Coach Leslie Isaac is a coach, trainer, husband, father, friend, a great competitor and is all about love and positivity! He has represented his local club, Oxford Hoops (Operated by our mentor and club creator Franky Marulanda) as a National League youth basketball coach/trainer over the past few years and his winning record reflects his passion, expectations, and attention to details of the game not many are willing to display. We discuss how he grew up in a football (soccer) environment but did not fare well as a youth in the UK. Once introduced to basketball as an alternative, there was no turning back! Originally recorded in August 2024 (scheduled nearly two years ago), I'm finally joined by one of my very best friends and brothers, Coach Patrick Paul of Florence, South Carolina. He is an Air Force vet, author, coach, teacher/educator, Omega Psi Phi member, community leader, advocate, brother, son, uncle and most importantly, a friend. Welcome to Da Doe Spot Podcast! A Labor Day Weekend special! On this episode, I concluded my first full season with my podcast brother and recently acquired friend/neighbor,  @notsuperheroesjustdads  creator and host Shawn Lowry! Shawn arrived and made his presence known right away and I have not one complaint! Much of our current way of life is a direct result of something we either seen or have heard someone say or do. Too many folks have been negativity influenced and it's began to affect their families, and some have found the damage to be unrepairable! It truly makes us wonder why we think or behave this way and who our influences are? We are both fathers and men who did not have the ideal childhood or "ideal" route to where we are as educators and counselors, but we realize that these are what make us great at what we do. As we have our discussions on various topics, I want the audience to capture how two black men have allowed our faith to guide us to and through situations without blaming others for where we fell short or were unaware altogether. This is one of many that will be public, and we hope that our experiences and many others who are in these spaces can continue to express themselves but we whether we want to admit it or not, we need someone to lean on! Have you noticed the shift yet? Have you seen an uptick or experienced a decline in your engagement? How we feel about that? I ask these questions because trying to navigate through the w.w.n.n. (If you read "Get Honest or Die Lying" book by Charlamagne Tha God, you know exactly what I mean) and that my good people, can be an exhausting task, if you allow it to be! My solution when my brain starts to scramble is block out those non-existent voices and to keep doing ME! Do what got me here but also remember not to get stuck there because someone IS watching, and someone IS inspired.
