ThinkPad Era Begins, Peach Cottage Cheese Wins & 10,000 Concerts

I switched to my ThinkPad T470, got a questionable Walmart grocery substitution (peach cottage cheese??), and somehow it actually hit. Also in this episode: protein mashed potatoes are real, a guy with 10,000+ recorded concerts is uploading history to the internet, Kanye West comeback talk, a woman accidentally ordering the most expensive thing on the menu, and why there might be wild nutrias running around California on purpose.Random, honest, and kind of all over the place—in a good way.

  7. 142

AI Hacks Governments, Nuclear Mystery, and My First $0.31

From making my first 31 cents online to reading about AI being used to breach government systems… this episode escalates quickly. Also: why Spotify thinks I speak Spanish, early morning rain, and a bizarre case involving a missing nuclear official.Normal day, right?

Gut Bacteria, AI Drama, and Some Music!!!!

Today’s episode is a mix of health routines, random thoughts, and some interesting headlines.I talk about my current cottage cheese routine (yes, pineapple stays separate), drinking a cherry limeade Poppi, and how I might be going a little overboard with probiotics and prebiotics—basically “fibermaxxing” and “bacteria-maxxing” at this point. Then I get into some thoughts on microplastics (including something weird about kitty litter), and shift into a discussion about the buzz around Anthropic’s new AI model, Mythos. Some experts are pushing back on the hype—but it raises a bigger question: are competitors downplaying it on purpose?I also react to a fun article about trying new Little Debbie desserts… including a surprising winner. Then, I play some random music.A little bit of everything in this one.

  9. 140

    Rainy Morning Thoughts & News

Today’s episode starts simple—morning routines, cottage cheese, and gut health—before drifting into the weird and interesting. We talk about microplastics floating in the air, a missing (and expensive) drone, and some questionable snack innovations like marshmallow peanut butter and pimento cheese crackers. Plus a quick look at new AI cybersecurity tools and a few random projects I’ve been working on lately.

I just talk about how the Late Show with Stephen Colbert is being replaced with Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen. I talk about how unfunny Comics Unleashed is. And how Anthropic' latest model, Claude Mythos, is too powerful to be released. Also, is Sam Altman to be trusted? Listen and enjoy. I hope everyone out there is doing well.

New Mic, Bricked Phone, Sonoma County Misappropriating Funds

First, I talk about random life updates whilst utilizing a new Saramonic Air SE. Then, I talk about my bricked phone. THEN. FOR THE MAIN STORY TODAY...Sonoma County voters approved Measure O to fund mental health, addiction recovery, and homelessness services—but is the money being used as intended? Out of $33.1 million generated, just $625,740 has gone toward housing. In this episode, we dig into where the rest is going, why mental health facilities are receiving the bulk of funding, and what that means for the region’s homelessness crisis.I dive into Sonoma County’s Measure O tax and something that doesn’t quite add up. The program has brought in over $33 million, but less than $1 million has gone toward housing services. So where is the rest going? We talk about mental health funding, homelessness, and whether the system is actually helping people get off the streets.

No New Updates (Friend Probably Can't Watch The Cats) + Discord Antics

Today’s episode is a mix of real-life stress and online nonsense. My friend might not be able to watch my cats after saying she would, and on top of that, Discord has been… interesting, thanks to a certain international user. If you’ve ever dealt with flaky plans or weird internet moments, this one’s for you.

So… My Cat Plan Might Not Work

QUICK UPDATE!!!! I found a temporary home for my cats, Starshine and Sydney!!!!!!!!

  20. 129

    Walmart Haul + Life Updates

Today’s episode is a mix of the simple and the serious. I go through my Walmart delivery grocery haul—what I got, why I chose it, and how I’m trying to stay grounded in the middle of everything.I also talk about what’s coming next: my plan to move into the Bridges housing program and what that transition could look like. The biggest piece right now is finding a temporary foster home for my cats before I can make that move, which has been weighing on me a lot. It’s a real-time snapshot of where I’m at—figuring things out, taking small steps, and trying to move forward even when it feels uncertain.

