Paul as well points out to the corinthians that speaking in tongues isn't good for bringing in new believers as they will think you're crazy so they need to be wise in these regards.

Substitutes // 2 Kings 1:1-8
In this study, Josh goes into 2 Kings 1:1-8 where we see Ahazaih the next king after Ahab gets injured and send his men to go ask Baal-Zeebub the god of Ekron whether he'll recover or not. Elijah is then informed by God to go and tell them that Ahazaih will not leave his bead and surely die. Josh goes into how we aren't to substitute the lord with anything and speaks about things like mediums and the dangers of such acts. So I ask you what are you going to discern your future?

When God's Patience Runs Out // 1 Kings 21:17-19
In this study, Josh continues in 1 Kings 21:17-19 where we see that God won't tolerate king Ahab's sinful acts and send Elijah to seek him out and deliver a message to Ahab saying that God is going to destroy his family meaning all his children will die and his wife. Ahab after hearing this from Elijah humbled himself before God and the Lord gave him grace saying that it won't happen during his lifetime. Josh point's out that we must not mistake God's patience for acceptance and tells us that we need to humble ourselves to the Lord .

In this study, Josh continues 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 where we now see Pauls response to the previous chapter where he says he'll show the corinthians a more excellent way than just desiring the best gifts. Paul tells them that the most important thing is love and without it the gifts and all we do is nothing. Josh goes to break down what love is and explains multiple points of it as well challenges us to replace our names with love and see where we can grow.

Through this section we can see how we are like Elijah and relate to him because just like him we can fail after a victory and be discouraged so much so that we push away the Lord. My question to you is when you fall into these moments of depression and discouragement do you close yourself off or seek God and His love?

In this study, Josh continues in 1 Kings 18:41-46 where we look at Elijah praying and trusting in the Lord for rain to now fall down after 3 and a half years of no rain. We can see through Elijah five P's that are great to follow with prayer the place, the posture, the persistence, the promises, and the power of prayer. In this study, Josh continues in 1 Kings 18:20-40 where we see Elijah go against the prophets of Baal in a god battle for who really follows the truth. Josh points out that Elijah wasn't there to just beat the other prophets showing that Jehovah is the real God but to win over the hearts of all who were watching as he even ask them how long they will falter between two opinions. So I ask you are you fully committing yourself to The Lord or are you sitting on the fence thinking you can serve both God and the world.

In this study, Josh continues in 1 Kings 18:1-19 where we see God now calling Elijah to go and confront King Ahab and around this time we are also introduced to Obadiah a man of God who was in charge of Ahab's house. We see through Obadiah and Elijah that what God's will for people are different we aren't all meant to be the same. Josh points out the difference's between Elijah and Obadiah but focuses on that they were both used uniquely by God to fulfill His purpose.

In this study, Josh continues in 1 Kings 17:17-24 where the widows son has died and Elijah goes onto put his confidence and faith in the Lord to bring the child back to life. After the child came back to life the widow then knew that Elijah was a man of God and that his words were truth. So I ask are you giving people the evidence that God is real and living through your life?

Elijah’s Faith Refined // 1 Kings 17:8-16
In this study, Josh continues in 1 Kings 17:8-16 where God tells Elijah to go to Zarephath which is where the Lord would refine Elijah even more as Elijah had just been alone focusing on his private life with God. Elijah is then told that a poor widow will take care of him and we see the faith of this widow as Elijah tells her to make him bread although she doesn't have enough oil and flower but God provides and they eat for many days. So I ask you how is your faith being refined and are you submitting to the Lord?
