Emeritus Professor Ramesh Thakur : The Right to Health Sovereignty
With John Stapleton and Michael Gray GriffithVery few of the hundreds of thousands of Australian protesters who took to the streets during the authoritarian crackdowns of the Covid era realised that there was equally a backlash amongst some of the world’s most formidable intellectuals. In Australia, the most courageous and forthright of those was Emeritus Professor Ramesh Thakur in the Crawford School of Public Policy at The Australian National University. He is widely regarded as one of Australia’s most esteemed academics in the fields of international relations, global governance, nuclear non-proliferation, and security studies. His extensive body of work – including as editor and author of more than 50 books – along with editorial roles, advisory positions with governments and international bodies, and frequent media contributions, all underscore this high standing. He served as Assistant Secretary-General at the United Nations from 1998 to 2007.Professor Thakur began publishing critical pieces on the government’s Covid response, including critiques of policies on masks, vaccines, and lockdowns, very early on.Some of his earliest essays on the subject were published in the policy magazine Pearls and Irritations, and subsequently in Spectator Australia. His articles critiquing official Covid responses were widely published around the world. His work was collected in the historically significant 2023 book Our Enemy The Government: How Covid Enabled the Expansion and Abuse of State Power. An updated Australian edition of the book is in the planning stages. There was simply no way that Australia’s politicians, as they repeated the “safe and effective” mantra ad nauseam and vilified, pepper-sprayed, and jailed Covid dissidents, did not know there was considerable scepticism about their actions from some of the world’s most respected epidemiologists. They were either illiterate, ill-informed or deliberately lying.Thakur was based in Canberra at the time he wrote some of his most penetrating critiques. Any bureaucrat or politician with an inquiring mind could have wandered down to his office at the Australian National University. None of them did.Among the most shocking developments as the pandemic dragged on for more than two years was the degree of coercion and force used by some of the best-known champions of democracy. The boundary between liberal democracy and draconian dictatorship proved to be virus-thin. Tools of repression – like unleashing heavily armed police on peacefully protesting citizens – once the identifying traits of fascists, communists, and tin-pot despots, became uncomfortably familiar on the streets of Western democracies.Interventions rooted in panic, driven by political machinations, and using all the levers of state power to terrify citizens and muzzle critics in the end needlessly killed massive numbers of the most vulnerable, while putting the vast low-risk majority under house arrest. The benefits were questionable, but the harms are increasingly obvious – revalidating Lord Acton’s dictum that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.Praise for Our Enemy The Government: How Covid Enabled the Expansion and Abuse of State Power:“This book is worth the attention of anyone who wants to understand how and why governments and the world’s health bureaucracies ignored the devastating harms and failures of the lockdown-focused policies they implemented during the Covid pandemic.”— Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, Director of the National Institutes of Health in America, former Professor of Medicine at Stanford University, and co-author of the Great Barrington Declaration.“The emergence of Ramesh Thakur as a voice of reason during the last three years is one of the few good things to come out of the pandemic. I find it difficult to disagree with anything he says.”— Lord Toby Young, Founder and Editor-in-Chief, The Daily ScepticCafe Locked Out is entirely listener-supported. The ANZAC's Son. . . Reg's Story.
