“You have to have a supply chain nowadays where it isn't all planned out upfront because you can't do that, but where you're able to speed up when needed, slow down also when needed, but be able to be very dynamic and switch directions almost on a dime,” says Bart A. De Muynck.Supply chain management and logistics is one of the most dynamic and the most sensitive industries to changes. One change in one end of the chain will trigger numerous events down the goods’ movement journey - all the way to the end consumer. Consider the most recent collision of the Francis Key Bridge in Baltimore and thousands of containers with billions of dollars worth of goods trapped for weeks in the bay. In such a business landscape, the ability to adapt and respond quickly to similar market changes is critical capability. We recently hosted Bart De Muynck, a renowned expert in the field of supply chain and logistics, who shared important insights on the evolving role of technology in enabling end-to-end visibility and agility. Bart makes a powerful point: "high velocity supply chains" are no longer about rigid planning, but about dynamic adaptation. In today's environment, companies need to be able to speed up or slow down on a dime to seize opportunities and navigate challenges. This is where visibility technology comes in. But ❓how can the emerging new platforms with rich data capabilities provide predictive insights and the flexibility to approach challenges head-on❓ ❓how can companies leverage innovative platforms to gain predictive insights and become more flexible in their approach to supply chain challenges and opportunities❓ ❓how can visibility technologies empower companies to outpace competitors and capitalize on market shifts❓ To learn more about the power of collaborative visibility tune in to the upcoming episode of the hashtag#BeyondVisibilityLounge podcast.Follow the podcast on your favorite platform and seize the opportunity to learn from an industry leader how you can unlock the power of logistics visibility for your business. 👉 The full episode goes live on Apr 23, 2024 on Spotify, Apple Podcast, YouTube Music, and YouTube. Did you know that the proliferation of fake certification documents, including CE, food safety, and FDA certifications, poses a significant threat to consumer safety and trust worldwide? Addressing this issue is paramount to safeguarding public health and ensuring the integrity of our supply chains on a global scale. I did not, so that’s what Ron and I learned during our recent conversation with Tay, who shared among others: “Then you will realize all the certification documents are pretty much all the fakes. No CE cert are fakes, the food safety, FDA cert, they are all fakes. So for consumers, they have no clue to actually verify whether whatever they are buying is genuine or not.” Clearly, digital technologies can enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency, ultimately mitigating risks and ensuring product authenticity on a global scale, and embracing data-driven auditing approaches and promoting traceability in auditing processes are essential steps towards strengthening supply chain resilience and accountability worldwide.
