    That Hoverboard Sure Can McFly!

I felt like a simple, fun project so I created this 80s synthpop track inspired by recently watching the 'Back To The Future' movies. Enjoy! Created using Apple loops in Logic Pro X. ===== I sourced the image from WikiCommons: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Hoverboard_-_Back_to_the_Future_–_CeBIT_2016_01.jpg

    Null Ship For One

I had been thinking about Frank Herbert's No-Ships from his Dune books. I imagined myself alone in such a ship, invisible to the universe outside. I initially created a purely synth based track but wasn't satisfied with it, so I played around with various ambient Apple loop guitar sounds and then thought that the track sounded super chilled...I hope you like it. Visiting Earth (after all the humans are gone)

As is often the case, I was thinking (dreaming?) about the future. At the same time, and it's been a couple of months, I had an urge to create some music. It felt so natural to create music again, and so I hope that you enjoy this futuristic ambient dream. ------- Artwork: Abandoned Planet by yonaz (cropped by me): https://www.deviantart.com/yonaz/art/Abandoned-planet-797752294

    Deep, Dark and Dirty

I started work on this one before Christmas 2023, got distracted by life, and only just came back to it (mid Feb) when I added vocal loops. Enjoy, and get clubbing! ------ Artwork: 'Dark trippy ocean man' by AinvasArt: https://www.deviantart.com/ainvasart/art/Dark-trippy-ocean-man-980121291

    Relationship Entropy

Sometimes relationships decay, even when you don't want them to. I was going to try a vocal on this, but I couldn't find the words... This is a Novation Launchpad, ThumbJam (distant guitar), GarageBand (heavy rock guitar with reverb/echo - the 'dacca' sound) track, created October 2023, published after a few weeks (and a few tweaks) in November 2023. ----- Art: 'enTropy' by mimikascraftroom: https://www.deviantart.com/mimikascraftroom/art/enTropy-837592047

    The Captain and The Surgeon

A follow up track to my 'Aubrey's Surprise' track. https://soundcloud.com/dacca/aubreys-surprise One of my Apple loop creations, using Logic Pro on iPad Pro and final mix and production on my MacBook Pro. ---- Artwork cropped and given sepia treatment (by me) from this original photograph of the HMS Surprise replica ship. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:HMS_Surprise2%28c%29Ted_Rufus_Ross.JPG

Dying Alone In The Dark, at the Bottom of a Long Forgotten Dungeon

This is a track created for a very specific audience...you like dark fantasy, and dark ambient music, and RPGs. Or some such combination. In my mind I imagined my RPG adventurer dying alone in the dark at the bottom of a long forgotten dungeon...as many dungeon delving adventurers would... Then there's the long forgotten individuals to consider who actually DID die in such circumstances... I haven't posted this track on FB, Twitter, Apple Music, Spotify etc...cos, if it dies alone in the dark then that's rather fitting... All synths played by me. ----- Art cropped by me from here: https://pixabay.com/illustrations/skull-red-gothic-halloween-dark-2938770/

The Slow Windup Of Your Clockwork Heart

    Walk A Cursed Path

This is the third of three (planned) tracks from my E.P. "Walk Your Own Path". Who knows, I may feel inspired to add more! ------ Art cropped from here: https://pixabay.com/photos/dark-portal-fire-portal-man-night-5975248/ ------ Background track created in Blocs Wave, plus a few Alchemy synths, a hard rock guitar (with heavy resonance and echo) and a 'cavernous' amp metal guitar.