From the front of the condemned house, you could see the bay where the Anzacs had left to reach the shores of Gallipoli. He was sitting on a camp chair when I entered. The room was lit by the weak afternoon sun and he was full of cancer. He had a great story that he couldn’t see. He was Boxer from Animal Farm.A working-class man who’d been working ever since he was five or six, when his father, a farmer, taught him how to drive the tractor. He left school in Year Eight with two As and a B for everything else. Remarkably, he first got his licence driving a semi. His father drove him to town in theirs and off he went. When his parents sold the farm he became an interstate truck driver and spent his life on the roads. There’s a saying that Australia runs on its trucks.Well, the reason your toilet paper is nearly always on the shelf, or your bowser nearly always has fuel, is because of men like Reginald. Reg.Who now, after all those miles he’s driven, is sitting here talking to me, wondering why he ever bothered. His partner is in a nursing home, placed there by doctors after she struggled with their eviction from the caravan park. They’d bought a small two-bedroom unit there to live out their twilight years — a purchase that had a clause they must have missed in the hefty contract. When the caravan park was sold, the new owners demanded vacant possession. So he and his partner, along with over twenty other permanents, were evicted into a country where they no longer had the money to buy a new house and the rentals are scarce and sky-high.The Australian Dream is dying, like Reg.It has been betrayed by smiling politicians who never answer questions — not even from their mansions — as they allow the corporations to pillage the mine we are becoming poorer upon. The house itself had stickers plastered on many of the walls:“Asbestos containing material. Do not disturb.”This week, Reg will find out if he will be evicted from this house too, for the developers have plans too.If that happens he’ll be looking for more accommodation, but where? And who will offer a rental to a man, with little money, and whose doctors have told him, ‘work on your bucket list and don’t stop taking your pain medication.’But what of those men who years ago, sailed away on the outgoing tide, high on the belief that they were risking their lives to save this worthy nation? This decent land.Well, we built Shrines to them, and once year we congregate around these shrines to celebrate their courage, and remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice . . . For what?So we could, as a nation, ignore their grandsons — men like Reg, who, after working all his life, after paying who knows how much tax, is now sitting here, stranded in Albany now, effectively homeless and suffering from turbo cancer — With nothing else to look forward to, than to wait for his personal and outgoing tide.Michael Gray GriffithAlbany 6/5/26Goodbye Road, the book is not only in the National Archives, as is our website Cafelockedout.com, and so therefore all of our interviews, but your local library has the book in it now, as long as you request it. Interview with a Pharmacist who has never vaccinated anyone
A Pharmacist is, or used to be seen as a pillar of society. Many were allowed to become JPs, simply because they are so trusted. So if that is the case how have we reached here, where in order to share not only what they believe, but what they have learned through observation of us, this Pharmacist feels compelled to go to these lengths to protect himself from persecution, not just from the state, or the regulatory bodies, but from the very regional city they they live in. Australia, how do we get rid of AHPRA? Melinda Richards, Dr Paul Oosterhuis and MGG in the Cafe
Over the last few years I have documented the cases of several doctors and numerous nurses who lost their jobs thanks to AHPRA.AHPRA is not a part of our government, it is a national statutory authority, not a government department, that was established under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (enacted by states/territories) and works in partnership with National Boards. . . But they have become endlessly brutal in their attacks on any health worker who dares defy their edicts. One of the reasons we believe this is happening is that the process is not only the punishment — it is used to control other health workers. But why can’t we have doctors and nurses who question everything?I was always of the belief that the majority of people rely on their doctors to tell them the truth, or at least their honest opinion of the truth. But how can they do that — especially when it comes to vaccines — if they are compelled, under fear of being suspended, to sell a Big Pharma script? If a medication is truly safe and effective, why does it need such draconian protections?Tonight, Melinda Richards, Dr Paul Oosterhuis and I will start a conversation that we hope will foster real discussion and truly challenge AHPRA’s purpose.Cafe Locked Out is entirely listener-supported. Is this thirty old process, a healthier way to Transition
Recently I was told the story of a young transitioner who had taken her life a few years after transition. Her or his death did not make the news, at best they might be populating a statistic, eventually. But Mianna transitioned over thirty years ago and her journey was different.Society then forced anyone who wanted to transition to jump through numerous hoops with one goal, to make sure they, the transitioner, and the surgical team were all convinced that this was the correct course of action.Since then, Mianna has play professional goal and travelled the world. It hasn’t always been easy, but then that’s life.So this is what this discussion is about. Instead of instant affirmation, is it time to offer those with Gender Dysphoria, or those who believe they have it, greater care, since the procedure is profound and almost impossible to return from.Cafe Locked Out is entirely listener-supported. These are your Sovereign Citizens?
