Vic gives us another gem! This is a good one to help men start the new year off right! Vic talks about how he feels men should say exactly what they want when it comes to dating and relationships. More importantly, he thinks men should call out and take steps towards achieving those wants and needs in life, period. This is how he, and myself try to live our lives today. I sit down for a conversation with new friend, Keith aka DJ Maxx. I joined a 3 wheel bike club and found few members I really gelled with. And yeah, I had to get one them on the pod. I really like his energy, his carefulness, thoughtfulness, and his ability to get to business without being rude or nasty. That's rare this day and age. Have you guys been keeping up with latest hip-hop news?! Well, yeah, there's always beef, but it seems like the violence is up again. Two or three rapper have taken away from the streets they rap about. It happens so much, that no one seemed to have cared. They reported on it, and that's was it. I get it. They rap about street life, so it's only karma working its way back to them. OK.....but what about the effect the music these guys leave behind? It's laced with the same trash talking, block spinning, switch toting lyrics that got them un-alived. This stuff is hurting the communities, and urban radio is helping bring our demise quicker. Or least, that's what I think.

Vic and I discuss what this new Trump presidency looks like for black folk in 2025 and beyond. Also, where are the leaders? We have no voices, well major voices, that speak for us like back in the day. Are those days long gone? Has the internet changed things? Or have those old methods of organizing and talking about issues on the church steps and at the local community center past their prime? We talk some other stuff too. Ambush The Game podcast is back. This our first episode for 2025! I start with a recap of some of action from 2024, then follow up with some future plans. Expect more from the pod this year! We will add some local street interviews, more opinions from friends and randoms alike, and more political takes. I know Trump is going to give us a lot! OK, enough talk! Lets go!

We started with a simple question about modern women changing the way they think after having kids and/or starting a family, but somewhere in the conversation, we took a turn. We got lost and never made it back! It was fun though!

I express my fears about AI to Vic, and how it will be the end of mankind. He listens, but offers no comfort! Just adds to my concern, then adds his own spin to the story. In a nutshell, I believe we are letting technology take too much of livelihood away, and what's worse, we welcome it. We are, in my opinion, ushering in our own demise with advanced technology and AI.

Vic tries to explain the term "baby" and how it should be used. Well, used by his logic and understanding. Needless to say, I got lost trying to understand his position. Also, I'm sure there will be a lot of women who will not agree at all with stuff he said. You need to hear for your self. Check it out!

In this episode, I talk about a term I heard a few days ago, "black tax." It's when black businesses charge more or handle its black patrons differently than other customers. In most cases the treatment is worse. It comes in the form of higher prices, less options, higher gratuity, and of course a nasty attitude by the workers and/or ownership. I offer my opinion on the matter, and offer some reasons why it exists. Check it out!

Hip Hop turned 50 years old in 2023! As some may know, I give a ton of credit to hip hop culture for saving my life. As a young boy, I was neck deep in the culture. Run DMC was my favorite group, DJ competitions, scratching, rap battles, and of course break dancing was all I consumed. DJing proved to have my attention the most, as I became the local rap group's DJ. We were good too! I digress, in this episode, Vic and I talk top 5 rappers, worst rappers, and the state of hip hop today. We had fun. Check it out!

Meet our urban hitman hero and friend, Don Week, not to be confused with that knock off John Wick. This guy is the real deal! We found out Moe was in full family protection mode at the home going celebration for our friend AP's grandmother. Even though it wasn't the best of occasions, it was good to rally around our pal, lift him up and have fun at the same time. This is just us talking trash and somebody hit record.

It's been a few days since the missing Birmingham woman returned home seemingly unharmed, and under her own power from being kidnapped. In the days following her return, many questions remain unanswered. The public is waiting to hear from the family, specifically, looking for details to confirm or contradict what was said by local law enforcement, which seem to suggest a planned disappearance. Yet, with this as the back drop, people in the urban areas have pushed forward their narratives on the situation. I challenge (rant) about three of these views. Check it out.

In this episode, I introduce my listeners to another family member, Roe Phillips. He is a professional barber and proprietor of Milestones Grooming Lounge, which is just outside my hometown. Roe and I talk a little about family, and a lot about this business of beauty in the form cutting hair. Along with how business has changed since the pandemic. Roes shared tons of insight about his business, in all its forms, the good and bad, from pricing to cleaning floors, and everything else, even some things I didn't know. Check it out! I share a story from my childhood about race relations, and the lingering effects of that day 40 years later. Maybe we can learn something from this. Maybe, we can grow from it, and open the door for others to share. This is one my, "on the couch" moments, I guess.

I share my thoughts on what I think are the similarities between the black churches and the US prison system, loosely. My guests respond with their own takes. The conversation goes from somewhat plausible to "what did he say" in a matter of minutes. It's just a few guys chopping it up about another area of blackness most Americans don't see.

Vic and I bro it up over a few beers and catch up on old and new. Just two old dudes talking shit, chopping it up, or whatever else the young folk call it these days.

