কেউ প্রকৃতিকে অনুভব করতে চায়, প্রকৃতির সাথে মিশে থাকতে চায়, তাহলে গ্রামই হতে পারে তার জন্য আদর্শ স্থান। গ্রামের প্রকৃতি আমাদের শিক্ষা দেয় সহনশীলতা, ধৈর্য ও প্রকৃতির সাথে সহাবস্থানের আদর্শ। The village is a quiet, serene and vibrant chapter of our lives. The people of the village then take their cows to the field, or release their poultry and chickens in the yard. The calm atmosphere and fresh air in the morning remove the fatigue of life. Natural environment and plants The great wealth of the village is the plants and natural forests. The rows of coconut, palm, date, mango, jackfruit, jam, etc. trees are not only eye-catching, but also very important for maintaining the balance of the environment. গ্রামের এক কোণে বয়ে চলেছে একটি ছোট নদী। এটি বড় নয়, কিন্তু এর পাশে দাঁড়ালে মনে হয় যেন এক বিশাল শান্তির জগতে চলে এসেছি। নদীর পানি স্বচ্ছ ও ঠান্ডা, আর সেই পানিতে সূর্যের আলো পড়ে চকচক করে ওঠে। পানির ওপর মাঝে মাঝে শালুক আর পদ্ম ফুল ভেসে থাকে। ছোট ছোট ঢেউ তুলে নদীটি আপন ছন্দে এগিয়ে চলে, যেন কোনো গন্তব্যে যাচ্ছে না—তবু চলছে। নদীর দুই পাশে সবুজ ধানক্ষেত। বর্ষাকালে এই ধানক্ষেত আরো সুন্দর হয়ে ওঠে। দূর থেকে মনে হয় সবুজের একটি গালিচা বিছানো হয়েছে। সেই গালিচার মাঝে মাঝে দেখা যায় কাক, বক আর সাদা বকপাখি ধীরে ধীরে হেঁটে বেড়াচ্ছে। কখনো কখনো ছোট ছেলে-মেয়েরা নদীর পাড়ে খেলে। কেউ নৌকা চালায়, কেউ মাছ ধরে, আবার কেউ নদীর পানিতে গোসল করে আনন্দে হইচই করে। নদীর পাড় ঘেঁষে রয়েছে কিছু তালগাছ, নারকেল গাছ ও কাশবন। তালগাছের মাথায় বাতাসে দুলতে থাকা পাতাগুলো যেন গান গায়। আবার কাশবনের সাদা ফুলগুলো যখন বাতাসে দুলে উঠে, তখন মনে হয় এ এক সাদা ঢেউ, নদীর পানির ঢেউয়ের সাথে তাল মিলিয়ে চলেছে। নদীর ধারে দুপুরবেলায় দাঁড়ালে শোনা যায় ঝিঁঝিঁ পোকার ডাক, পাখির কিচিরমিচির আর পাতার হালকা মর্মর শব্দ। প্রতিদিন সকালে যখন সূর্য ওঠে, তখন নদীর উপর রঙিন আলো পড়ে। সেই আলোতে নদীর পানি সোনালী রঙের মতো দেখায়। আর সন্ধ্যায় যখন সূর্য অস্ত যায়, তখন আকাশের লাল আভা নদীর পানিতে প্রতিফলিত হয়ে এক অপূর্ব দৃশ্য তৈরি করে। অনেক সময় কিছু পাখি—বিশেষ করে বক, মাছরাঙা বা দোয়েল পাখি—নদীর ধারে এসে বসে থাকে বা মাছ শিকার করে। মাছরাঙা যখন নদীর ওপরে উড়ে এসে হঠাৎ পানিতে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়ে, তখন চোখের পলকে একটি মাছ ধরে ফেলে। এটি দেখতে যেমন মজার, তেমনি প্রাকৃতিক জীবনের এক অপূর্ব দৃশ্য। নদীর আশেপাশে মাঝে মাঝে ছোট ছোট নৌকা দেখা যায়। গ্রামের মানুষ এই নৌকাতে করেই এক পাড় থেকে অন্য পাড়ে যায়। অনেক সময় মাছ ধরার জাল ফেলে রাখে নদীতে। আর সকালবেলা সেই জাল তুলে দেখা যায় কত রকমের ছোট-বড় মাছ ধরা পড়েছে। ছোট ছেলেরা নদীর ধারে বসে কেঁচো দিয়ে ছিপ ফেলে মাছ ধরে, তাদের চোখে-মুখে আনন্দ আর উত্তেজনা স্পষ্ট বোঝা যায়। বর্ষাকালে নদীর রূপ কিছুটা বদলে যায়। তখন পানি বেড়ে গিয়ে পাড় ছাপিয়ে পড়ে ফসলের খেতে। কিন্তু সেই দৃশ্যও একরকম সুন্দর। পানি আর সবুজ ফসল একসাথে মিলেমিশে এক অপূর্ব দৃশ্য তৈরি করে। বর্ষার দিনগুলোতে নদীর ধারে দাঁড়িয়ে