Recently I received an email that stated“A pile of Facebook interviews with losers nobody remembers five minutes after they end.”~Paul SingerAnd I was grateful for it, for it made me pause and return to my various hard-drives and revisit some of these interviews. To be honest, the only regret i have is that I don’t have a navigating system so people can search through them. That said, our website, Cafelockedout.com, and the Novel my linked of essays, collated and edited by John Stapleton, are both int he National Archives now, forever. And Goodbye Road is now also available in your library, you just have to request it.Finally i want to tank everyone who has been gracious or brave enough to be interviewed by me.I have done a lot of things in my life, but this is what I, and now we, truly feel blessed to do.Michael Gray Griffith and kelli StevensontranscriptThis is where we are storing the current and older interviews.it just takes a long time to transfer for them across.https://rumble.com/c/TheCLOInterviews This is a public episode. Interview with DR Ted Miller, an Anti Vaxxer Jewish Doctor from Israel
I interviewed Dr Miller in 2023. I was in Tenterfield and he was in Israel. This was before the current war. I found him to be uplifting even though his story was tragic. Following this i did another interview with him and a Dr from New Zealand.Together they had over 100 years medical experience, and huge families, where no one, would listen to their warnings. The lesson here, for me, is that if these two esteemed Doctors could not talk their family out of taking the covid shots, then who could? If you feel like failed, then forgive yourself. The Front Line of Modern Madness: A Specialist Nurse’s 30-Year Stand.
Every choice carries a price. In this powerful continuation of the collaboration between Max Freedom and Michael Gray Griffith, we confront the raw, unfiltered reality of our era in the latest instalment of our series, The Cost of Compliance vs Non-Compliance.In this episode, we sit down with Michael, a specialist psychiatric nurse with over 30 years of experience. Having dedicated his life to caring for those society often discards—from war-shattered veterans to the most severe psychiatric cases—Michael offers a perspective that is both deeply professional and intensely personal. This is the story of a healer who found himself at a crossroads: comply with a system he no longer recognised or walk away from the only career he ever knew.Michael’s journey into medicine was rooted in a childhood spent in the shadow of WWII “shell shock” and veteran asylums, a legacy that shaped his three-decade mission in psychiatry. Throughout his career, he witnessed the transition from purpose-driven recovery models to the “revolving door” of modern medication. During the onset of 2020, Michael occupied a senior leadership role in a major medical facility, but he quickly noticed a stark disconnect between the official narrative and the reality on his wards. His decision to choose non-compliance over the mandates resulted in a devastating personal fallout, including professional misconduct charges, the forfeiture of a lifetime of service benefits, and the heartbreaking estrangement of family and friends who labeled him a “cooker” for his dissent. The cost of this stance has been immense, yet Michael speaks candidly about the even greater cost paid by those who complied, sharing tragic accounts of loved ones lost to recent health trends and the daily battle against a system that silences the injured. For Michael, this is more than a professional dispute; it is a “spiritual war” for the very foundation of our health and values. We continue this series to document the true human cost of these decisions and to stand with those who refuse to be “brushed under the carpet.” We thank you for listening and for honouring Michael’s courage in speaking his truth as we fight to keep independent media alive.💡 Support Independent MediaHelp us keep independent media alive and continue our mission to document these vital stories.Your support makes this work possible.Support our mission at: 👉 ko-fi.com/maxandmichaelA MAX FREEDOM & CAFE LOCKED OUT collaboration production.#TheCostOfComplianceVsNonCompliance #MaxFreedom #MichaelGrayGriffith #IndependentMedia #HumanExperience #MandateImpact #JusticeForTheInjured #Accountability #Nursing #MedicalFreedom #TrueStories #AustraliaUnderPressure This is a public episode. The Other Side, with Damian Coory and John Stapleton and MGG
