TAJ from Grants, New Mexico debuts at The Rockhouse this Friday
I was lucky enough to get a quick zoom interview with TAJ, hours before they opened up for The Butcher Babies at the Launch Pad in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We talk about their formation, lineup changes in the beginning, to recently transitioning from a 3 piece to a 4 piece band. They talk about their numerous shows and tours, (playing show number 71 right after this interview). The band also goes into detail about their third annual TAJ and Friends Camping Fest July 16-19th with over 40 bands. Catch them this Friday March 20th at the Rockhouse in El Paso, TX for BAMC Showcast's Spring Break, and on Saturday April 18th in Tularosa, NM at the High Sky Venue (former Horror Haul) for Spring Fling.

Interior Comic Book Art, with Joel Gomez
I sat down with one of my favorite artists, Joel Gomez. He is the interior artist for Coffin Comics titles La Muerta and Lady Gunfighter. We did a deep dive on his career, how he got started, his time at Top Cow, Aspen, WildStorm, and of course Coffin Comics. He told me all about his process and how he transforms the scripts to the art we see on the pages. A very fun interview and one of my favorites by far.

Death Match Wrestling with Mad Man Pondo
Starting off 2026 with a bang. I was fortunate enough to have a chat with one of the pioneers of American Death Match Wrestling, Mad Man Pondo. He's about to release his 2nd book in 2026. We talk about both books, him being in 2001 Maniacs with Robert Englund and Kane Hodder, his love for horror, and his wrestling career. He has wrestled all over the U.S. and 6 countries. He has worked for various companies including IWA Mid South, CZW, GCW, MAW, Kick Ass Wrestling, Big Japan Wrestling, and has done 49 tours of Japan. This was a very fun interview with not only one of my all time favorites, but a very cool person and awesome dude in general. Thundersail makes their Texas debut at Southwest Power Fest.
Thundersail made their Texas stage debut at The Rockhouse at Southwest Power Fest Level 1. This band formed in 2022 and hails from Denver, Colorado. We chat briefly about how they all met, came together, their journey thus far, and plans for the future. Our tale with them actually started when they road tripped to the Rockhouse last year to see Tyr. This was recorded Friday night, right before the Launch Par ty.

Valkyrie's Fire Headlines Southwest Power Fest Level 1 at The Rockhouse
We just had Southwest Power Fest Level 1 at the Rockhouse. Right before our Talk Like a Pirate Karaoke Launch Party I sat down with our headliner's Valkyrie's Fire, an epic six piece power metal band out of Nashville, Tennessee. They talk about their backgrounds, how they came together, what they've accomplished so far, the EP they currently have out, and their first full length album this will be released in 2026. This was a very fun chat the night before their incredible headlining performance.

Abby K's Girls Rock Nashville hits The RockHouse
Bassist and front woman Abby K makes her return to the Rockhouse almost 4 years after playing here on tour with Nita Strauss. This time she's taking her charity concert series Girls Rock Nashville on the road, and El Paso is the first stop. Abby talks about this concert series, how it came together, as well as her career up to this point. This was a very fun interview and a very fun all female fronted show at the only house that rocks.

We talk all about the event, bands, vendors, and what people can expect at this 13 band festival that has no cover charge. We also talk about his bands Shalem, Flat Blak, and the south west music scene in general.

Talk Nice with, Taiyamo Denku
In my first ever zoom episode I interviewed hip hop artst Taiyamo Denku, who just performed at the Rockhouse on 8/7/2025 as a feature on the I-25 Cypher tour. Taiyamo gives us a run through of his whole career. We touch on his his musical journey from childhood beatboxing to releasing 46 albums while balancing his career with a day job and parenting responsibilities. Taiyamo shares insights about his touring experiences, collaborations with numerous artists including some who have since passed away, and his approach to promoting music in the current digital landscape dominated by platforms like TikTok. The conversation concludes with Taiyamo describing recent personal hardships, including severe flooding damage to his home that insurance won't cover. Be sure to hit his cash app and bandcamp store. One of the best and hardest working artists in the game.

Rock for Ruidoso 2, benefit show hits The Rockhouse
Today I sat down with Rock for Ruidoso 2 promoters/organizers John Summerford aka Johnny Crash and Rockhouse Bartender, Krystal Lee Raven. They did this benefit last year for the wild fires, and they're doing it again this year for the floods. Bigger, better, and at The Rockhouse. We talk about how both events came together, our mutual love for Ruidoso in general, and how people can help out. The show is Saturday August 16th, tickets are $15 and shirts are $25. I had very good chat with long time friends of the show Among The Living. We do a deep dive on their entire run as a band, so far. They talk the beginnings, getting the correct line up, shows, recording, signing a record deal, releasing their album, and now their post label independent journey; as well as the work on their sophomore album. This is legit one of the most fun interviews I've ever conducted.

