The unwavering dedication and personal sacrifices of service members, department personnel, and their families was commended by the 2nd ID command team. An installment of Sights and Sounds focusing on Ilwol Arboretum at Suwon, South Korea, Sept. 25, 2024. The arboretum was originally an industrial complex and was redeveloped to provide a green space for citizens to relax. It is decorated with a rare wildflower, seasonal, plant garden and an exhibition greenhouse. Sights and Sounds highlight cultural events or aesthetically interesting locations throughout the Korean peninsula.(DoD video by Hana Pong)

Parker talked about how the survey is designed to ensure military members assigned to overseas locations receive a Overseas Cost of Living Allowance (OCOLA) that helps them maintain the purchasing power they would have stateside. The survey is now available online and the results will factor into the overall COLA rate.