Damian Coory is a seasoned Australian journalist and communicator with more than 35 years in broadcast media and high-level public relations. A former news presenter and senior reporter for outlets including the ABC, Network Ten, 3AW, 2UE, and 4BC—as well as News Director at Triple M Brisbane in the 1980s and 90s—he later served as Managing Director of Edelman PR for Hong Kong and Taiwan. After two decades consulting on crisis communications across the Asia-Pacific, Coory returned to Australia in 2020 deeply concerned by what he saw as a narrowing of public discourse and a surge in institutional capture by left-wing ideologies. The Other Side, the independent weekly video news show he founded and hosts, offers a refreshingly different take on the week’s biggest stories. Dropping every Friday night at 7pm AEST on YouTube (and also streaming on ADH TV), it delivers sharp, no-nonsense analysis and a curated roundup of the best commentary from Australia and beyond. Viewers tune in for clear-eyed insights that cut through the noise, helping them get smart for the weekend ahead. At its core, the program is proudly centre-right and classical liberal in outlook. It champions values such as liberty, democracy, personal responsibility, common sense, merit, small business, and smaller government—while explicitly challenging what Coory describes as the left-leaning bias that dominates most mainstream Australian media. The show also runs a companion long-form interview series every Tuesday night, diving deeper into the hottest topics of the moment. In the Australian media landscape, The Other Side occupies a vital independent niche. Operating voluntarily and crowdfunded by a loyal base of supporters (with production funded by a passive donor who has no editorial say), it stands apart from both the taxpayer-supported ABC and the major commercial networks. It gives voice to perspectives often sidelined in what Coory calls the “modern wave of woke lynching and hysteria,” particularly on issues like the demonisation of men, radical feminism, and the erosion of traditional principles of justice. With well over half a million views a month on YouTube alone, the show has quietly built a substantial audience seeking balance in an era of polarised debate. Coory’s extensive experience in both newsrooms and boardrooms lends his commentary a rare depth—part journalist, part cultural observer—who is passionate about how media shapes society. For anyone tired of the same scripted narratives and hungry for straight-talking analysis grounded in classical liberal values, The Other Side with Damian Coory is essential viewing. It’s a platform that doesn’t just report the news—it questions the assumptions behind it, providing the other side of the story that mainstream outlets too often overlook. Tune in, subscribe, and discover why thousands of Australians now look forward to Friday nights with Damian.Cafe Locked Out is entirely listener-supported. The Persian Voice
Street Interviews with a Iranians in Perth. Why do they love Trump and the Jews? Why do they want the bombing of their country to continue? Well, let’s ask them.“A comment from on the female Iranian protestors. “Why is it so difficult for the world to understand that many women would rather die with dignity than live in fear of being assaulted by men from their own society? No woman should have to make such a choice. No woman should have to live in fear of harassment or violence simply because of her gender. When an Iranian woman or girl is subjected to harassment or sexual violence, the pain does not end in that moment. It stays with her for a lifetime — a silent suffering that follows her every day. This is something many people outside do not fully see or comprehend. We are tired. Tired of feeling unsafe. Tired of having to hide who we are. Tired of feeling like we must conceal our identity, our femininity, just to protect ourselves. And the question is — should any human being ever have to live like this? Is it even truly possible to live freely while constantly hiding such a fundamental part of who you are?I hope that by sharing these perspectives, people can begin to better understand the reality behind these voices — not as a call for violence, but as a cry for dignity, safety, and the basic right to live freely.Thank you again for helping bring these conversations to light. 🙏🥰”Cafe Locked Out’s work is free to consume but not to produce, so if you could take out a paid subscription that would be wondeful.MGG aand Kelli This is a public episode. Join Jeremy Aitken, who worked in a Covid Vaccination centre
