This improvisation created a meditative space that was peaceful and yet mysterious, always beckoning me beyond.... As you let this mystical piano piece take you within the holographic spaces of mind and heart, may it elevate your thoughts and pacify your heart. Welcome back friends and Listeners, The month of May was very kind to Tim & I insofar as inspiration and opportunities to improvise and record together... and this piece was the fruit of our last session, just after the world-wide Auroras of May 10th. We found ourselves in a different modal tonality in this one and hope you will enJoy it's tones and phrasings. Tim was playing his Telecaster and once again i was on the ancient Upright Grand Piano. He often characterizes our interactions as being born of Strings (for guitar and piano strings) and Bells (for piano tones). The other element, Winds, refers to Spirit. This transcendent composition emerged out of the Musical Aether as my SC friend Jörg Stohwasser @joerxworx added his amazingly Sonorous Saxophone to the Setting i created with my ES7 Electric piano. And wow! ... something wondrous was created! 😃 Just have a Listen. Hiya Peoples! 😊 As seeds, budding plants, shrubs and bears awaken from the depths of winter in the Northern Hemisphere and Spring comes, we're delighted to finally Release a New Track for Spring of 2023! 😎 We call it 'Awakening'. And thank goodness that as usual, the fingers of Tim Elliot are on his Telecaster and mine on the ancient Upright Grand Piano . and together, they work their magic as we continue to explore the sonic landscape together through Improvisation. Of course this can only happen within a space of Deep Listening. A place Musicians can go in their totally individual inimitable ways. In our case, we almost immediately found ourselves being 'Led' into a Tonal Awakening.... Subtle grooves that were an outer manifestation of the Joy we were experiencing as we explored the spaces in between the notes. 😊 Of course, the very best kind of Awakening is to one's own inimitable Truth, no matter the noise and apparent confusion all around. Here is the FULL Improvisation that came through Guitarist Tim Elliot and I in Mid May. Another musical conversation and exploration. Another journey to somewhere in melody and tone we'd never been before. It's raw and organic and recorded with just 1 stereo microphone, but it has it's charms. 😉 Tim's guitaring really comes to the fore in the second half of the track, which is also published as another Track entitled 'Anomon & Elliot Live! This track is another heartfelt, raw, and organic musical conversation with my friend and guitarist Tim Elliot. Thankfully, he's always game to sit down with me and communicate spontaneously. Hello people, Delighted to share this recently recorded Improvisation with my dear friend, guitarist Tim Elliot. 😊 It's been over 6 months since we recorded 'Autumn Jam' and several other tracks. Here's a new creation that features Jörg Stohwasser @joerxworx on Flutes. It's based on my recently posted Trio piece entitled 'That Starry Night'. I'm so thankful for his willingness to engage and work with me on this rather nebulous project. :) Jorg likened the finished piece to a midnight walk in 'the Magic Forest' under a dark and starry sky. And my Japanese friend Boon Suzuki likened it to having what is suggested by the Japanese word 'Yugen' (幽玄): 'subtly profound grace, not obvious'. Here's my arrangement of the Improv that Jörg @ joerxworx and I began collaborating on just before Christmas. It's a real pleasure to share it with everyone. We always have fun musically, but the Cat's Meow would be playing together live! :-D After sending him my Piano, Bass, and Drums track, I was delighted that he went all out and played his Flute, Tenor and Alto Saxes over it! We then decided to let them all interweave together in this Final exuberant MiX. Set back and Let this flow come onto ya ... It all began as an impromptu evening visit and morphed into a wonderful evening of musical magic... We recorded our Musical Conversations in Tim Elliot's living room with only one middling Microphone an Upright Piano and his Guitar suite, and I'm so glad we did! Composer/Guitarist @davidjsvensson freely commented, "If the rest of the piece is even close to what the first two minutes were, then this is a masterpiece!!" So glad to share the results of this intimate honest and organic Live Jam with you all. I must say that i am looking forward to more such interactions with Tim. In between Summer and Fall, Nature seems puzzled for a brief period as the transition completes itself; much like us as we merge with our futures. But somehow everything works out. In any case, here is a composition on Electric Piano born in a recent improvised recording session. It merges and flows in waves and patterns that never quite resolve themselves even as they stay harmonious.
