It's Breeders' Cup week! So we thought it was appropriate to share this story of a big score that was and (involving the same horse) a big score that wasn't.

As everyone looks ahead to this weekend's Breeders' Cup, we look back at one of the most notorious scandals in sports history. 

This week, Bill is joined by noted author, writer, and podcast host Peter Thomas Fornatale for his Big Score story from Del Mar, circa 2004.

For this week's Big Score, Bill is joined by Steve Simonovich.  Steve was kind enough to share stories not only about Big Scores, but bad beats as well.  Steve also shared some techniques he uses to find those well-hidden big priced winners.

Brian Leckie shares his story of how he handicapped the 2014 Kentucky Derby and bet Commanding Curve (37-1) and Danza (8-1) to run in the money under his key horse, California Chrome.   The exotics did not disappoint.  

Last season we took a look back at one of the premiere thoroughbred tracks of the Northwest in a 2 part special we called Memories of Longacres.  Although lost, this track is surely not forgotten.  When we ran the special, we gained an even greater sense of what Longacres meant to racing fans.  After an outpouring of comments and messages, we decided to do one final installment of The Memories of Longacres.Bill was joined by Dave Sangara, Kany Levine, and Ron Blake who all shared their fond memories.  Join us on facebook for photos and additional content.

This week we're honored to have Robert "Rip" Simonick share not one, but two Big Scores with Bill.  Rip is a living sports legend by anyone's standards.  As a member of the NHL Hall of Fame, Buffalo Sabres Hall of Fame, and Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame, we can safely declare that he's the only guest we've had who's been inducted to three different HOF's.Rip's knowledge of sports does not end with hockey, which why he joins us today.