I thought I’d send through a bit of background to give a sense of where I’m coming from at the moment. A lot of what I’ve been working on sits around recovery, place, narrative, and independent publishing, particularly how those shift once you’re outside the metro centres.Living up here in Far North Queensland has been a big part of that. The move north, out of the craziness that is Sydney, and into a quieter, more isolated environment really changed how I approached writing, and what I was able to finish. Moving here has been one of the best decisions I’ve made, the weather’s lifted recently and it’s looking pretty stunning up here. If you even come up, drop in. I’m in a cottage in the rainforest near Kuranda, about 40 minutes outside of Cairns on the range.I originally came up to write Melted, which is more explicitly about recovery and rebuilding, but being here, brought me back to The Bike, which had been sitting unfinished for about twenty years.Btw - I got it back 1 year to the day I left Sydney.Part of that shift came through an accident not long after I arrived. I ended up laid up for weeks in the cottage, recovering in the rainy season on painkillers, with a fan pushing humid air around, and not much else to do but sit still. I started going back through old manuscripts, and I couldn’t start Melted while The Bike was still unfinished. It felt like I’d ignored part of myself and it played on me, until I had to complete before I could move start anything new.The book comes out of lived experience, but what mattered to me in finishing it was how to represent that world from within, rather than stepping outside it twenty years on and sober. The structure, rhythm, and language follow that logic, it unfolds continuously over three days, with no real pause or release, staying close to action and dialogue with very little reflective distance. The aim was to let the form mirror the internal logic of that world, cyclical, procedural, and always moving, so the reader feels the pressure of it, rather than being told about it.I wasn’t interested in explaining that world from the outside or framing it morally. I wanted to build it from within where violence, addiction, and movement aren’t themes, they’re the system itself. A huge part was also about giving voice to lives that are often misrepresented, moralised, or simply ignored in Australian literature, and allowing those experiences to exist with some level of dignity, because those voices matter.I’ve also been thinking more broadly about publishing. I’ve recently set up an independent press, initially around recovery and transformation, but increasingly focused on regional writing up here in FNQ, voices that sit outside the Sydney/Melbourne centres and don’t always find a natural path to publication.I’ve attached a headshot and the book cover for context. Happy to send copies of The Bike through as well, and keen to hear how you’d like to approach promoting it via Banned Books. I’m very happy to sign or inscribe copies if that’s useful.A few pieces are here if helpful:https://www.bluemariposapress.com/storiesHappy to let the conversation go where it goes, but I imagine we might end up somewhere around writing, publishing, regional life, questions of voice, and censorship, particularly how it operates indirectly in what does and doesn’t find a path to publication. If there’s anything you’d like to focus on, or anything else you need, just let me know.Stories by Jeremey Working on the Covid linehttps://asenseofplacemagazine.com/covid-line/Suburban Fight Clubhttps://asenseofplacemagazine.com/suburban-fight-club/A Meaty Talehttps://asenseofplacemagazine.com/scramble-a-meaty-tale/Never Tap Outhttps://asenseofplacemagazine.com/never-tap-out-never-submit-i-am-a-warrior-the-sean-oleary-story/Looking forward to it.Cafe Locked Out is entirely listener-supported. The Cost of Compliance vs Non-Compliance -Karri's Story
The Bassendean InterviewsEvery choice carries a price. In this powerful continuation of the collaboration between Max Freedom and Michael Gray Griffith, we confront the raw, unfiltered cost of the mandate era through Karri’s harrowing journey—a story of a mother who simply wanted to provide for her child and secure the “Australian Dream.”Karri’s story is a devastating account of betrayal by the very systems designed to protect us. After a courageous struggle to bring her “rainbow baby” into the world following five miscarriages and significant birth trauma, she found herself coerced into medical decisions just to keep her career in the mining industry and provide for her family. The price she paid was her health, her vitality, and the heartbreaking loss of her future fertility. From debilitating heart issues and seizures to the mounting financial toll of over $70,000 in medical bills, Karri’s reality is a testament to the lasting impact of the mandates. Though the headlines have moved on, for Karri and many like her, the struggle for accountability, recognition, and justice is a daily battle against a system that continues to gaslight and ignore those it has injured.By sharing Karri’s voice, we hope to document the true human cost of these decisions and stand with those who have been “brushed under the carpet.” Thank you for listening and for honouring Karri’s courage in speaking her truth.💡 Support Independent MediaHelp us keep independent media alive and continue our mission to document these vital stories. The Odyssey of Max . . . The Farmer who refused to comply
