    First Term at Malory Towers: ch.7

    Alicia is admired. Gwendoline is rejected. Gwendoline attempts a murder. Darrell actually carries out an assault. Darrell is disgraced. Long-term beef begins.

    First Term at Malory Towers: ch.6

    Darrell starts to slack off. Alicia copies off her brothers. The idea of a Blyton-verse is put forth. Alicia pulls a prank. We realise that kid humour sucks as an adult. Poor Mam'zelle's day is ruined.

    First Term at Malory Towers: ch.5

    Darrell's first week is detailed in miniscule detail. Blyton judges some more fictional children. Alicia is feared by everyone and is definitely a bully. The school has a swimming pool which is a bit of a health hazard. Blyton hints at trouble brewing.

    First Term at Malory Towers: ch.4

    Darrell and Alicia sin during prayers. Lessons happen which involve a nasty maths test. Gwendoline continues being crap. Darrell has no friends. The week continues.

    Darrell admires her dormitory. We learn about all the shades of brown. Gwendoline is getting on everyone's nerves. There are some angry French teachers. The head teacher might be Darrell's Dad.

    Darrell is on a longgg train journey. Malory Towers is very fancy. Alicia bullies Gwendoline some more. Supper is served.

    We meet Darrell Rivers admiring her awful school uniform. Troy muses over his school experience. Darrell meets some school mates at the station. There's no sign of her temper yet. We are given a quick lesson in parenting by Alicia. Emotions are bad. Darrell likes bullies.

    Five on a Treasure Island: ch.16 & 17

    It's here, the end of our first Famous Five book! Julian and George are rescued. A plan is made. The plan is a flop. George gets axe-happy. The police are called. Timmy is welcomed back to Kirrin Cottage. The adventure is at an end. The children head to bed and dream of more to come.

    We have an apology to make. Dick has an idea. Anne isn't happy. Dick finds out that small can be better. Julian and George are relieved.

    Five on a Treasure Island: ch.14

    George & Julian get a shock. Timmy's life is on the line. George has a cunning plan. Dick is very astute. Troy is hard to please when it comes to exciting material.

    Five on a Treasure Island: ch.13

    The dungeons are explored. The 5 get lost. Dick gets wounded by the biggest splinter ever. Nosebleed advice has moved on since the 1940's. At last the gold ingots are discovered!

    The 5 work hard. Timmy is a prat. George is hench af. Anne's laziness yields results. The children go down into the dungeons (sorry, cellars...). Troy is underWELLmed.     Becca was a prat. Troy is in a sulk just like George. The children make plans for their island staycation. Becca and Troy buy some garden furniture. Julian insults only children. The children row to the island (again). Hunting for the dungeons begins!

    Troy and Becca fill you in on their fun Easter weekend. Uncle Quentin is a sellout. George gets angry - a lot. The island is about to be sold. The five plan to go and stay on the island again. Uncle Quentin's sexism is showing. Did we mention George gets angry? Julian is mature.

    Five on a Treasure Island: ch.9

    Anne has an awfully brilliant (or brilliantly awful) idea. Uncle Quentin gets petty. The children open the box from the wreck and find a map. They display oddly good cartography skills. Anne finally shuts up. Reporters are coming!

    Five on a Treasure Island: ch.8

    George was lying last chapter about getting up at dawn all the time. The children explore the smelly wreck. There is a mysterious box. Half of breakfast is withheld by an angry Uncle Quentin. Troy and Becca are very tired.

    Five on a Treasure Island: ch.7

    After 2 weeks off Troy and Becca are back with a...pop, because this chapter has NOTHING HAPPEN. The 5 travel back to Kirrin Cottage and go to bed...yeah, pretty much that's it. Oh, and they have dinner again and eat a whole cake.

    Becca has a Blyton-tastic birthday, there is a big storm, Tommy thinks the thunder is a dog, Julian has an adrenaline fuelled death-wish, the wreck rises again.

    Five on a Treasure Island: ch.5

    The children go on a picnic with Aunt Fanny, George hurts Aunt Fanny's feelings, more ice cream is consumed, George's bulging muscles are once again discussed, the children take a vast quantity of tea to the island, Troy makes the same joke a zillion times, and a storm gathers.

    Five on a Treasure Island: ch.4

    The children go for a bathe which Troy learns doesn't mean a bath, we discover our history knowledge on monarchs is lacking, George assaults Anne, a plate of cheese is the focus of sorrowful looks, an unmanly hug is exchanged, the 5 run off to row over the wreck, George & Julian go for a dive, they get back just in time for tea, fun is had by all.

    The children hear about Kirrin Island and George lowkey boasts about how rich her family is. The 3 siblings meet Timothy the dog and bribe George with ice cream for a stake in her island.

    The three cousins arrive at Kirrin but there is no George waiting. She finally turns up in the night. The next day arguments ensue over remembering her name. The children head to the beach and George has an exciting secret to reveal.