  21. 128

Too Tired to Figure It All Out

Just a quick check-in today. I’m feeling really tired and trying to figure out my next move—whether to go straight to the Bridges temporary housing program or take the longer route through Opportunity House.I also started writing a Craigslist and Nextdoor post to try and find a place for my cats, but I haven’t actually posted it yet. This episode is kind of a snapshot of where I’m at mentally right now—no big conclusions, just real life in progress.

  22. 127

I Have to Temporarily Give Up My Cats

I had an interview today that could change my life — a real chance at stability, housing, something better. There’s just one problem: I can’t bring my cats.In this episode, I talk about Starshine and Sydney, what they mean to me, and the impossible decision I’m facing — stay in an unstable situation to keep them, or let them go so I can move forward.I don’t have an answer yet. I just know I have to figure it out soon.

  23. 126

Real Support, Real Stories — Buckelew Programs

Today’s episode is part of Podcasthon, a global movement where podcasters highlight causes they care about.I’m talking about Buckelew Programs, a Northern California nonprofit that supports people facing mental health and addiction challenges. We’ll talk about why mental health matters, how small things like slime can help us slow down, and how you can support this amazing organization.buckelew.org

Ides of March Smoothies: Walmart Groceries, Healthy Habits & Hanging with the Cats

On the Ides of March, Bree checks in from home while hanging out with the cats and recording on a Blue Yeti USB Microphone. After two months of dieting and eating healthier, things are feeling noticeably better—both physically and mentally. This episode is a laid-back grocery haul and lifestyle update: smoothie experiments with a Hamilton Beach Personal Blender, fruit-heavy snacks (bananas, apples, oranges), frozen strawberries, frozen Greek yogurt, and cottage cheese cups. There’s also a mix of practical pantry items like Ben's Original Spanish-style rice, organic black beans, ramen, and deli-style tuna salad pouches.Bree talks about simple healthy eating habits, Walmart grocery delivery, smoothie routines, and the small changes that can make you feel better day to day. Plus, a quick life update—including a monthly contribution from dad and thoughts about Sweetgreen.A casual, real-life check-in about food, routines, and figuring out what works.

  25. 124

Fresh Air, Healthy Eating, and Chocolate That Isn’t Chocolate

It’s been over a week since the last episode, so I’m easing back in—talking about the weather, eating healthier, and why I’ve started “burping” the air in my apartment every morning. Apparently this very normal thing has a name, is big on social media, and has been standard practice in Germany forever. I also go on a mini-rant about how candy recipes are quietly changing, thanks to an investigation by The New York Times. A relaxed catch-up episode about fresh air, stale air, and shrinking chocolate.

  26. 123

    Nothing in Particular

This episode is a low-key check-in.I talk about sleep, coffee, the cats, and whatever else happens to be on my mind — some life updates, some small observations, a little bit of everything. No big topic, no agenda. Just talking through the moment and letting things land where they land.If you’re listening while doing something else, or just need some background company, this one’s for that.

  27. 122

Cat Chaos at Midnight & Why I'm Drinking Cold Instant Coffee

Bree is running on fumes after her cats decided that one nighttime feeding just wasn't enough—try FOUR. From the 9pm bedtime that seemed so responsible to the 5am wake-up call that broke her spirit, this episode is a deep dive into the reality of pet ownership that nobody warns you about. But it's not all chaos! Bree's also breaking in her new SE X1 A microphone (and yes, you can totally hear the difference), and sharing her brutally honest take on making cold instant coffee because sometimes survival trumps taste. If you've ever been woken up by a meowing terrorist or made coffee decisions you're not proud of, you'll feel seen.Perfect for listening while your own pets judge you.

  28. 121

    Something’s in the Air

Over the course of three days — January 28th, 29th, and 30th — I recorded bits and pieces without really knowing what they’d turn into. There was a shelter-in-place alert in Santa Rosa. There was confusion. There was a gas leak. And there was a brand new microphone sitting in front of me.This episode stitches together those clips as they happened — before I knew what was going on, while I was figuring it out, and after things finally made sense. A loose, unplanned audio journal of uncertainty, curiosity, and testing the sE X1 A while the world outside felt slightly off.

