    Deron Feldhaus is a 1987 graduate of Mason County High School. He is fifth on the Royals' all-time scoring list with 1,937 career points. He was an "Unforgettable" at the University of Kentucky where he scored 1,232 career points. Feldhaus is a member of the UK Hall of Fame.

    Jay Gast is a 1981 graduate of St. Patrick High School. He is second on the Saints' all-time scoring list with 2,239 career points. He scored 1,328 points at the University of Toledo. Gast had a distinguished career with the Toledo Police Department before joining the Lucas County Prosecutor's Office as a Criminal Investigator. He is an assistant basketball coach at Anthony Wayne High School in Whitehouse, Ohio.

    Cere Myrick is a 1978 graduate of Maysville High School. He was a four-year starter on the basketball team and is fourth on the Bulldogs' all-time scoring list with 1,776 career points. He helped lead Maysville to the 1978 state tournament. After playing at Austin Peay State University and Georgetown College, Myrick joined the U.S. Air Force.

    Lee Kendall, a former multi-sport athlete at Harrison County and a former boys' varsity basketball coach at Pendleton County and Harrison County, began his teaching and coaching careers at Mason County. He shares stories of his playing and coaching days and his connections to Maysville.

    Ernie Siders is a U.S. Air Force veteran who celebrated his 95th birthday on November 24. He hosts a big band and swing music show on WOBO radio. Siders restores furniture and collects classic cars, record albums, radios and other memorabilia. He shares some terrific stories.

He shares stories about growing up in the 1950s, recounts a long career with Parker Tobacco Company and discusses his time as a basketball official followed by a 10-year stint as the head coach the St. Patrick Lady Saints and later serving an assistant coach for the Mason County Lady Royals.

    Ronnie French, a graduate of Augusta High School, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was wounded in Vietnam in 1967. He received a Purple Heart. French was elected to the Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame for his work with veterans.

    Episode 49 Carl Bouldin

    Carl Bouldin, a native of Germantown, played baseball and basketball at the University of Cincinnati. He was co-captain of the Bearcats' first national champion basketball team in 1961, and is a member of the UC Hall of Fame. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Royals, but chose baseball over basketball and pitched for the Washington Senators.

    Ray Snedegar is a native of Grange City, a 1958 graduate of Mayslick High School and an Air Force veteran. He survived the crash of the first flight of "Operation Babylift" in South Vietnam on April 4, 1975.

    Charles "Chuck" Hall is a 1960 graduate of Maysville High School. He was an All-State basketball player and is 20th on the Bulldogs' all-time scoring list with 1,062 career points. Hall is a veteran who retired from Goodyear. He is a resident of Topeka, Kansas.

    Tim Farmer is the host of the the KET TV show "Tim Farmer's Country Kitchen" and is the former host of  "Kentucky Afield." He grew up in Mason County. This interview was recorded in 2013 and originally aired on my "SportsTalk" show on WFTM radio.

    Lyda Lewis is a 1966 graduate of Maysville High School and a 1970 graduate of Morehead State University. In 1973, Lewis became the first African American to be named Miss Kentucky. A former special education teacher, actress, model and race horse breeder, Lewis is a now a dealer of antique jewelry.

    Earnie Robbins, Retired Major General, U.S. Air Force, is a 1964 graduate of Maysville High School and a 1969 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. Robbins received a Master's degree in engineering from Arizona State University in 1973. He shares stories about growing up in Maysville, his time at UK, his 34 years of service in the U.S. Air Force and his work with the Parsons Corporation.

    Ron Moore is a 1971 graduate of Maysville High School. After playing football at MHS and Kentucky State University, he had a long career as a teacher and coach. He later served as a basketball official for the Kentucky High School Athletic Association. Moore also served on the Kentucky African American Heritage Commission.

    Dr. Randy Runyon is a 1964 graduate of Maysville High School. He earned a Ph.D.  in French at John Hopkins University. Runyon is a retired professor of French and the author of seventeen books.

    Jim Joe Stahl is a 1969 graduate of St. Patrick High School. He is 16th on the Saints' all-time scoring list with 1,221 career points. Stahl was the head coach at Glen Este High School in Clermont County, Ohio from 1989-1995. He was inducted into the Glen Este High School Hall of Fame in 2023. Stahl is an assistant coach at West Clermont High School.

    Episode 40 Kenny Ross

    Kenny Ross is a 1972 graduate of Mason County High School. He played basketball at Mason County and Spartanburg Methodist College. Ross scored 846 career points at Mason County and averaged 11.1 points and 11 rebounds a game his senior season. He was named All-State Honorable Mention by The Courier-Journal in 1972.

