Transplant Advocate Association

Step Above Stigma

Step Above Stigma is an AMS Club striving to increase mental health care accessibility and end the stigma. The club empowers youth and young adults to critically question social norms and step above the stigmas that prevent them from having good mental health. QMed Fights Cancer
Coming up on this special Club Takeover of our airwaves, we welcome senior leadership exec Jaryd Te from QMED to talk about their 4th annual Queen’s Med Fights Cancer Charity Hockey Game, an event organized by medical students at Queen’s University supporting brain cancer research in partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society. This fundraiser began in 2023, when a student in Queen’s Med, Geordie Maguire, was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Cancer Kids First (CKF) is the world’s largest youth-led pediatric cancer nonprofit. Kingston Basketeers

Since 2019, this volunteer-run group has invited community members to assemble and donate baskets filled with new household and personal care items for women leaving emergency shelters.
