Episode 1 - Introduction to the Podcast
Welcome to Casual Cyber Chats, the podcast where cybersecurity meets everyday life. If you're curious about the name, I’ll explain—it took me some time to find the right balance. There are already plenty of podcasts doing deep dives into cybersecurity, and I didn’t want to just add another one to the mix. At the same time, I wanted to avoid the total unstructured chaos of a full variety show. So, while cybersecurity is at the heart of what we’ll talk about here, this podcast will also explore other aspects of life, like hobbies and personal interests. We’ll break down the latest hacks and cybersecurity headlines into plain language you can apply to your everyday life. I won’t dive too deep into the technical weeds, but I will make sure you walk away with useful tips. Whether it's phishing, scams, cyberbullying, or stalking, we’ll cover practical strategies to stay safe. But it won’t all be cyber. I’ll sprinkle in topics like pickleball, trading cards, books, coffee, cats, and even stoicism—because, let’s face it, there's more to life than just tech! So whether you're here to learn how to defend yourself against cyber threats or just to hear about my daily life here in South Florida, I’m excited to have you on board. This is a public episode.
