    #059 Funcle

The other day my girlfriend and I took my niece out for pizza, ice cream, and a trip to the park. It wasn’t a big event, just a simple after-birthday celebration and a chance to spend some one-on-one time with her.In this episode I talk about why moments like that matter. The days go by fast, and the little ones in our lives won’t stay little forever. One day she’ll be grown, living her own life, maybe with kids of her own.If taking the time to create a simple day of fun gives her one golden memory she can look back on someday when life gets hard, then I’ve done my job as a proud funcle.Sometimes the smallest moments are the ones that last the longest.Brown Overboard hosted by Josh Bam Bam BrownNew Episodes every WED & SUN at 6pm PT / 9pm ETSubscribe and let's go Overboard!

    #036 - Rockwell Christmas

In this episode, I talk about Christmas and share memories from past holidays growing up on boats, deep in the forest, and surrounded by family. I reflect on what Christmas felt like back then, how it compares to now, and the moments that still stand out years later.I also talk about how my dad always tried to give us the perfect Rockwell Christmas. Looking back, I’m not sure he ever realized that he succeeded. Every Christmas we had, no matter the setting, the imperfections, or what else was going on, truly was a Rockwell Christmas because of the love, care, and magic we shared as a family. Those moments shaped my childhood and made the holidays something I’ll always carry with me.I share stories about spending Christmas in unexpected places, including a memorable trip to Aspen, something my mom and dad had always wanted to do. This episode is about family, gratitude, and the kind of Christmas magic that stays with you long after the season ends.Brown Overboard hosted by Josh Bam Bam BrownNew Episodes every WED & SUN at 6pm PT / 9pm ETSubscribe and let's go Overboard!

#035 - Be Who You Want to Love

In this episode, I talk about relationships and why some of them end, even when two people genuinely care for each other. I break down how easy it is to start taking someone for granted without ever realizing it, how the little things fade, routines take over, and we forget to appreciate what we have until it’s gone.I share the way I see it: the best relationship advice is the same advice I have for being a good person. Be the partner you would want. Show up the way you wish someone would show up for you. Pay attention to how your person moves through the world, what they need, and who they’re trying to become. And above all, never forget what it means to have someone in your life, not if you truly care for them.Brown Overboard hosted by Josh Bam Bam BrownNew Episodes every WED & SUN at 6pm PT / 9pm ETSubscribe and let's go Overboard!

#039 Starting Over Again, and Again, and Again…

In this episode, I talk about losing everything you own and having to start over. For me, that isn’t a metaphor. It’s been a way of life. I’ve lost everything more than once, and I know it will probably happen again at some point. Over time, you learn what really matters and what doesn’t.I reflect on why stuff is just stuff, and why time, health, and the people we love are the only things that truly hold value. I also share the story of when the family home my dad built by hand burned down when I was a kid, and what that loss taught me about resilience, perspective, and starting over. This episode is about letting go, rebuilding, and understanding what’s worth carrying forward when everything else is gone. Even if that means you don’t own a pair of shoes.Brown Overboard hosted by Josh Bam Bam BrownNew Episodes every WED & SUN at 6pm PT / 9pm ETSubscribe and let's go Overboard!

#038 - Why We Say More

In this episode, I talk about loss, and about the one truth we all have to face, life is finite. It might not seem like it now, but sooner or later everything ends.I reflect on what it means to lose someone, the weight of unspoken words, and the importance of letting the people in your life know that you care about them while you still can. Because you never truly know if the last time you say goodbye will be the last time.No one knows when that final goodbye will come. But one day, that door closes, and once it closes it never opens again. This is a quiet, reflective episode about love, loss, and choosing to embrace life.Brown Overboard hosted by Josh Bam Bam BrownNew Episodes every WED & SUN at 6pm PT / 9pm ETSubscribe and let's go Overboard!

