After a 2 year hiatus, I am proud to continue my journey at Skylab. I am even prouder to do it in partnership with my pal, and fellow Marina Boy, DJ Tropical Breeze (aka Josh). Together, we have produced many well regarded b2b mixes, including a couple for Skylab in the past. And with your support we can continue to bring depth, creativity and experience to skylab radio. Our first show back on the air is a strictly 100 bpm mix (our favourite tempo), an extension of Tropical Breeze’s 100 club series. More than half the tracks are played at the wrong speed, giving the mix an off kilter character. Despair disco for depressed times. Low bpms for slowed bodies. Wrong speed for a wrong world. This one is a journey through spoken-word house music of the late 80s and early 90s. This unique sub-genre of house music have always been a fascination of mine and I am very happy to share it with you all. It features many great spoken word and poetic tracks of the classic house era. There is also a tiny sprinkling of hip-house (sometimes its hard to separate the two styles).
