Established in 1956, the Chaozhou Folk Music Troupe has primarily dedicated itself to the vital tasks of excavating, preserving, and performing Chaozhou music. It has made significant contributions to the inheritance and development of this musical tradition. Over the years, the Troupe has systematically organized and accumulated a repertoire of musical scores, created a body of new works, and actively cultivated numerous talented performers of Chaozhou music.Since its founding, the Troupe has toured extensively, performing in numerous countries and regions including the United States, France, Singapore, Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), Beijing, and Shanghai, participating in cultural exchange events. It has been frequently invited to showcase Chaozhou music at national and international intangible cultural heritage exhibitions and promotional activities. In 2023, the Troupe successfully held a dedicated Chaozhou Music Concert at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijin
