Today's podcast is with Operations Manager Hanna Beck, and Execuitive Director Lisa Bahr.On Friday, March 20th, at 5 pm, A large-scale humane case was unfolding at PAWS. 37 dogs, 22 adults, and 15 puppies were brought in by Centre County Humane Officer Rusnak and team.According to the Center County Paws FB page:"These dogs are from the same property as the 6 dogs we took in just last week, bringing the total from this case to 43 dogs now in our care. Because this is an active humane investigation, further details about the case cannot be shared at this time.Our staff is all hands on deck, working to safely intake each dog and provide immediate care. Many are arriving in heartbreaking condition. They are covered in fleas and feces, and in desperate need of medical attention. Some of the puppies are only a few days old.Right now, our focus is on medical care, cleaning, warmth, and stabilization for every single dog. This is an intensive, around-the-clock effort."Saturday, March 21st, Paws FB update:"What a difference one day can make.Yesterday was a long, emotional day at PAWS as 37 dogs arrived from a Humane Case in our care. From intake to their placement in foster homes, our team worked tirelessly for over 8 hours to ensure every single dog received the care they needed.Each dog was given a full medical exam, vaccinations, nail trims, and a much-needed bath. Some required medicated baths to begin treating painful skin infections and severe flea infestations. It was a massive effort, and one we could not have done alone.Today, these dogs woke up somewhere safe. And that’s because of our incredible fosters. Thank you to every single foster who opened their home on a moment’s notice. Because of you, these dogs are no longer scared and suffering. They are resting, decompressing, and beginning their healing journey."Cases like this require significant resources, medical treatment, supplies, staff time, and ongoing care.
