Jonathan breaks down the difference between bonds and overrides in plain language: bonds fund long-term, brick-and-mortar needs like facilities, buses, HVAC systems, and technology, while overrides cover maintenance and operations such as salaries, classroom supplies, and program offerings. This distinction becomes the foundation for the entire discussion.   From there, Birdman and Jonathan walk listeners through the upcoming public study session, emphasizing transparency and process. Conducted every two years by the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission in partnership with ASU, this survey asks 8th, 10th, and 12th graders statewide about substance use, attitudes, and other behaviors. (azcjc.gov)   Why Participate? Only takes one class period, is administered electronically, and is completely anonymous. Principals get data for their own school to see what's really happening locally. Understanding both risk and protective factors helps schools tailor programs where they are needed most.