What drives a man to leave his family in the midst of a pandemic and cross his suffering country to reach the nation’s capital, hoping to be heard? The trouble was, when he finally headed back, after being ignored, the State was waiting to punish its rebellious son for one crime: defending the freedoms that previous generations of Australian men — the ones whose names are carved on shrines all across this land — had fought and died for, in the belief they were engraving freedom into our culture forever.Shrines that our political class were actively and are still, betraying.Meet Max, the gentle giant who, in our time, and for our freedoms, almost paid a similar price,Recorded in Bindi Bindi, WA. No Jab No Play, is it time to scrap it and more! With Rosemary Marshall and The Hon. John Ruddick MLC
The Hon. John Ruddick MLC is a Libertarian member of the New South Wales Legislative Council, elected in 2023 as the first representative of the Libertarian Party (formerly Liberal Democrats) in NSW Parliament.A former mortgage broker and owner of a property finance business on Sydney’s North Shore, John grew up in Tamworth and attended Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in history) from the University of Sydney. An avid reader, student of history, and regular commentator on platforms like Sky News and The Spectator Australia, John is known for his outspoken defence of individual liberty, free speech, and limited government. He authored the 2018 book Make the Liberal Party Great Again but left the Liberals to join the Libertarians in 2021, citing their handling of COVID-19 policies and internal party issues. His 2023 maiden speech to Parliament—critiquing Australia’s COVID response—made international headlines when it was banned from YouTube, an unprecedented move in Australian political history. In Parliament, John serves on several committees, including as Deputy Chair of Portfolio Committee No. 7 (Planning and Environment), and has introduced bills on issues ranging from free speech protections and opposing multiculturalism policies to banning sex-selective abortions. He is also now trying to table a bill to end No Jab No Play.Joining us too will be Rosemary Marshall — the outspoken Sydney grandmother and Forest of the Fallen organiser who’s become a familiar face in Australia’s freedom movement. From documenting vaccine injury memorials to calling out hate speech inconsistencies, Rosemary brings a no-holds-barred perspective from the front lines.”Would you like a slightly longer version, a version tailored to pair with Senator John Ruddick’s episode, or any specific focus (e.g., Forest of the Fallen, free speech, or her recent viral moment)?Cafe Locked Out is entirely listener-supported. To be or not to be, Reiley and his Vaccine Injury
Reiley’s Story - The Cost of Compliance vs Non-ComplianceEvery choice carries a price. In this profound collaboration between Max Freedom and Michael Gray Griffith, we examine the heavy toll of the mandate era through the personal lens of Reiley’s journey.Reiley’s story is one of compliance—a choice made under the weight of a mandate that changed everything. While some paid with their careers by refusing, others, like Reiley, paid a different price with their health and convictions. Though the mandates have officially ended, the social, financial, and personal costs continue to be felt every single day.Justice is the constant struggle to right the wrongs of the past and ensure they are never repeated. By sharing this particular story of the human experience, we hope to shed light on the lasting impact of these decisions and the ongoing fight for accountability.Thank you for listening and for honouring Reiley’s story.💡 Support Independent MediaHelp us keep independent media alive and continue our mission to document these vital stories. The Future is here: Join Dr Bruce Paix, John Later, Dr Paul Oosterhuis
Hey everyone, if you’re after a no-holds-barred chat about what’s really going on in our increasingly crazy world, this one’s for you.Tonight Michael sits down with two seasoned Australian anaesthetists who’ve seen it all — from the operating theatre to standing up for what they believe in, even when it cost them dearly.First up is Dr Bruce Paix. He’s the Dr who served our country overseas as an anaesthetist, then found himself arrested during a peaceful protest in Canberra. He ended up spending six days in solitary confinement. Not exactly the thanks you’d expect for someone who’s spent his career keeping patients safe under pressure.Joining him is Dr Paul Oosterhuis .Paul was the first Australian doctor to be deregistered by AHPRA simply for raising concerns about the mRNA COVID injections and pushing for proper informed consent and early treatment. He fought back, took it all the way to the Supreme Court, and became the first doctor in the country to successfully win his registration back. Absolute legend for sticking to evidence-based medicine when it wasn’t popular. In