Hello Hello Hello! This Part 2 of my punk rock preview of Euro 2024, the football tournament which will take place this summer in Germany. The idea is simple: 24 European nations are taking part in the tournament and I am playing a song by a punk band from each country participating in this sporting event. I have been doing these episodes for over 10 years and I try to avoid repeating the same bands from the same country. I also prefer playing songs sung in their home language. Hopefully all the bands sing nice things. Hello Hello Hello! First block of new punk rock music from England features Cock Sparrer, Frank Turner, The Chisel, and Snuff. Then I played bands from Italy (Talco, Menagramo) and Greece (Koza Mostra, Locomondo) in celebration of Conference League final which took place this week. And third block featured great local bands such as Sightlines, Needles//Pins, Apollo Ghosts, and Woolworm.

Hello Hello Hello! In the first block I decided to play some of my favourite punk songs from Italy and Germany. The day before the episode aired the whole world was glue to their TVs for the Europa League Final between Atalanta Bergamo (Italy) and Bayer Leverkusen (Germany), so I felt like it was a good enough reason to play 5MDR and Derozer (from Italy) & ZSK and Die Toten Hosen (from Germany) And then I previewed the EP release show for Uptights which is happening this Saturday at Green Auto. And the local block this weak features Version 2 of The Crops. They announced the line up changes and the new band members Dave from ATD and Morgan from Blacked Out. So it made sense to play these 3 bands.

Hello Hello Hello! This episode includes new tracks by Decent Criminal (playing in Vancouver on Sept 14, 2023), Teenage Halloween, The Penske File (playing in Vancouver on Oct 14, 2023) and Guilhem. In the second block I did something different, I've played re-recorded hits by some of the classic punk bands. Idea started when I saw that Less Than Jake re-recorded their SuperHIT "All My Best Friends Are Metalheads". I started looking for other re-recorded versions and played songs by MxPx, Streetlight Manifesto, The Queers and The Offspring. I like re-recorded version better, but you can disagree with me and start an internet fight in comments. And then I previewed the album release show for Warm with Danes and Anodyne. Thanks to legendary chris-a-riffic for helping me out with pronunciation. The release show is on August 11th at Red Gate, presented by Early Onset Records.

I am bias because I truly love this band, but if you like them but haven't checked out their new record "The Cup of Pestilence" I highly recommend. So obviously I played a track off that album, I picked song called The Wreckage, as well as new tracks by The Raging Nathans, The Brokedowns, Tightwire and Brutal Youth.
