How do we ensure Police and IPCC accountability
Many of us know when we don't follow procedures, and something goes terribly wrong, we try to cover it up, especially when the consequences are severe and there is potential retribution. Distorting the truth is one way we hope we will get away with misconduct which, in the police force, involves the IPCC, SCTDD and IAP. The police are no different, or should I say, they should be different because they are recruited to serve and protect. If the police are seen to corrupt and collude with each other, how does that deception impact the evidence-gathering process? If the evidence is based on lies, how do the investigators and prosecutors determine the truth? Lady Loy discusses corporate manslaughter and police complaint procedures on Straight Talk with Michael Doherty, Civil Liberties Campaigner and Founder of Justice Now on jamrockradio.com. Michael Doherty, Civil Liberties Campaigner is the 1st individual to privately prosecute the police for perverting the course of justice, and win!! Lady Loy wants to know whether Leon Briggs was detained under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act and whether his rights were exercised before he died in police custody. The interview hopes to touch on police accountability, the Watchdog and the IPCC and its role in the corporate manslaughters of Sean Rigg, Leon Briggs, Mark Duggan and Smiley Culture.

Lady Loy's Token Tribute to Heavy D, Part 2
Heavy D born in Jamaica (Mandeville) and was living in Mount Vernon, New York when he died. He loved Hip Hop and every now and then, he courted his Jamaican roots by patnering with numerous reggae artists. His 'Vibes' album is a must have to any reggae lovers collection! Heavy D died aged 44 years (born 24 May 1967) just a couple of months after promoting his new Opus album and just hours after sending condolences to Joe Frazier on Twitter - how ironic! We do not know the reason why he died but he leaves behind a respectful, inspiring and creative legacy for the hip hop and reggae community. May he rest in eternal peace - Managing Editor, Myrna Loy