  29. 120

Fibermaxxing in the Morning, Hot Honey at Night

In today’s episode of The Slime Show, I talk about the absolute insanity happening in the food world right now — and what it says about us as a culture in 2026.We’re living through two completely contradictory food trends at the same time: fibermaxxing, where people are obsessively optimizing their gut health, and the rise of “swicy,” “swangy,” and “swavory” flavors, where corporations are putting hot honey and chili into everything, including breakfast cereal. We’re drinking prebiotic sodas for our microbiomes while eating spicy-sweet chaos because it’s fun — and somehow both things feel necessary.I get into TikTok wellness culture, Gen Z’s ironic sincerity, why everyone suddenly cares about fiber, how corporations are betting billions on gut health and flavor overload, and why doctors are warning people to slow down before fibermaxxing their way into digestive distress. We talk hot honey, portmanteau flavors, trend fatigue, and the weird anxiety that comes with trying to optimize your body while also just wanting to enjoy food.Ultimately, this is an episode about contradiction: caring deeply while pretending not to, gamifying wellness, turning eating into content, and trying to survive the moment we’re in. I don’t have answers — but I do have thoughts, coffee, sparkling water, cats, and a growing curiosity about hot honey cereal.

  30. 119

    Otroverts, Britney, and Fake Microphones

In this episode: Britney Spears' latest dance video and the double standards around aging women in the public eye, discovering the term "otrovert" and why some people are social but never quite sync up with groups, and microphone obsession when you're broke.

When ICE Hired a Journalist Who Never Applied (Plus Red Streetlights & Havana Syndrome Devices)

Happy Saturday! Bree (aka Slime) is back with Sydney on the bed and Starshine napping in the cat tree cubby. Today's episode covers dad's toilet phone disaster and his new Motorola Moto G Power, decluttering microphones for Craigslist cash, and getting ready to dive into Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. But the main story will keep you up at night: journalist and veteran Laura Jedeed attended an ICE recruitment expo as a reporter, deliberately didn't complete her paperwork, and somehow still received a final job offer and start date to become a deportation officer. What does this say about how ICE is vetting its 12,000 new hires? When an openly anti-ICE journalist can sail through the system, who else is getting badges and guns? Also covered: Denmark's mysterious red streetlights, the U.S. government obtaining a potential Havana Syndrome device, Neil Young's scathing take on ICE, why Delcy Rodríguez (not Gonzales) is now leading Venezuela, and why Bree's switching from ChatGPT to Claude AI.Pour yourself some Trader Joe's seltzer and settle in—this one's a wild ride through bureaucratic chaos, federal incompetence, and what happens when nobody's actually checking who we're arming and sending into American communities.

  32. 117

Clapping Is Violent and Other Thoughts That Keep Me Up

Today on the show: We dive deep into María Corina Machado handing her Nobel Peace Prize to Trump (is it pandering? manipulation? genuine support?), the constitutional implications, and what it means when foreign policy might be shaped by ego-stroking. Then we spiral about why humans express appreciation by violently slapping their hands together — seriously, who came up with clapping?Next up: the darkest Would You Rather ever. Would you want to know the DATE of your death or the CAUSE? I go back and forth about seventeen times and honestly still don't have a solid answer. Spoiler: both options are nightmare fuel. Also: I want another instant film camera (the Kodak Charmera is cute but not worth it), Greenland is apparently worth $700 billion, and the US is big mad about the EU's "cheese monopoly" in a new South America trade deal. It's chaos. It's existential dread. Let's go, Slimers.