Pleas welcome another friend of mine to the podcast. Meet Chris, an old friend I met at work over twenty years ago.  Both of us were shop technicians with no knowledge of the others existence. We had nothing in common, we didn't even like the same make of cars. I'm a chevy guy, and he likes Ford. We grew up different. We came from different walks of life. Who would've thought we would become friends? And good ones at that! Yet, here we are 25 years later, and I want you all to meet him. Chris and I have a brief light-hearted conversation. We talk a little bit about the old days, chicken fighting, 6 shooter, and of course, our kids.

We give our opinions on a coach's decision to leave a HBCU to take the head coaching job at a power 5 school. Was there more to be done at HBCU or was the job done? Were there other issues at play which aided in him leaving the program after winning the conference title...again? Let's weigh in, and give an outsider's view of the situation. And oh, we don't know what we're talking about. We have no facts, just the click bait videos we looked at here and there. What we realized is, everyone has an opinion, even you're not affected. Funny how that works!

What do these things have in common? Black folk! Seriously, we take a look at how some people completely disregard established rules simply because they want to. Standards for restaurant attire, box store clothing requirements, work attire, office and bargain store bathrooms are not exempt, rules are ignored everywhere! Let's talk about it.

A brief discussion about "showing off" with the family. Do black people show prosperity with material goods? Gold chains, fur coats, designer bags and clothes, is this the only thing we understand? Let's talk about it.

Sometimes you just can't talk to them! Friends or family, it doesn't matter, you can't have a civilized conversation with them. Either they only want you to listen and agree, or they only want advice that fits their narrative. I know a few folks this way, some have even said I was just like this back in the day. Vic and I briefly chatted about it.

Vic talks about what men should and shouldn't do on first dates. Basically, he covers what men should do when meeting women, dating women, and everything else when dealing with the ladies. I chimed in a little bit, but Vic was on one, is we let him roll! Then he gives the ladies some much needed advice about tempering their expectations and how being demanding does not help anything, especially a fledgling relationship. Check it out!

I talk about how I believe there are double standards to policing. Blacks are far more likely, than any other racial group, to have traffic stops turn deadly. Even mass shooters get treated better! This bothers me deeply. I don't to see anybody hurt by the police. Hell, I don't want to see the any law enforcement personnel hurt or killed either. We seriously need to look at police and community relationships, and figure out ways to make and/or keep them healthy. This will help the community, the police,  lower crime rates, and even aid in reducing murder rates.

Mike and I catch up on old times, particularly the music we created in the late 90s and 2000s. W e go all over the place, there was too much to cover and too many situations to discuss. We couldn't cover them all, but we tried!  

Simply. Vic and I discuss guns and control. And we examine the difference in urban gun violence and mass shootings, and overall American gun culture.

What makes a relationship? Or better yet, when is a relationship over? How much time should a person wait before engaging in another affair? Is there a time frame, say 30 days? A healing process? Do both parties need to communicate clearly to each other the relationship status? What are the rules?

We were outside having a random conversation, when somebody asked,"how long do you search before asking for help?" And it went from there! From asking for help, to who has the best shopping carts, wobbly wheels, and anything else we thought of. We had a good time with this one. We even had a special guest at the end of the episode.

I went on a small rant about "tone!" It's amazing how the delivery is sometimes greater than there message.

Does fat shaming happen to men? Of course it does! In fact, it happens to men more. Well, I think it does. Anyway, we joke about it. All fun. We love every size, shape, and color human being created.

The panel is back again! This half of the story of black love, black trust, black misunderstanding, or whatever Vic is talking about! Check this half out! Tell us, do we (black folk) have a jacked up understanding of how to treat each other? I think so, not always.....but wee keep that Bullshit energy ready!

Girls post pictures all the time on social media! Most of the pictures are supposed to be sexy. why? We don't know! Why so so many filters? Why so many FB challenges (reasons) to post another one revealing even more skin. Some of y'all should keep all your clothes on and apply every filter available. Maybe then, John Wayne won't be in your inbox!

We try to understand women's infatuation with these mini brushes they stick on their faces. We try to size them, guess the quantity in a pack. Do they come in multiple sizes in one pack? We don't know shit! And, we show it! It was fun though!

We discuss opinions (since everyone has two or three of them), and advice. And like most people do, we blur the line between the two. We talked about opinions/advice and probably got them both wrong, but we had fun doing it. 

I think those birds are up to something. They know exactly what they're doing. Listen to what one did to me.

Vic and I discuss two things we believe have taken hold of the black community. These two thing have lead to a party all the time, make money, fu*k b!tches, type of attitude, which all leads to destruction. 

You gonna slap who? Why that unfortunate incident was so wrong. This had a real effect on Vic and myself. We both tried to keep from going too far. Slapping is really dehumanizing in my (our) community, it's like spitting in someone's face. You don't do it! Ever wonder why you don't see. black people in those slap competitions? Here's why.

Does your girlfriend fall asleep on you? Well, mine does! All the time. I call her out about it!