থেকে বৃষ্টি দেখা, টিনের ছাউনিতে বৃষ্টির টাপুর টুপুর শব্দ শোনা—এসবই এক অন্যরকম অনুভূতি এনে দেয়। শীতকালে নদীর পানি কমে যায়, পাড়ে পাড়ে বালি জমে। তখন শিশুরা সেই বালির উপর খেলাধুলা করে। অনেক সময় দেখা যায়, গ্রামের বড়রা সেখানে বসে গল্প করছে, কেউ কেউ লাঠি খেলা করছে, আবার কেউবা নদীর পাশেই হাঁসের পাল চড়াচ্ছে। হাঁসেরা দলবেঁধে পানিতে নেমে ডুব দিয়ে খাবার খোঁজে, মাঝে মাঝে তাদের ডাকে নদীর চারপাশ কানে কানে মিষ্টি আওয়াজ তুলে। বসন্তকালে নদীর ধারে নতুন ঘাস গজায়, নতুন ফুল ফোটে। পাখিরা বাসা বাঁধে গাছে গাছে। চারদিকেই তখন নতুন প্রাণের স্পর্শ। গ্রামের মেয়েরা নদীর পাড়ে ফুল তোলে, আবার অনেকে নদীতে কাপড় কাচে। ছোট বাচ্চারা নদীর পাড়ে বসে জলাশয়ে পা ভিজিয়ে রাখে, আর কেউ কেউ কাঁকড়া, ঝিনুক বা ছোট মাছ খুঁজে বেড়ায়। সব মিলিয়ে এই ছোট নদীটি শুধু একটি পানির ধারা নয়, এটি যেন গ্রামের জীবনের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অংশ। এটি শুধু চাষাবাদ, মাছ ধরা বা যাতায়াতের জন্য নয়, এটি মানুষের মনের প্রশান্তি, জীবনের আনন্দ আর প্রকৃতির সৌন্দর্যের প্রতীক। এই নদীর পাড়ে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা মানে প্রকৃতির সাথে এক গভীর সংযোগ তৈরি হওয়া। একাকী মুহূর্তে এই নদীর ধারে দাঁড়িয়ে থেকে জীবনের ক্লান্তি ভুলে যাওয়া যায়। এখানকার হাওয়া, পানি, আলো, গাছপালা আর প্রাণীর সাথে মিলেমিশে মনে হয়—এই পৃথিবী সত্যিই সুন্দর। এই ছোট নদীর পাশে দেখা সেই সাধারণ অথচ মধুর প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্যগুলো আমাদের মনে প্রশান্তি আনে, ভালোবাসা জাগায় এবং শেখায় প্রকৃতির কাছাকাছি থেকে বাঁচতে। A small river flows in one corner of the village. গ্রামের এক কোণে বয়ে চলেছে একটি ছোট নদী। এটি বড় নয়, কিন্তু এর পাশে দাঁড়ালে মনে হয় যেন এক বিশাল শান্তির জগতে চলে এসেছি। নদীর পানি স্বচ্ছ ও ঠান্ডা, আর সেই পানিতে সূর্যের আলো পড়ে চকচক করে ওঠে। পানির ওপর মাঝে মাঝে শালুক আর পদ্ম ফুল ভেসে থাকে। ছোট ছোট ঢেউ তুলে নদীটি আপন ছন্দে এগিয়ে চলে, যেন কোনো গন্তব্যে যাচ্ছে না—তবু চলছে। নদীর দুই পাশে সবুজ ধানক্ষেত। বর্ষাকালে এই ধানক্ষেত আরো সুন্দর হয়ে ওঠে। দূর থেকে মনে হয় সবুজের একটি গালিচা বিছানো হয়েছে। সেই গালিচার মাঝে মাঝে দেখা যায় কাক, বক আর সাদা বকপাখি ধীরে ধীরে হেঁটে বেড়াচ্ছে। কখনো কখনো ছোট ছেলে-মেয়েরা নদীর পাড়ে খেলে। কেউ নৌকা চালায়, কেউ মাছ ধরে, আবার কেউ নদীর পানিতে গোসল করে আনন্দে হইচই করে। নদীর পাড় ঘেঁষে রয়েছে কিছু তালগাছ, নারকেল গাছ ও কাশবন। তালগাছের মাথায় বাতাসে দুলতে থাকা পাতাগুলো যেন গান গায়। আবার কাশবনের সাদা ফুলগুলো যখন বাতাসে দুলে উঠে, তখন মনে হয় এ এক সাদা ঢেউ, নদীর পানির ঢেউয়ের সাথে তাল মিলিয়ে চলেছে। নদীর ধারে দুপুরবেলায় দাঁড়ালে শোনা যায় ঝিঁঝিঁ পোকার ডাক, পাখির কিচিরমিচির আর পাতার হালকা মর্মর শব্দ। প্রতিদিন সকালে যখন সূর্য ওঠে, তখন নদীর উপর রঙিন আলো পড়ে। সেই আলোতে নদীর পানি সোনালী রঙের মতো দেখায়। আর সন্ধ্যায় যখন সূর্য অস্ত যায়, তখন আকাশের লাল আভা নদীর পানিতে প্রতিফলিত হয়ে এক অপূর্ব দৃশ্য তৈরি করে। অনেক সময় কিছু পাখি—বিশেষ করে বক, মাছরাঙা বা দোয়েল