  33. 116

Life Updates, Viral Trends, and Music Audiophiles Love

In today’s episode, Bree (aka Slime) hangs out with the cats, talks about a surprisingly warm January day, and recaps a grocery run that somehow turned into buying 18 containers of strawberry milk. We get into cat food restocks, Trader Joe’s finds, Costco chaos, and why ice cream trucks are still roaming around in the middle of winter. There’s also a quick life update — switching podcast hosts to Transistor, recovering over 60 old episodes, assembling a $20 Amazon table, and the ongoing frustration of USB-C adapters that just refuse to cooperate. Plus, a new (used) ThinkPad joins the setup, perfume thoughts, and a little rant about a displaced beaver on Gold Rush. Then we dive into what the internet is obsessed with right now:The viral cheese-stuffed sweet potato trendParents cracking eggs into boxed mac and cheeseThe completely random but somehow viral 365 Buttons memeTo wrap things up, there’s a tease of audiophile album rankings, Dire Straits, and why some trends go viral for absolutely no reason at all.Cozy, chaotic, and very Slime. 💚🎙️

Expired Bagels & Emotional Clues We Leave Behind

In this episode, I do a casual life catch-up: grocery delivery wins and fails, coffee, ramen n cheese, spoiled cats, Hell’s Kitchen, and what I’ve been watching lately.I also read and discuss an article about subtle signs someone may be struggling emotionally based on their living space, and share some personal thoughts along the way.Low-pressure, chatty, and real.

  35. 114

Protests, Perfume, MGA Miniverse and Other Weekend Thoughts

I talk about wearing a “leave me alone” sweatshirt that somehow invites conversation, struggling with webcam setups and being stuck using a very heavy laptop, and realizing I’ve been unintentionally misled by the internet (again).I also get into:- Watching TV out of order without realizing it - Finally starting a new season of a show- Doing laundry (a real accomplishment)- Ordering Oakcha perfume even though I don’t usually wear fragrance- Noticing protests happening locally and around the country- Thinking about health trends and new medications- Wanting tiny fake food from MGA’s MiniverseLow-stakes thoughts, pop culture confusion, and everyday observations.

Quiet Morning Check-In Before Therapy... then INDIE MUSIC!!!!

Welcome to The Slime Show 🐌I’m Bree — also known as Slime — just hanging out, talking through my morning and easing into the day.In this episode, I ramble about:- Being up way too early (5:30am club, unfortunately)- Natural light vs. ring lights for recording- Cats, garbage day, and the neighbor’s dog not getting into the trash- An upcoming therapy appointment and not knowing what to talk about- My ridiculous laptop situation (yes, I have three)- String cheese eating habits (judge me)- Diet sodas, artificial sweeteners, and drink tier rankings- Hells Kitchen final three thoughtsThe video portion ends early — the audio-only podcast continues with indie music talk and recommendations.

No One Showed Up, My Dad Canceled, and the ’90s Were Wild

In today’s episode of The Slime Show, I spend the first few minutes getting the tech to cooperate before talking about the unusually nice January weather and a midnight earthquake alert I slept right through.I share about going to a Women for Sobriety meeting where attendance was sparse, taking a nap, and dealing with the disappointment of my dad canceling on me yet again — and how family favoritism still hurts no matter how old you are.I also read and react to an article about behaviors from the 1990s that were once socially acceptable but wouldn’t stand a chance today.A quiet day, a lot of thoughts, and some very honest reflection.

  38. 111

Coffee Before Tea, Orange Cheese Lies & Trump Wants Greenland (Me Precious Titanium!!!!)

Welcome to The Slime Show 🐌In today’s episode, I start off just hanging out and talking about life — my friend Sen wanting to adopt a cat, my glasses fogging up again, how it’s weirdly hot for January, and hoping my dad doesn’t bail on our plans tomorrow. Then things spiral (as they do).We get into:☕ The surprising drink Brits loved before tea (yes, it was coffee)🧀 Why orange cheese is basically a centuries-old marketing gimmick🌍 Why Trump wants Greenland — national security, missile defense, and… PRECIOUS METALS. ME PRECIOUS GOLD AND TITANIUM.It’s history, culture, current events, and random thoughts — no script, no polish, just vibes. Thanks for watching / listening 💚If you like laid-back chaos and weird facts, you’re in the right place.

#1. NUMERO UNO. HEAVY IS THE CROWN!!!!