this relaxed but hard-hitting conversation, the three of them dive into the big shifts happening in our society — the kind of changes to daily life, freedoms, and the way things are run that you won’t hear much about in the mainstream. They talk about maintaining free will and personal sovereignty when the system seems to be pushing in the opposite direction. They also touch on how money creation and financial systems play into all of this, the ongoing questions around synthetic gene technology and those mRNA jabs, and what it really means to uphold the Hippocratic Oath when times get tough — not just when it’s easy. It’s the classic Cafe Locked Out vibe: honest, evidence-focused, and straight from doctors who’ve been in the trenches. You’ll hear personal stories mixed with broader reflections on why trust in institutions has taken such a hit, the censorship and regulatory battles they’ve faced, and why it’s more important than ever to question official narratives and protect individual autonomy. The tone is straightforward, sometimes blunt, but always grounded in real clinical experience and a genuine concern for what’s happening to our way of life.If you’ve been following the Cafe Locked Out series, this fits right in with their other chats featuring suspended or outspoken doctors who refuse to stay silent. It’s the kind of discussion that leaves you thinking long after it finishes.Highly recommended if you’re interested in medical ethics, personal freedom, and making sense of the wild ride the world’s been on lately. The Art of Radical Curiosity
Russell Storey is an Australian author, international breathwork trainer and facilitator, astrologer, and former corporate professional based in Perth (Sorrento), Western Australia. https://radicalcuriosity.com.au/He has a background in organizational change management, strategy, and leadership development, including 17 years living and working in the UK inside large institutions. He encountered breathwork around 2010, trained with the Transformational Breath Foundation in Edinburgh, and has since taught it worldwide, emphasizing its ability to help people "feel better fast, without the need to talk" through conscious breathing that oxygenates the body, supports energy and consciousness, and aids emotional regulation. He returned to Australia around 2019 to be closer to family and founded Connected Breath (offering sessions and training in Perth and beyond). He also created AstroBreath, a system blending breathwork with astrological archetypes for stress regulation, body reconnection, and clarity in uncertain times. His interest in how culture shapes thinking, beliefs, and unquestioned ideas grew from his corporate experience and intensified during the COVID period, as he observed social consensus formation, uncertainty management, and the risks of questioning dominant narratives. The book Radical Curiosity emerged from this personal and intellectual inquiry. An Instagram post references it arising "through grief, research, and independent thinking," pointing to a deeply personal awakening alongside broader cultural analysis.Signed copies of his book are available here Cafe Locked Out is entirely listener-supported. #3 Survivors and those who have been touched by suicide
WARNING this interview will be mentioning suicide and bad mental health.wait Today I am talking with Lenny who is cycling for suicide. He has lost his best friend, an uncle and possibly man more. He runs a page called Doin it for Dippa. He is currently stuck in WA waiting out a cyclone and waiting for a new driver. He has been on the road for a year which .I would imagine is hugely draining on its own. If you would like to donate to my cultural fund to help me achieve something incredibly needed. Here is the link to help. The Journey to the FilmWhere is Rohana at?I’ve spent the last couple of months finding a location ( I have found this space which just happened to already have two rows of bench seats sitting there for us)And creating a Sponsorship Package in the hope of getting businesses on board.I am currently collecting the rest of the Team, I have an excellent DOP who sees my vision and so I am drawing that into a storyboard over the next few days to show him. With Funding.I have raised over $12,000 but have a way to go to get the shooting budget which is what I am trying to achieve. You can give as little or as much towards this project as you like. However if you choose to be a Sponsor your business will align with a meaningful project that has already recieved praise from critics, mental health professionals, and audiences—including the Australian Army’s head psychiatrist calling it “a revolution in suicide prevention.” You will be a part of this revolutionary film. All donations are tax-deductible MORE INFO HEREIf you would like to know more about becoming a SponsorI’ve structured sponsorship levels to offer flexible options, with increasing visibility and engagement opportunities. All sponsors receive recognition in the film’s credits and on promotional materials. Please email me at [email protected] have had a few offers of help for free which has been amazing. A Gaffer in Sydney who said “ I will come down and help you in whatever way you need” And a lovely Man Pete who I interviewed last Sunday is helping promote me up in Qld.I am determined, and focused and will even hit the media with what I am doing. We need to make radical changes here in Australia...quite simply it needs to be talked about, we need to know beforehand and not after when someone is struggling., in any way! A Conversation with a Water Media Reader