পাখি—নদীর ধারে এসে বসে থাকে বা মাছ শিকার করে। মাছরাঙা যখন নদীর ওপরে উড়ে এসে হঠাৎ পানিতে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়ে, তখন চোখের পলকে একটি মাছ ধরে ফেলে। এটি দেখতে যেমন মজার, তেমনি প্রাকৃতিক জীবনের এক অপূর্ব দৃশ্য। নদীর আশেপাশে মাঝে মাঝে ছোট ছোট নৌকা দেখা যায়। গ্রামের মানুষ এই নৌকাতে করেই এক পাড় থেকে অন্য পাড়ে যায়। অনেক সময় মাছ ধরার জাল ফেলে রাখে নদীতে। আর সকালবেলা সেই জাল তুলে দেখা যায় কত রকমের ছোট-বড় মাছ ধরা পড়েছে। ছোট ছেলেরা নদীর ধারে বসে কেঁচো দিয়ে ছিপ ফেলে মাছ ধরে, তাদের চোখে-মুখে আনন্দ আর উত্তেজনা স্পষ্ট বোঝা যায়। বর্ষাকালে নদীর রূপ কিছুটা বদলে যায়। তখন পানি বেড়ে গিয়ে পাড় ছাপিয়ে পড়ে ফসলের খেতে। কিন্তু সেই দৃশ্যও একরকম সুন্দর। পানি আর সবুজ ফসল একসাথে মিলেমিশে এক অপূর্ব দৃশ্য তৈরি করে। বর্ষার দিনগুলোতে নদীর ধারে দাঁড়িয়ে থেকে বৃষ্টি দেখা, টিনের ছাউনিতে বৃষ্টির টাপুর টুপুর শব্দ শোনা—এসবই এক অন্যরকম অনুভূতি এনে দেয়। শীতকালে নদীর পানি কমে যায়, পাড়ে পাড়ে বালি জমে। তখন শিশুরা সেই বালির উপর খেলাধুলা করে। অনেক সময় দেখা যায়, গ্রামের বড়রা সেখানে বসে গল্প করছে, কেউ কেউ লাঠি খেলা করছে, আবার কেউবা নদীর পাশেই হাঁসের পাল চড়াচ্ছে। হাঁসেরা দলবেঁধে পানিতে নেমে ডুব দিয়ে খাবার খোঁজে, মাঝে মাঝে তাদের ডাকে নদীর চারপাশ কানে কানে মিষ্টি আওয়াজ তুলে। বসন্তকালে নদীর ধারে নতুন ঘাস গজায়, নতুন ফুল ফোটে। পাখিরা বাসা বাঁধে গাছে গাছে। চারদিকেই তখন নতুন প্রাণের স্পর্শ। গ্রামের মেয়েরা নদীর পাড়ে ফুল তোলে, আবার অনেকে নদীতে কাপড় কাচে। ছোট বাচ্চারা নদীর পাড়ে বসে জলাশয়ে পা ভিজিয়ে রাখে, আর কেউ কেউ কাঁকড়া, ঝিনুক বা ছোট মাছ খুঁজে বেড়ায়। সব মিলিয়ে এই ছোট নদীটি শুধু একটি পানির ধারা নয়, এটি যেন গ্রামের জীবনের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অংশ। এটি শুধু চাষাবাদ, মাছ ধরা বা যাতায়াতের জন্য নয়, এটি মানুষের মনের প্রশান্তি, জীবনের আনন্দ আর প্রকৃতির সৌন্দর্যের প্রতীক। এই নদীর পাড়ে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা মানে প্রকৃতির সাথে এক গভীর সংযোগ তৈরি হওয়া। একাকী মুহূর্তে এই নদীর ধারে দাঁড়িয়ে থেকে জীবনের ক্লান্তি ভুলে যাওয়া যায়। এখানকার হাওয়া, পানি, আলো, গাছপালা আর প্রাণীর সাথে মিলেমিশে মনে হয়—এই পৃথিবী সত্যিই সুন্দর। এই ছোট নদীর পাশে দেখা সেই সাধারণ অথচ মধুর প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্যগুলো আমাদের মনে প্রশান্তি আনে, ভালোবাসা জাগায় এবং শেখায় প্রকৃতির কাছাকাছি থেকে বাঁচতে। A small river flows in one corner of the village. Green rice fields on both sides of the river. During the rainy season, these rice fields become even more beautiful. From a distance, it seems like a carpet of green has been spread. Crows, pheasants, and white pheasants are occasionally seen walking slowly on that carpet. Sometimes, young boys and girls play on the banks of the river. Some row boats, some fish, and some bathe in the river water and make a noise of joy. Along the banks of the river, there are some palm