Season 3 is here! The boys are back with some exciting new episodes. It's Christmas and Rory's beside himself with excitement over the imminent arrival of the "Jolly fat one" (Not Bob but Santa) , while Bob is in full humbug mode hiding in Africa. Enjoy this festive natter led hugely off track by Rory's rantings about Norwegian Christmas traditions. This pudding of an episode is dusted off with a coating of first meetings, and a mountain rescue as heroic as it is stupid. In the words of Rory doppelganger Tom Hanks, "All aboard"

Code 21 Season 2 Episode 11 And nothing like the truth

No one mentioned there’d be a part three... But as the saying goes: Put a rogue in the spotlight, and he’ll play the part of an honest man. In this train wreck finale to a twisted tale. Rory is still fuming, so in a well-intentioned but ultimately futile attempt to cheer him up, Rob sends an email recounting his own so-called heroic efforts of stumbling around inside a derailed train, frantically trying to save anyone he could find.  Predictably, this backfires spectacularly, plunging Rory even deeper into trouble with the higher-ups. Cornered and facing impossible odds in a web of treacherous power plays, Rory faces a crucial choice: play the game just one more time , or tell the truth...

  10. 19

Code 21 Season 2 Episode 10 The whole truth

Welcome to part two of our thrilling conspiracy series! Rory, ever the master of subtlety, goes on an unhinged tirade to anyone within earshot. He rants about being promoted, demoted, convicted, evicted, and eventually banished to purgatory, left to contemplate his life, failing career, and, worst of all, his new daily routine—driving 80 miles, day and night, in Bob’s dad’s old Citroën Xantia. In a cover-up scandal reminiscent of Trump and Stormy Daniels, Rory becomes notorious throughout the force as "the phone guy," proving British Telecom’s old mascot Buzby's famous catchphrase, "It's good to talk," very, very wrong. But all is not lost. Rory unexpectedly finds love in a strange place, while Bob, well, Bob finds more ice cream.

  11. 18

Code 21 Season 2 Episode 9 The Truth

The next two episodes see the boys take a deep breath and retell a truly staggering story, rivaling any recent Netflix true crime shocker. If true, it raises profound and difficult questions about Police Scotland, the Scottish judicial system, and how they treat those sworn to protect life and uphold the law. But don’t worry, it’s just another “ truth “according to Bob Moon and Rory MacRae and no one believes them anyway. Part one of "The Truth" introduces the tragic tale of four men drowning in one of Scotland's largest and most forbidding lochs. The aftermath forces Rory to confront astonishing police incompetence, cost cutting  and corruption as he fights desperately to save his job, reputation, and sanity.

Season 2 Episode 8 Pride before a fall (and remembering what the episode was supposed to be about)

This latest episode of "Code 21" comes from Bob's house, in the spectacular shadow of Edinburgh Castle. Here, in Bobs kitchen we find Rory hiding out from the authorities after taking matters into his own hands when he observed a suspicious man lurking around his daughter’s schoolyard. Originally, the plan was to delve into the background of Rory’s unexpected departure from Police Scotland. However, with Rory still in vigilante mode, the discussion takes an unexpected turn as he recounts a recent visit to the Scottish Police College, unaware that it is June and therefore Pride Awareness Month. Rory’s confusion inevitably prompts the boys to reflect on their own understandings of pride and how it was rigorously instilled in police officers during the 1990s.

  13. 16

Code 21 Podcast Season 2 Episode 7 Hoovering up the Lasagne

Finding it hard to get into those awkward corners with your hoover? Rory gives helpful tips whilst the boys bemoan how things used to be, how they are and how they should be. 14. 15

Code 21 Season 2 Episode 6 -Out of the frying pan and into the furnace

In this gripping first installment of a two-part episode, Rory and Bob confront the intense challenges of responding to a domestic disturbance call.  Few scenarios in policing are as fraught with potential danger as domestic incidents. Unraveling the truth behind these allegations proves to be anything but simple. To highlight this complexity, the boys examine a captivating case involving the tragic shooting of a serving  police officer amidst allegations of burglary, arson and domestic abuse. Amidst the tension, Rory shares his definition of a "Rocket" while Bob recounts the harrowing escape of a detainee with antlers.

An earnest and poignant exploration of a horrific fictional murder unfolds as Rory and Bob delve into the intricate dynamics of police officers grappling with personal regret and the stress of handling harrowing incidents. Bob unveils why Rory shamefully remained in hiding throughout November, leaving listeners without episodes. Rory, without any training, believes he can self-diagnose their emotional and psychological well-being. Eventually, amidst their trademark ramblings, the duo delivers a helpful guide on avoiding arrest when confronted by law enforcement. Caution: This episode includes distressing depictions of ice cream crime scenes, 32 tons of dead fish, and the consumption of hallucinogenic fungi.

  18. 11

    Code 21 Season 2 Episode 2 Bangsticks

Bob and Rory take a serious turn today, discussing the intriguing aspects of guns. Amidst attending shootings and a very peculiar game of “Supermarket Sweep,” the duo recounts experiences of being tasered, sprayed with CS incapacitant, and facing threats with knives. While the public may adore the Hollywood image, the reality for a cop pulling the trigger is markedly different.

  19. 10

    Code 21 Season2 Episode 1 Halloween special

On Halloween night, bodies go bump in the night ,eerie sounds echo through the darkness. What’s more chilling than a morgue? Perhaps Rory’s dread of clowns or Bob’s fear of towering shelves. Tune in for yet another round of 90s policing tales, this time under the spell of the witching hour.

It is a fine line and one that requires professionalism , training and extreme skill so who better to give as a first hand insight from behind the wheel ,than Bob in his speeding Mercedes Benz And Rory in his somewhat slower but more practical Land Rover In the words of our former divisional commander- 'It's the truth according to Rory MacRae and Robert Moon and no fucker is going to believe you anyway" Code 21 is a work of fiction - any similarity to events or people, living or dead is purely co-incidental.

Code 21 Episode 1 Introducing Robert and Rory

Code 21  Meet PC Robert Moon and PC Rory MacRae . Two ex-Scottish police officers with many fictional tales to tell based on their combined 40 years police experience.  Ride along with Rory and Bob in the nineties and noughties for a painfully blunt, shockingly macabre but above all eye wateringly funny uniformed patrol of the beautiful Scottish Highlands . One from the luxurious heated seat of police BMW and the other from the gritty front line of a remote single manned village police office. Hot Fuzz crashes head on into Trainspotting as our boys in blue drag us into the heart of every drama, conflict ,car crash , mountain rescue , death ,outrage and laugh as the they struggle so hard but achieve so little ,up holding laws they seem to have largely made up in a rapidly changing policing world. All the while  battling a level of police beauracarcy , incompetence and corruption which will leave you questioning everything Netflix ever taught you about real policing.  In the words of their former divisional commander  ‘It’s the truth according to Rory MacRae and Bob Moone and no one’s going to fucking believe you anyway’  Be warned these fictional tales are of their time and are presented to give the listener a concept of rural policing at the turn of the century ,as such they rely heavily on the dark humour adopted by so many officers as a coping mechanism to the horror and trauma that came with the ‘job’ Any resemblance to real locations, events or any  persons living or dead is co-incidental . If you or a loved one are suffering from depression or mental health problems please contact a doctor or support services. Do not listen if you are easily offended!
