An energetic defender, known for his high basketball IQ and ability to lockdown on the defensive end, as well as create scoring opportunities for his teammates, the "Sparkplug" finished his NBA career with over 1,000 career steals! Welcome back all to the BALLS AND BEARDS PODCAST presented by Fat Boys Tacos!! It's been a minute, but the fellas are back with that armchair analysis you crave with a complete recap and breakdown of what was indeed a WILD Wild Card Weekend in the NFL.The fellas start in Carolina where the Panthers were the largest home underdog in NFL playoff history (+10.5), but nonetheless the home team came to play and gave the Rams all they could handle. A late TD pass from QB Matthew Stafford with just 0:38 left led LA to a thrilling 34-31 victory in the playoff opener. Which also led to a spirited debate about how the NFL does their playoff seeding, etc. Next up, we go to Philly where the seemingly impossibly under-manned 49ers took out the defending Champs, 23-19 in a game that featured even more injuries for San Fran, and some sidelines fireworks between Eagles HC Nick Sirianni and star WR AJ Brown. Brown ended up with a couple of key drops in the game. Who's to blame for the fizzle out in Philly? Justin has plenty of answers and suggestions for the Eagles heading into next season.Then it's onto Chris's Packers & their historic collapse against arch-rivals the Chicago Bears on Saturday night. Green Bay dominated the first half and raced out to a 21-3 halftime lead, but the second half completely flipped the script as Chicago took advantage of a suddenly sluggish & inept Packers offense to start the 2nd half. GB missed several key kicks in the game as well, and it all added up to magical rally for the Bears. The fellas give you their take and Chris offers up his take on whether he believes LaFleur is the longterm answer.Then it's onto the AFC where the Bills and upstart Jaguars delivered one heck of performance, but of course, it was the reigning MVP in Josh Allen that got the last laugh in a thrilling 24-20 Buffalo victory. Jacksonville has laid the foundation for the future. Now, can the Bills continue this run all the way to the Super Bowl? The fellas discuss.Oh yea, and the Patriots defeated the Chargers in a yawn... 16-3 snoozer.