Today I checked my Goodpods rankings and somehow landed at #1 in the Indie Entertainment News weekly chart. Still processing that — but I’m not letting it go to my head. I’m still just doing my own thing.I talk about the strange category I keep ranking in, even though I haven’t really talked about entertainment news in a while. Sometimes it’s news, sometimes science, sometimes just life — and I’m not trying to turn into the next TMZ.I also talk about the weather warming up, ordering new glasses, and adding a batch of older Slime Show episodes from July 2025 — when I think I sounded a little more confident.Later, I read and react to articles about a new MTV Simulator website that recreates classic MTV from different decades, and I reminisce about 90s and early 2000s MTV — The Real World, Road Rules, and Spring Break concerts.Just hanging out. No hype. No act.

Somehow… This Podcast Is Top 10

In today’s episode of The Slime Show, I record the first-ever video segment of the podcast and just hang out, talk life, and check in with the cats on a rainy day.I start things off with some exciting news: The Slime Show is officially ranking on Goodpods, including breaking into the Top 10 Personal Journals weekly chart. Thank you to everyone listening and supporting the show. From there, it’s a classic Slime Show stream-of-consciousness episode — cats lounging around the room, being tired after 10 hours of sleep, a sore tongue, candy snacks, and random everyday thoughts. I also talk about Netflix cracking down on account sharing and why my dad won’t let me use his account. After the video portion ends, the audio-only part of the episode continues with music, politics, and current events. I play and talk about “When I Get My Hands On You” by The New Basement Tapes, a song originally written by Bob Dylan during the 1967 Basement Tapes era.I also talk about going down a mini rabbit hole watching old Barack Obama videos, talk about him being such a powerful speaker, and reflect on how different leadership felt during that time.To wrap things up, I react to a local article claiming Santa Rosa is the safest city in California, share why I’m skeptical of the ranking, and then dive into international news — including the situation in Venezuela, U.S. imperialism in the Western Hemisphere, and a New York Times article discussing Trump’s comments on Venezuela, Colombia, and the so-called “Donroe Doctrine.”As always, this episode is part personal journal, part media commentary, and part just hanging out.🎧 Listen to the full episode at theslimeshow.com or wherever you get your podcasts.

Rainy Weather, a New Mic (Blue Ember), and a Stuffed Frog

In today’s episode of The Slime Show, I’m testing out a new microphone — the Blue Ember — which I picked up for $35 on Amazon and just arrived today. It’s been raining on and off here the past few days, and I woke up with a headache that I think might be weather-related.I talk about hanging out with my Dad on Thursday, January 1st, where we went for a drive, he gave me my Christmas present (a stuffed frog), and some money to buy clothes. I also play a short clip from when we were in the car together.I share some thoughts about feeling like my recent podcast episodes have been a little boring, sleeping a lot lately, doing laundry (and possibly using too much detergent), and figuring out groceries with what I currently have on hand. I also talk about wanting to start making YouTube videos again and picking up a webcam, ring light, and tripod.Just a relaxed, everyday check-in episode.

  42. 107

Rainy Days, Mic Shootouts, and Acupuncture Seeds

In this episode of The Slime Show, I’m just hanging out at home with the cats on a rainy day. It’s been cool, gloomy weather lately, and it looks like the rain isn’t stopping anytime soon.I talk about heading out to pick up my medications, getting my monthly Abilify injection, taking an Uber, and breaking one of my usual routines when I got home. From there, I dive into today’s recording setup — the full Audio-Technica bundle experience — including the AT2005USB microphone (running XLR into a Vocaster One), ATH-M20x headphones, and recording in Audacity on EndeavourOS Linux.I also do a microphone shootout between three handheld dynamics: the Audio-Technica AT2005USB, Samson Q2U, and Fifine Tank 2. I play clips from each mic multiple times and share my own impressions, feedback from people on Discord, and ChatGPT’s surprisingly detailed take — including why the AT2005USB ended up being the best match for my voice, even compared to a fake Shure MV7.I talk about what I’ve been watching lately, including Undercover Boss and Dragons’ Den, and go down a small rabbit hole about acupuncture seeds (auriculotherapy) after seeing them pitched on the show.To wrap things up, I read and talk about 5 of the most popular Google Nano Banana prompts users loved in 2025.Low-key, rainy-day vibes, mic talk, and just thinking out loud — thanks for listening.

