In this episode of Bulldogs in the Buggy, Father Jim is joined by senior student-athlete Amy Wood for a candid and thoughtful ride across campus that reflects on her DeSales journey and what it truly means to be a Bulldog.Amy shares how a chance meeting with the softball coaching staff led her to DeSales, why she immediately felt connected to the campus community, and how her experience as a residential student shaped her growth both personally and academically. From her favorite gathering spot at the University Center “DUC” to life in the residence halls, Amy reflects on the relationships that made DeSales feel like home.The conversation explores her path from elementary education to sport management, highlighting the mentorship of faculty who played a key role in her development. Amy also discusses her 12-credit internship at Villanova University, where she gained hands-on experience in facilities and event operations across multiple sports—an opportunity that helped clarify her professional goals.As a student-athlete, Amy speaks about balancing academics and athletics, the importance of time management, and the values instilled through Division III sports. Jim takes a ride across campus with Senior Bobby Dingell—student body president, baseball standout, and one of DeSales’ most involved student leaders. Together, they explore Bobby’s journey from his first visit to campus to his biggest moments of Bulldog pride, the mentors who shaped his leadership, and how faith and servant leadership guide his approach to life. From memories at Weiland Park to insights from the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum and his marketing/data analytics path, Bobby reflects on how DeSales has prepared him to “be who you are and be that well.” A warm, inspiring kickoff to the series.
