Our strategies in communication and relationships, to navigate adversity
B & K have really had to lean on their tools and 'tried and tested' strategies for fabulous communication in their relationships in the home. Particularly lately with the change in home roles. When there is a change in the dynamics in a relationship (marriage in our case), it puts extra stress on partner roles and routines. Such as a partner working away and the other spouse is now at home with an increased workload. Here are some things discussed that B & K use:Get to know your partner/people in the relationship so you know the best way to communicate (this is pivotal)Weekly check-ins where feelings are removed from problem focused chatsThere is no tit-for-tat or talliesCommunicate your needs, using phrases such as, "I feel/I realised/I need" instead of starting with blame or shameIf you feel worried of your partners response when communicating your feelings, generate some ground rules and ask that no retaliation or defences are brought it. A phrase such as, "The story I'm telling myself is..." helps to express your thoughts in a calm way and removes victim modeFind ways other than talking to share information and feelings. Ie. Memes, text messages, an agreed upon emoji for when you want to respond but don't have the words, write letters or have a diary to write notes to each otherConnect with your spouse intimately without any expectations. Snuggling to sleep, to help strengthen to loveWe'd love to hear from you, if these were helpful or if you've got any other strategies that work for you. Hit the link for our IG and send us a DM. How wild is the energy at the moment?!
B & K have experienced quite a lot of intense energy in their lives the last month. Are you feeling it too? It feels as though everything is playing at double speed.Challenges just seem to keep rolling in, requiring growth to move through to the next phase. Or perhaps you have experienced some thoughts similar to the girls like, "Why can't you give me something good Universe?!" or "Can I catch a break?"This is a slippery slope of thoughts though isn't it. You start to think like this and very quickly you move in victim mentality, and nothing will ever seem to be a good experience. However, it is very healthy to express your feelings and start to evaluate it as, how can I find a way through this adversity? What could I do to help myself or give myself more grace during this period? It's a good old chinwag of life, so grab a cuppa and we'll see you on the other side.

A little insider into their challenges, to shed light and bring some solidarity to your day.B is experiencing peri-menopausal symptoms and it has been difficult to navigate, especially with a pubescent daughter in the house. Mind fog, lack of sleep and feeling a lack of control on the connection between mind and body are discussed. B shares how she is navigating these symptoms.K has limited time with her husband currently and is finding, due to the pressure of time and spending majority of her weeks in masculine energy, dropping into her body to connect intimately with her husband has been tricky. It’s not usually K’s issue, so she sheds some light on what she’s doing to address it.

Why women coming together is key
K went along to a networking event for women, to mingle and meet new people in her community. It spurred this conversation with B, as she was reminded how powerful it is to bring women together. The conversation flowed naturally to why and how women have stopped leaning on their village and how community members can correct this terrible gap in health and wellness.Losing friends, finding friends after children or change in life circumstances, and feeling like your career impacts your friendships deeply are all spoken about. A down to earth chat, just like you’re having a coffee with B&K.

Our journeys to coming home
Welcome to the very first podcast episode! In this ep, Krysten and Bec get vulnerable with how they have come to know who they are and the life experiences that challenged them into each new version of themselves.Unique and perfectly themselves, they have journeyed through mental health struggles, criticism and sabotage, a ripping open of oneself from becoming a mother for the first time, navigating careers and all the challenges of forging their own path. One dominant aspect of their life so far, was that they had self-trust to guide them.Self-trust tips:Ask yourself, are you being who you want to be?Find the activity/moment/task/environment where you feel like your most true self.