trees, coconut trees, and cashew forests. The leaves swaying in the wind on the tops of the palm trees seem to sing. Again, when the white flowers of the Kashban sway in the wind, it seems like a white wave, moving in sync with the waves of the river water. When you stand by the river in the afternoon, you can hear the calls of crickets, the chirping of birds, and the soft rustling of leaves. Every morning when the sun rises, colorful light falls on the river. In that light, the river water looks golden. And when the sun sets in the evening, the red glow of the sky is reflected in the water of the river, creating a wonderful scene. Sometimes, some birds—especially the buck, the merganser, or the doyel bird—come and sit on the river bank or hunt fish. When the merganser flies over the river and suddenly jumps into the water, it catches a fish in the blink of an eye. It is as interesting to watch as it is a wonderful scene of natural life. Small boats are sometimes seen around the river. Villagers go from one bank to the other in these boats. Many times, they leave fishing nets in the river. And in the morning, when you lift the net, you can see how many different types of small and big fish have been caught. Young boys sit by the riverbank and catch fish with earthworms, and the joy and excitement in their eyes and faces are clearly visible. During the rainy season, the river changes its appearance a bit. Then the water rises and overflows the banks, covering the fields of crops. But that scene is also somehow beautiful. The water and the green crops together create a wonderful scene. On rainy days, standing by the riverbank and watching the rain, listening to the sound of rain on the tin roof—all these bring a different feeling. In winter, the river water recedes, and sand accumulates on the banks. Then the children play on that sand. Many times, you can see the village elders sitting there talking, some playing with sticks, and some raising a flock of ducks by the river. The ducks dive into the water in groups and look for food, sometimes calling them with sweet sounds that reach the ears of the people around the river. In spring, new grass grows along the river, new flowers bloom. Birds nest in the trees. There is a touch of new life all around. Village girls pick flowers on the riverbank, while many others wash clothes in the river. Small children sit on the riverbank and soak their feet in the water, and some look for crabs, oysters or small fish. All in all, this small river is not just a stream of water, it is an important part of village life. It is not just for farming, fishing or transportation, it is a symbol of people's peace of mind, joy of life and the beauty of nature.