    #034 - Living the Journey

In this episode, I talk about how much I love to travel and the role it’s played throughout my life. I share memories of growing up on boats in Southeast Alaska, exploring remote islands, and living a life where the ocean was our highway. Now, in the lower 48, the open road has become that same kind of freedom. I’ve crossed America multiple times and had the chance to explore places like New York City, Moab, Sedona, and White Sands. I also talk about traveling with my family, our trip to Hawaii, driving the Road to Hana, and the story behind one of my most prized possessions. This episode is all about movement, exploration, and what it means to truly live the journey.Brown Overboard hosted by Josh Bam Bam BrownNew Episodes every WED & SUN at 6pm PT / 9pm ETSubscribe and let's go Overboard!

    #032 - Stay Strong

In this episode, I talk about the importance of physical fitness and how staying active has shaped my life. Growing up in the bush meant I didn’t have a choice, survival required strength, but over time, working out became something I genuinely loved.I reflect on how movement, in any form, can improve every part of your life, and how even small, consistent actions add up. You don’t have to train like an athlete; you just have to keep moving forward. And I share a piece of wisdom my dad always told us:“It’s not how much you lift, it’s how many times you lift it.”A reminder that discipline, effort, and consistency matter more than anything else.Brown Overboard hosted by Josh Bam Bam BrownNew Episodes every WED & SUN at 6pm PT / 9pm ETSubscribe and let's go Overboard!

    #030 Turning Pages

In this episode, I talk about my dad’s writings, the children’s stories, the novels, and the ideas he left behind after he passed. I share what it’s like going through those pages now, trying to turn them into real books, and the responsibility that comes with honoring a legacy built from ink and imagination.I also talk about the journey of building a publishing company from the ground up, and what it means to fight for these stories so my nieces, nephews, and future generations can grow up with the same magic we did. If these books are ever going to become real, I have to stay committed, keep pushing, and keep believing in what he created. This episode is about family, legacy, creativity, and the work it takes to carry something meaningful into the future.Brown Overboard hosted by Josh Bam Bam BrownNew Episodes every WED & SUN at 6pm PT / 9pm ETSubscribe and let's go Overboard!

#029 - The Myth of Toxic Masculinity

In this episode, I talk about masculinity, femininity, and what those words actually mean based on the life I grew up living. I was raised in the bush of Alaska by an extremely masculine man, in a world with almost no feminine presence, and that gave me a very different understanding of the differences between men and women.I explain why I don’t believe in terms like toxic masculinity or toxic femininity, and why I think there are simply toxic people, not gender specific toxic traits. I also talk about how skills like sewing, starting a fire, building, cooking, or creating art aren’t masculine or feminine at all, they’re just human skills some of which are necessary for survival and are skills everyone should know.I share why emotional discipline and stoic strength are as important for men today as they always have been. And I talk about why I believe:“Masculinity makes survival possible.Femininity makes it worthwhile.”This episode is about my perspective, shaped by survival, philosophy, and lived experience. If you’re trying to make sense of these ideas in a world full of mixed messages, this one’s for you.Brown Overboard hosted by Josh Bam Bam BrownNew Episodes every WED & SUN at 6pm PT / 9pm ETSubscribe and let's go Overboard!

    #028 - A Worthwhile Pursuit

In this episode, I talk about what it really means to have a “real job,” what makes someone a productive member of society, and who gets to decide what a worthwhile pursuit looks like.I share my perspective from the life I’ve lived, a life far outside the nine-to-five and why I believe an ordinary path and an outlandish dream both hold the same value if they lead you toward a life that feels true.Whether you work a steady shift at a coffee shop or you’re chasing something wild and unconventional, the only person who can measure the worth of your life is you. What matters is living with purpose, intention, and honesty.Brown Overboard hosted by Josh Bam Bam BrownNew Episodes every WED & SUN at 6pm PT / 9pm ETSubscribe and let's go Overboard!

    #027 Live Free Stay Wild

For me growing up in the wild shaped the way I look at life and how I move through the world. How I see things from the forest looking out. Compared to people who grew up in cities who see nature as something “out there,” separate from their reality.Tonight, I talk about how through generations of life in man-made environments and the ever-changing world of advancing technology, most people have become distanced from their natural connection to the energy of our planet, and how reconnecting with nature can improve your life.Consider this your reminder that we all come from the wild whether we remember it or not.Brown Overboard hosted by Josh Bam Bam BrownNew Episodes every WED & SUN at 6pm PT / 9pm ETSubscribe and let's go Overboard!