  43. 106

Hanging Out With the Cats & the Behringer C2

In this episode of The Slime Show podcast, I’m just hanging out and checking in. I talk about being really tired lately, possibly from the weather or sleep issues, and recording from bed with the cats — Starshine and Sydney — keeping me company.I get into some microphone and audio gear talk, including switching boom arms, using the Behringer C2 again, pop filters vs windscreens, capsule sizes, and testing out some older mics I own. I also talk about watching Undercover Boss, Dragons’ Den, and my thoughts on Peavey after seeing their episode.Nothing big is happening — no New Year’s plans, no big announcements — just a low-key episode about audio, TV, and hanging out.

  44. 105

Behringer C2 Mic Test (Plus a Very DIY Windscreen)

In this episode, I test out and talk about the Behringer C2 microphone, a pair I was lucky enough to get for free earlier this summer. I mess around with a very DIY setup—using a Shure MV7 windscreen held on with a rubber band, plus a pop filter—to see how it sounds and feels in real use. I also had to wrap a sock around it to fit it in the mic clip.Along the way, I talk about hanging out with my dad and going for a drive, and I also get into a brief itch scare after my friend came over with his dog. The itching went away, but just to be safe I treated the cats, swapped out blankets and sheets, showered, and vacuumed the house.A relaxed, stream-of-consciousness episode about mic testing, everyday moments, and taking care of things as they come.

  45. 104

Christmas Gripes, Awkward Hangout, Staple Remover Teeth, and Undercover Boss Talk

This episode is kind of all over the place — in the best way.I start off by talking about a Christmas episode I ended up deleting, where I opened up about not seeing my dad on Christmas and some ongoing frustrations around our relationship, all while waiting for my friends to show up. Also, I’m pretty sure I saw a squirrel running around with either a frog in its mouth… or maybe just leaves. After pausing the recording to hang out with my friends, I come back feeling awkward, nervous, and way too in my own head, talking about how bad I am at socializing and how tense I felt the whole time. From there, I spiral into microphone talk — debating between the Sennheiser Profile USB and the Sennheiser MK4, including a clip of me using the MK4 at the Santa Rosa Central Library over the summer. Then things get important: my cats have what I can only describe as staple-remover teeth, which leads to what is obviously a billion-dollar product idea — a cat-shaped staple remover where the teeth are the remover.I also talk about binge-watching Undercover Boss on the SoReal YouTube channel over Christmas, specifically the Oriental Trading Company episode. We get into the infamous voice-directed warehouse system “Jennifer,” how terrifyingly fast it talks, how it magically knew a product was damaged, and why the show clearly edited it to make the AI look smarter than it really is. Spoiler: a human probably said “damaged,” but that’s not as good for TV.Between the strict “don’t touch the sports drinks” rule, a wildly out-of-touch CEO, a 25-cent raise presented like a miracle, and the company’s eventual bankruptcy, this episode might have done more harm than good to their image. And finally, I wrap things up by questioning my dad’s snack recommendations — specifically why Sargento parmesan and oregano crackers are nowhere near as cheesy as I was promised. It’s awkward, observant, a little bitter, and unintentionally funny — basically just my brain, recorded.

  46. 103

The Slime Show Christmas Eve Special

It’s Christmas Eve, it’s raining hard, and I’m just hanging out.On today’s cozy holiday episode of The Slime Show, I talk about unusually warm December weather, hanging out with my dad and running errands, buying an unreasonable amount of Boursin cheese, and why the McDonald’s ice cream machine is broken in every country on Earth.I also talk about a YouTube travel vlogger who flew to India and Pakistan just to compare McDonald’s, mourn the quiet death of MTV’s music channels, react to Del Taco being sold for shockingly cheap, and discuss humanoid robots being deployed for border patrol (which is… unsettling).Plus: cat updates, Christmas vibes, car audio clips, nostalgia for old tech, and a general sense of “what is happening right now?”No episode tomorrow, so this is my holiday send-off.Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and thanks for listening 💚