Comments from Socials Mary KyrillidisIt was different way back then.a man could work and pay off a house and provide for his wife and children.I’m sure this man wants to give his family security. He wants the house and the family. His wife needs to work as well to help him even if it’s part-time.My sister always went back to work, full-time, six months after the baby was born, with both kids.Today especially , You sometimes have to move where it’s affordable.I’m in a regional area and I’m seeing many moving further out , here where houses are under $200,000.With rentals, it’s money down the drain, and you end up having to move all the time. Kids change schools etc.The home, the house is important, as you want to settle down in one spot.Dee Newberybeautifully , with heart and sensibility you spoke sir .More than money , in times of pressure , you and your warmth shared with another man , time , understanding , kindness and hopefully that eased his anxietyTracey MitchellAnd soon he’ll be out oSheree ShereeSo what is the solution, that’s what needs to be talked aboutOne thing I notice is that the people don’t like what is happening but won’t unite for changeWhen we do nothing for change (uniting of the people) we are part of the problem of a job, because everyone is bending over and accepting smart metersKim MacOur natural resources have been sold out to foreign interests. -They pay almost no taxes-Make goods using our raw materials and sell it back to us for big profit. Furthermore our government taxes is on the same products. So we are shafted by China ,India and the rest as well as our own government.Personal signed copy of Michael’s Novel Goodbye Road, published by A Sense of Place Publishing; Singed Books Available hereDave WesleyWell said mate. I just love your posts. I’m in tears thinking about what you’re saying.Michael DurkWe don’t have to turn back the clock, just compare ourselves with Norway. A resource rich country that made a decision 20 or so years ago that the wealth of the country was for the people of the country. Norway now owns about 3 to 4% of all the shares in the whole world, all paying dividends to the Norwegian government and this wealth poor is used for the good of the Norwegian people. We have been fooled, hoodwinked, robbed. Our water meter friend could maybe look at fifo but our children and grandchildren are screwed. Pamela TuckerOne of the saddest talks Michael .Please get your family to move to the country .Maybe she would learn to love itPetra KlotzDare i say it?!! Big pharma run this country and sooo many others! they want us sick!! The politicians are run by them! they get a cut of their earnings! it’s them and all the billionaires that are a part of it! well f**k them! I feel for this man! It’s been this way for far too long now! I was homeless for 2 months..and sadly this is a common occurrence now! Hard working beautiful souls can’t even get a house to live in! it’s a disgrace that we’re here! Time for a revolution!!Barry LaneIts the sad reality we find ourselves in. We are vulnerable. We speak of mass non compliance to digital ID and digital money. But look how quickly than can f**k all our lives just with a fuel crisis (real or not).If this fuel issue becomes a prolonged process, the inflation will hit every single aspect of our lives. Its infuriating because we know its all intentional. But I have no idea how we resolve it through this corrupted political systemMakedonka BrckovaEverything what is happening in Australia it’s because we the people are allowing it, there nothing to talk about it anymore. For the last 5-6 years we talk the same, the complaints are the same, the comments are the same.We need to change something, wake up from the hypnosis , they are keeping us busy with all this news they throw at us, while government is throwing agendas at us without the people noticing it Debra BonniciMy father was a rigger bought up six children housed clothed and fed plus owned his car sometimes two. When Mum was with us before they divorced she was a house wife. we all had a great life. the seventies to early nineties was family oriantated and neighborhoods were great communities.