  12. 489

    Walk A Hard Path

The second track in my "Walk Your Own Path" E.P. One more to come.... -------- Backing track created by me using Blocs Wave, with four Alchemy synths and one hard rock guitar track (mixed/edited to four separate tracks, with different pan, echo, and resonance). -------- Art (cropped by me) from Dark Fantasy Ruins II by JJcanvas on DeviantArt: https://www.deviantart.com/jjcanvas/art/Dark-Fantasy-Ruins-II-w-process-time-lapse-603987489

  14. 487

    Drughead

We've all heard of Motörhead, Radiohead, Propellerheads and Portishead...fine British bands all! I've seen 3 of them...guess which ones in the comments! Welcome to Drughead! Backing track created using Novation Blocs Wave, with two digital iPad Pro metal guitar tracks played (one take, each) by me. I do love creating these dark industrial metal sounds. ----------- Artwork cropped by me from here: https://pixabay.com/illustrations/fantasy-dark-gothic-scifi-sci-fi-4134159/

    Interdimensional

Apologies for this brief interlude from another dimension. Normal service will resume shortly... ----- Art from here: https://pixabay.com/illustrations/ai-generated-surrealist-fantasy-7900640/ ----- Created using Logic Pro on an iPad Pro, using a mix of midi Dubstep instruments, Logic Pro hard rock guitar, and some Dubstep Apple loops.

    A Darkness Has Been Summoned

Another track created in Logic Pro for iPad. This one started the heavily distorted guitar sound towards the end of the track, and then I added multiple synth tracks, and a separate hard rock guitar track. For a similar track see With This Sacrifice The Elder Gods Return - https://soundcloud.com/dacca/with-this-sacrifice-the-elder ------- Art (resized by me, to become a square image) from here: https://pixabay.com/illustrations/ai-generated-dark-darkness-horror-7931508/

    Life Is Absurd

Life is short, and the universe is absurd. Embrace the absurd, and embrace life. Camus defines the absurd as “the conflict between the human tendency to seek inherent value and meaning in life, and the human inability to find any meaning in a purposeless, meaningless, and irrational universe, with the ‘unreasonable silence’ of the universe in response.” “Man stands face to face with the irrational. He feels within him his longing for happiness and for reason. The absurd is born of this confrontation between the human need and the unreasonable silence of the world.” ― Albert Camus, The Myth of Sisyphus and Other Essays https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absurdism https://bigthink.com/personal-growth/the-meaning-of-life-albert-camus-on-faith-suicide-and-absurdity/ ---- Image cropped from here: https://picryl.com/media/franz-von-stuck-sisyphus-43335d ---- My first track using Logic Pro for iPad.

    Heaviness Descends Like A Blanket

Sometimes darkness is a comfort, and dreams are all we have left. Heaviness and darkness belong together, in a long and warm embrace. Sometimes darkness is all that can heal the raw and aching rift. Sometimes heaviness is all that can bring you light, and lasting peace. ------- The image is cropped from here: https://www.pxfuel.com/en/free-photo-olked

    Pulsar Loves a Quasar

A pulsar (a type of neutron star) finds itself in the gravitational embrace of a quasar (a type of supermassive black hole)... and falls in love. A quasar is far more massive than a pulsar, so this can only end one way. It's a tale of an impossible, unrequited love...yet so strong is the attraction... ----- Image cropped from NASA JPL image here: https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/images/pia16114-quasar-drenched-in-water-vapor-artists-concept --------- 5 alchemy synths, upright bass, Liverpool bass guitar - GB on iPad Pro.

We Are Lucky To Be Born In The Age Of Stars

This is my tribute to the musical artist https://soundcloud.com/melodysheep. In particular, it's a track inspired by the incredibly humbling and beautiful video "Timelapse Of The Future" (91 million views, April 2023). I watch it 2-3 times a year, to remind myself how lucky I am. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uD4izuDMUQA ---------- Art (cropped) from here: https://www.publicdomainpictures.net/en/view-image.php?image=308781&picture=earth-in-space

  21. 480

    A Fragile Heart

Created in GarageBand using a mix of smart piano instruments, one smart 'fairytale bells' instrument and a few manually played synths. It's a gentle, sad, and beautiful track. I hope you like it. -------- Art from here: https://pixabay.com/illustrations/heart-glass-broken-crack-fragile-7424658/