The Rock It Rocket, Alamogordo's new music hub.
Before night 2 of our Mistress of Reality double shot event, I sat down with Jason and Kristen Nix, the owners of The Rock It Rocket. This is an instrument store/repair shop/music venue in one, located in down town Alamogordo, NM. They partnered with Bart Man (Burning Sunday),Rockhouse, and myself to help make both of these shows happen. We talk about their backgrounds, how these events came together, and what we can expect in the very near future from the new music hub in Alamogordo.

This weekend we did a double shot event Friday at the Rockhousein El Paso, TX and Saturday in Alamogordo, NM at The Rock it Rocket. My guests were our headliners Mistress ofReality, The Word’s First All Female Tribute To Black Sabbath. They sat down with me in Alamogordo before their2nd performance. Paulette andthe girls talk about the formation and history of this band as well their AC/DCTribute, Herway To Hell. Paulette alsoowns a music school in Santa Monica called The Music Castle where they are allinstructors as well. This was a greattime with great people. The Loudest Man In Town, DJ Larry Loud
I sat down with DJ Larry Loud right before the BAMC Showcast 420 Hip Hop Celebration. He was a much welcomed last minute addition to the line up. In this interview Larry talks about his back ground, growing up in a family of DJ's, serving in the United States Navy, and relocating to the Southwest where he's a radio, party, and show DJ. He just got off tour with Taiyamo Denku which is how we met. A very fun interview and hopefully the first of many collaborations.

Wicked Ink, with Pedro Devora
I sat down with a good friend and coworker who I've known for many year. Pedro Devora is Marine Corps Veteran, Lead Firefighter, Artist, and Entrepreneur. He creates and sells original vinyl stickers, mugs, cups, t-shirts, and he's ventured into tattooing. He opens his shop, Wicked Ink 915 (located at 3621 N Zaragoza) next month. Art and Comics with Mikey Clausen (Soldier Con)
At the very end of day 2 I chatted with Mickey Clausen; the owner of Mindwinder Studios in New Braunfels, Texas. He talks about owning a comic books store in El Paso in the 80's and 90's, the work he's done with major publishers including Silverline and Image, his various TMNT variant covers, his work on the original Pando Khan series as well as his major involvement in the relaunch, and Tales of the Godai which he created with his 16 year old grand daughter. It was fun meeting and getting to know an industry veteran with decades in the game.

At the end of Soldier Con Day 2 I got to chat with Anna Zhuo. She talks about getting into art, then becoming a comic variant cover artist who didn't read comics. She then started reading comings, got more and more work, and now makes appearances at conventions all over the country. A fun chat and must listen for any Coffin Comics or Lady Death fan.

Las Cruces born El Paso raised, Joe Lujan is a film maker and owner of Carcass Studios. He has made numerous movies including his current franchise The Immortal Wars. The Immortal Wars currently consists of 4 films staring Eric Roberts with #5 in the works. Films 1-3 are available on Freevee/Amazon Prime as well as standard DVD and Blu-ray. #4 is an Apple TV exclusive. A very fun and informative interview.

Las Cruces Author Teresa Samaniego
My first interview at Soldier Con was with local author Teresa aka Terry Samaniego. Albuquerque born and living in Las Cruces, she is promoting her book Birth from Ashes that she started writing in the 5th grade. It is book one of a three book series. She also has artwork associated with the series including 2 different action figure sized resign models of the main character. A great read and great interview.

Soldier Con Night 1 with Dukes Comics
Night 1 of Soldiercon I interviewed Ronnie Dukes and Dr. E.C. Dukes. They are a married couple who create comics full time and are based out of Chaparral, NM. We talk about their history and the success they've had not only in the U.S., but Mexico, Germany, and Japan as well. They are a 100% grass roots DIY company and also teach comic art and writing through various workshops, including a program at a local middle school. There is even a video game coming in the future. A very fun conversation.

Naughty Faeries Stripper Assassins
Recorded live at the Mesa Arizona Convention Center during Coffin Comics Sworn Fest 2022. I sit down with Wendy and Bill Shaner. Wendy is the creator, writer, and interior artist of Naughty Faeries Stripper Assassins, Ginger Snap, The Sireness, Naughty Faeries Wrestling, Luna Tales, and Gobblers. Bill is the support staff and logistics of the operation. We talk about how they got into comics, Naughty Faeries, Coffin/Chaos Comics, and the Kickstarter/Indy comic community in general. Wendy and Bill also talk about how to run and maintain successful Kickstarter campaigns from start to finish. We also mention and shout out many artists and friends in the indy comic community. The audio is very raw and highly edited due to background noise from the convention.

He's the owner of Rockhouse Dive Bar Kitchen Venue (and numerous other ventures) and is most known for building and keeping the metal/music scene in general alive.
