Another Way with Dani
by Dani O'Brien Buckley
Hi, I'm Dani! I love people and I love talking about the human experience. I'm a seeker and a connector. From a very young age I've believed in the power of discourse and critical thinking - and that "because this is how we've always done it" is not a valid reason to keep doing things a certain way. In every episode I sit down with a different guest (or guests) and dive into how they are challenging the status quo and choosing unconventional paths in life. Together, we explore their insights, experiences, and stories around specific themes. The mission is to open our hearts and minds so we can consciously explore ways to live more authentically, intentionally, and on purpose. And hopefully break through outdated paradigms despite what we've been told or taught. Support this podcast with your gracious donations at: buymeacoffee.com/daniobrienbuckley

It’s All the (Mom) Rage: An Inquiry Into Motherhood - Minna Dubin
I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Minna Dubin, author of MOM RAGE: The Everyday Crisis of Modern Motherhood. We talked about all the things that not enough people (in my humble opinion) are naming and talking about in regards to Moms and the expectations and pressure we put on them, paired with all the ways we are not supporting, acknowledging, or listening to them. We asked the questions, "Why is motherhood not working for so many people?" and "Why are so many women not choosing motherhood?" Minna not only shares vulnerably around her own experiences but also has a wealth of research and recommendations for things we can actually do to help shift things. Oh boy this was a fun interview! I loved talking with Maya Culbertson‑Lane about all the things including her journey as a performance artist and clown, what clowning means to each of us and the role it plays, her experiences with being an aging woman in the performance world, the intersectionality of her being a therapist and a clown mother - and what that even means, and of course, polyamory and relating and sexuality. ADHD: Not Broken, Just Different - Sebastian Clarke
The week before my 40th birthday this year I was diagnosed with ADHD and it's completely turned my world upside down (and right side up??) So, of course, I wanted to do an episode about ADHD... pronto! Sebastian Clarke, Intimacy Coach and Educator with TurnON.love, was the perfect guest to dive into so many of the neurodivergent topics I've been obsessing over lately. In this episode we really focus on ADHD and relationships including questions like:How does having ADHD impact our relationships? What are some common challenges we might face? How can ADHD show up in our sex lives? How to talk to someone that you think might have ADHD and may not know it? What are some tips for ADHD folks to navigate relating in a neurotypical world? Are my fidget toys loud enough to be heard on this podcast? ;) Plus, a whole lot more. Britt Fohrman guides people towards confident embodiment as a teacher, coach, doula, photographer, and alchemist in the often overlapping realms of pleasure, grief, sexuality, love, birth, and ceremony. A Platonic Life Partnership and Co-Housing Story: Leah Rothstein & Rachel True
Leah Rothstein and Rachel True have been friends for nearly 30 years. In this episode, we hear their story of building a life-long friendship that has turned into co-housing and building their very own "compound" in Oakland, California. They share the many reasons this came about including a shared commitment to not living an isolated life and sharing life more expansively in a unique (but increasingly more popular these days) way. We dive into the benefits and the challenges they have faced, the language we have (and don't have) for these kinds of unconventional friendships and relationships, how others perceive it, what commitment in friendship can look and feel like, and a whole lot more. There are many ways compounds and communal living can look, and this is one unique peek into how Leah and Rachel (and their families and friends) are doing it. "How do I build a career that feels purposeful and in alignment?""Are there more than the two common paths that can feel like all or nothing?" "How do I navigate worrying what people think? Or even the real consequences we can face?" "How do you build your life with more scaffolding than your job?" And many more! Noa shares with us her own journey including her "fall of rage" and how she found her way in creating a path where she is in alignment, passionate about her work, and doing something she loves, while still working in the tech world that he knows and loves. ABOUT THIS SHOW
Hi, I'm Dani!