  22. 479

Doomsday Clock (90 Seconds To Midnight)

The Doomsday Clock symbolises human-made global catastrophe, and in January 2023 it was set to 90 seconds to midnight (the closest to catastrophe that it's been). What better way to meet the end of the world than through rock? One of my Apple loop compositions / mixes. -------- Image taken from here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doomsday_Clock#/media/File:Doomsday_clock_(1.5_minutes).svg

    Engaging Dark Photon Drive

Dark matter, dark energy, dark photons...dark universe. Engage dark photon drive, let's go exploring! I felt it was time for another epic space metal anthem with the Star Nomads and some of my favourite Novation Launchpad pads, Novation Launchkey synths , and dacca guitar(see playlist). ------ Art cropped by me from the following image: Dark matter map of KiDS survey region (region G12) https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Dark_matter_map_of_KiDS_survey_region_%28region_G12%29.jpg

    It From Bit

"It from bit symbolizes the idea that every item of the physical world has at bottom — at a very deep bottom, in most instances — an immaterial source and explanation; that what we call reality arises in the last analysis from the posing of yes-no questions and the registering of equipment-evoked responses; in short, that all things physical are information-theoretic in origin and this is a participatory universe. " John Archibald Wheeler. Wheeler is said to have gone through three phases of thought (in order) in his physics career. 1) Everything is particles 2) Everything is fields and 3) Everything is information... --------- Art derived and altered (by me) from here: https://www.organism.earth/library/document/participatory-universe

Where Did The Last Two Years Go?

I've retired, renovated, separated, divorced, sold the family home, left Melbourne for remote country Victoria, renovated...its been a busy couple of years! Oh yeah, and we all got to experience COVID... ------- Art (cropped by me): Marco Verch, "Golden bokeh festive blurred background" https://www.flickr.com/photos/30478819@N08/50396719717

The Future Is In The Past

I've been absent for a couple of months as, for no declared reason, I couldn't upload tracks. All sorted now, so enjoy my little synth track! The title of the track references the feeling I get from 80s synthpop... it's way in the past but it still feels and sounds futuristic to me...just like the Tron movies. ------------ Art (cropped by me) from here: https://pixabay.com/photos/woman-face-light-painting-light-6194370/

A Gentle Rain Falls Upon The Mountain

I seem to be in the mood for ambient music these days, and was thinking about gentle rainfall upon a mountain (one with ferns!). All synths played by me. Image: Louis Docker - "Raindrop on a fern frond." https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Raindrop_on_a_fern_frond.jpg Cropped by me to get a square image.

    To Live A Life

To live a life is, quite frankly, hard. The longer that you live, the more people you've lost. But...it has its moments of beauty and poignancy and it's this mixture of emotions and feeling that I hoped to capture here. One of my Apple loop creations. ------- Photograph (edited by me) - David Coutts

    Crab Nebula

Here's a short excerpt of NASA's description of the beautiful Crab Nebula: "The combination of rapid rotation and a strong magnetic field in the Crab generates an intense electromagnetic field that creates jets of matter and anti-matter moving away from both the north and south poles of the pulsar, and an intense wind flowing out in the equatorial direction." ------------- Art (composite image - Chandra X-Ray / Hubble / Spitzer) - cropped by me from the original. https://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/chandra/images/a-crab-walks-through-time.html

    Looking Back In Time

This track was created using 6 Alchemy synths (two arpeggiated) with the artwork created by me using the art AI Midjourney bot on Discord (my first piece of Midjourney art). Inspired by astronomy which is...looking back in time.

  31. 470

    Shadows Of Intent

A cultist with dark intent loiters by a church at midnight, nearby might be the next target....but who is this young woman? Why is she walking alone at midnight? Surely she must be aware of the recent spate of gruesome murders... Is it a trap...who will actually be the victim here? -------- Art taken from here: https://pixabay.com/photos/fantasy-cloak-church-night-light-6211656/