i recorded myself sleeping and now i’m scared (and a lot more stuff)

today’s been slow. the handymen were back on the front deck, the mailman showed up way late, and i napped through most of the day — despite being convinced i might have sleep apnea. i recorded myself sleeping and honestly? i regret it. i sound like a large animal. possibly a boar. possibly an elephant.i talk about being embarrassed by my snoring, hanging out with my dad before christmas, a friend who wants to visit with a service dog (my cats have opinions), and a small logo tweak i made.also in this episode: report of the week’s shortwave radio show, choosing invisibility as my superpower, anthony fantano’s top 50 list (and the only two songs i actually liked), why i prefer solitude, russian-labeled snickers showing up in the uk, trump talking about greenland, regional american food classics, and the rediscovery of UNIX v4.low energy, mildly horrified, but fully present.

Sampling the Nation (Zero Loyalty, Maximum Stimulation)

The Bay Area braces for the heaviest rain yet as I do what any responsible adult would do: finally take a shower, eat extremely spicy chips, and blame my digestive system on cream cheese & onion Ritz Crisp Thins. We talk flood watches, hot snacks that lie about how spicy they are, and why sweetness somehow makes pain worse. I spiral into why I’m tired all the time (sleep apnea? blood sugar? vibes?), roast a “skilled” cold caller who absolutely was not skilled, and marvel at the fact that vinyl sales are higher than they’ve been since 1984.Plus: cats manipulating men through excessive meowing, Spotify allegedly being scraped into oblivion, and my new favorite way to listen to music — six alternative radio stations open at once, zero loyalty, maximum stimulation.I’m not listening to a station.I’m sampling the nation.

  49. 100

Just Hanging Out on a Rainy Sunday

It’s a rainy Sunday episode of the slime show.Bree hangs out with a brand-new (fake) Shure MV7, takes a drive to Guerneville with her dad for Starbucks hot chocolate (rated an 8.5), and records car-ride audio using a Hollyland Lark M2 pulled straight out of the backpack. There’s a nostalgic dive into FM radio—sampling station IDs, remembering growing up with WHUD in the Hudson Valley, and reflecting on why radio still feels comforting. From there, the episode jumps to MTV Cribs nostalgia (including Redman’s legendary Staten Island duplex), travel vloggers who talk way too much, and why being lost in a foreign metro system is not “fun,” it’s pure fight-or-flight.Bree also reacts to Sally’s Apizza’s massive nationwide expansion plans, and breaks down New Haven–style apizza lore. The episode wraps up with tech nostalgia—MP3 players, wired headphones, Zunes, iPods—and a soft spot for opting out of modern streaming chaos.Low stakes, rainy vibes, food articles, radio static, and mild existential panic—just another Sunday on the slime show.

    Counterfeit Mic, Genuine Thoughts

Welcome back to the slime show.I’m Bree — also known as Slime — and I’m just hanging out. We’re six days out and I still haven’t gotten my Dad a gift. I talk about weather-induced headaches, nonstop rain, suspiciously warm December temperatures, and the handymen rebuilding the front deck while I vacuum and do laundry like a productive adult.I’m also using a counterfeit Shure MV7 (yes, really), tweaking DSP through the Shure Motiv app via my phone because I use Linux, and overanalyzing how bright podcast microphones are supposed to sound. There’s a full grocery haul breakdown — Costco, Target, Trader Joe’s — including lemonade (my favorite drink), Olipop, multiple cheeses (Boursin, baby Swiss, black truffle cheddar), chocolate mousse cake, and a passionate defense of the Trader Joe’s lemon chicken & arugula salad (which I may like better without the chicken). We get into new headphones, backup earbuds, Podcasthon prep, charity picks, creative rust, and my very serious desire to abandon beds entirely in favor of a human-sized cat tree as housing.Low stakes. Too many thoughts. Same slime. Also discussed:– A metal-blasting Uber ride vs. my germophobia– Travel vloggers who don’t blend in– Kazakhstan looking incredible– Why the band Geese is… fine– And how Snoopy selling feels weird, even if it’s not newLow stakes. Too many thoughts. Same slime.