    Maysville native Wayne Box Miller is the host of the pregame, halftime and postgame shows on the Cincinnati Bengals Radio Network. He is a member of the Morehead State University Alumni Hall of Fame. Miller be inducted into the Greater Cincinnati Society of Professional Journalists Hall of Fame on September 16.

    Episode 37 Lex Turner

    Lex Turner was the boys' basketball coach at St. Patrick High School for 28 seasons. He is the Saints' winningest coach with 365 victories. He guided St. Patrick to two district championships and three 10th Region All "A" Classic championships. Turner coached both the girls' and boys' basketball teams in the 1987-88 season. He was also the athletic director for many years. Turner is a member of the 10th Region Hall of Fame. This interview was recorded in 2012.

    Sandy Byron is a former St. Patrick High School golfer who won the 1986 State Amateur tournament. She is a two-time champion of the Women's City golf tournament in Lexington.

    Episode 35 Tom Creamer

    Tom Creamer had a 151-56 record in six seasons as the head coach of the Maysville Bulldogs basketball team. He guided the Bulldogs to back-to-back 10th Region titles in 1972 and 1973. Maysville upset top-ranked Louisville Central in the quarterfinals of the 1972 state tournament. This interview was recorded in 2012.

    Mike Corde is a 1972 graduate of Mason County High School where he played basketball and baseball. He is 13th on the Royals' all-time scoring list. He played collegiately at Ohio University. He is a Navy veteran.

    Wayne Burns is a 1970 graduate of Mason County High School where he played basketball and baseball and ran track. Burns was the Royals' second-leading scorer his junior season. He scored 782 career points.

    George Davis is a 1963 graduate of Maysville High School. He led Maysville to the 1963 state tournament and is 9th on the Bulldogs' all-time scoring list. Davis is a Vietnam War veteran who now resides in Columbia, Missouri.

    Kirby Wright played and coached baseball and basketball at Tollesboro High School. He was the principal at Orangeburg Elementary School, Straub Elementary School and Mason County High School. He was the first executive director of Buffalo Trace CASA.

    Tom Duncan played sports at Oneida High School in Tennessee. He is a veteran. He helped revive the football program at Maysville High School in the 1960s and helped start football at Mason County High School in the 1970s. Duncan served as a volunteer assistant football coach at Mason County for several seasons. This interview was recorded in 2012.

    Episode 29 Fred Hester

    Fred Hester is a 1967 graduate of Mason County High School. He began his coaching career at Ripley. After coaching the Blue Jays, Hester was an assistant coach at Mason County before being promoted to head coach in 1991. In five seasons, Hester guided the Royals to three straight 10th Region titles and compiled a record of 127-32 (77.9%). He also served as golf coach and athletic director. This interview was recorded in 2016.

    Kirby Bennett is a 1975 graduate of Maysville High School. He played football, basketball and baseball at MHS and football at Western Kentucky University. He shares stories about playing at the high school and collegiate levels, coaching, mission work and more.

    Gordy Jones is a 1970 graduate of Maysville High School. He played baseball and football for the Bulldogs. He still plays softball. He is a pastor, author and college instructor.

    Glenn Bishop is a 1968 graduate of Maysville High School. He was the catcher on the Clover Leaf Class "A" team that won the National Knothole Invitational Tournament in 1966 and the star running back on Maysville's 1967 football team.

    Episode 24 Tom Becherer

    After playing football at the University of Kentucky, Tom Becherer was the head coach when Maysville High School revived its football program in 1967. Becherer was the Bulldogs' head coach from 1967 through 1971. He guided the Shelby County Rockets to a state championship in 1987 and was the defensive coordinator for Collins High School's 2013 state championship team. This episode is a portion of an interview that was recorded in 2013.

    Bill Forman was a standout basketball player at St. Patrick High School in the 1950s. He led the team in scoring his freshman, junior and senior seasons and is 29th on the Saints' all-time scoring list with 996 career points. After graduating from college, Forman was the head coach at St. Patrick for seven seasons. This interview was recorded in 2012.

    Darrell Hill is a 1961 graduate of Maysville High School. He is a member of the Bulldogs' 1,000-point club and played on the University of Kentucky's 1961-62 freshman basketball team. Hill also was a member of Maysville High School's 1959 region champion golf team.

    Bob Hutchison, a member of Maysville's 1958 state championship baseball team, is the winningest coach in the history of the Mason County Lady Royals basketball program. This interview was recorded in 2012.

    Ronnie Lyons is 2nd on the Mason County Royals' all-time scoring list. He scored a school-record 60 points in a win over Bourbon County in 1970. Lyons, also an outstanding baseball and softball player, was drafted by the NY Mets in 1970. Lyons played basketball for Adolph Rupp and Joe B. Hall at the University of Kentucky. He was inducted into to the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021.
