Coach C. Collins is ready to talk more AAU basketball, life and everything in between. In this episode, the coach had a chance to sit down with with Coach Tom of Nor Cal Dynasty and Coach Mel of HUI(formerly Hawaii Heat).  Coach Tom has been a huge part of the Northern California and Sacramento/Rocklin area coaching scene with over 16 years in the game.  Tom currently has one of the strongest independent girls programs in the area and is always doing something to push for the kids and basketball community. Whether its video's with Driffty Jay, open runs for everyone with media, or simply sitting and having conversations with his kids Coach Tom passion for the AAU space has been felt by everyone. Coach Tom was also a former YBA coach as well starting with Ken Geee the founder and coaching the first 9th grade DAWGS yba team. \ Coach Mel has been an official, director and coach and has no plans of stopping. Also he has a very notable YouTube channel and over 65K followers on instagram making funny videos and content. Coach Mel is originally from Hawaii and is a man of the people. He always shows respect to those who do the same and his son is stepping into his senior year at Rocklin high where he is hoping to go after a state title. Coach Johnson was not only a student-athlete at Sac high, winning multiple section titles but as his first year as head coach he won a section title which is a rare thing to happen in high school sports.  Coach Johnson opens up about his personal life and growth from young athlete to family man and father. One case that recently has come up is Arlisha Boykins a 22 year old coach that decided to impersonate a player in order to play a JV girls basketball game. I want to understand what has created the win at all cost mentality? Also teams that play in these AAU tournaments with high level Division one kids and holdbacks but will play them at lower levels just to secure a trophy or medal has to be discussed. Todays topic I try to tackle the question I get from a lot of parents and players how much time should you spend on your game?  There is a balance you have to be very aware of when young bodies are working to get better because if you do to little you will let the competition overtake you but on the flip side if you do to much you can run the risk of injury and "burnout" for youth athletes. There is a common theme in our western society today that men of status are allowed to be preyed upon and they just need to protect themselves. Well what, if any, should the consequences be for women caught in the act. This topic is discussed along with the story of Brian Banks a high level high school athlete who was falsely accused of rape and lost 10 years of his life.
