"Not So" DeepDives: 80's Melodic Rock & AOR
For this week's retro escape, I've chosen an episode from the tail end of the year 2021. These are definitely songs you know, probably like the back of your hand. While most of my episodes explore the out-of-the-way watering holes, this one is like going to the beach. Going to the beach with a helluva curated selection of 80's AOR, Melodic Rock, Hi-Tech, Westcoast, and Pop to enjoy. As far as my move to Prague is concerned, I'm getting packed and ready as I ever will be. I have less than two weeks left here in the States. 🫨 I hope you enjoy this different kind of Dive, and I'll see you back here next week for another blast from the Dives past! 👊🤘

DeepDives: (Retro) 80's Covers Monday Night Mix Tape
As my time here in Tampa grows short, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to complete the voiceovers I wanted to record for these next few shows. As I'm sending over my equipment next week, I've had to bank the next few weeks' shows until my first Dive in June, and recording four or five voiceovers just isn't feasible at the moment. Please accept my apologies, and I do hope you enjoy these next few dips into my musical past. This show you're about to hear is a different little beast. It was a Monday Mix Tape for BoomRadio back in 2020. As it was a special stand-alone show, I decided to do a "Not So Deep" Dive into the music of the 80's via covers. Enjoy, my friends, and I'll see you next week for another trip down memory lane. 🤘👊

DeepDives (Retro): AOR & Melodic Rock, 2000-2010
Welcome, my friends. I'm back with a retro episode from November of 2020. This episode marked my first time back behind the mic with BoomRadio💥💣after a short stint with Radioactive Radio. Listening to this Dive over the weekend while I worked on my move to Prague was an absolute joy for my ears, and I hope it's the same for yours. Have a great week, and I'll be back in seven-ish with another retro Dive. I can't wait to record my first brand-new episode sometime in the first half of June! 🤘👊

DeepDives: Bruce Springsteen - Covering Them
What a week it has been, and it's only just started. I felt inspired this week to make my first "New" Dive in a good couple of months. However, there is a catch...I didn't have time to create an intro and...wait for it...it's a very niche episode...Bruce Springsteen covering the global jukebox. Everything from Van Halen to The Clash. From The Temptations to AC/DC. From Elvis (Presley) to Creedence Clearwater Revival. From The Bee Gees to Prince. From Glen Campbell to David Bowie. I could go on and on, but I imagine you already get the picture. For good measure, I've salt-and-peppered in some of the songs he wrote for other artists who then went on to have huge hits with them themselves. I hope you enjoy another one of my "Off the Beaten Path" Dives. Take care, my friends, and I'll see you next week for another show. More than likely, it's going to be an archival episode. I'm getting down to the nitty and the gritty. I leave for Prague in five weeks. 👊🤘

DeepDives: 70's Melodic Rock, AOR & Hard Rock
For this week's classic retro Dive offering, we are diving off the waters of 70's Melodic Rock, AOR & Hard Rock. This episode was curated and created back in February 2021. Next week, we will be back with an episode focusing on some of the killer music produced over the last twenty years or so. At least that's what I'm thinking about at the moment. 😁 Take care, my friends, and I'll see you in a week's time. 🤘

DeepDives: 1980-1992 AOR, Melodic Rock & A Lot of West Coast
Here is this week's dive into the past, made way back in December of 2020. For this episode, I really lean into West Coast, be it straight-up traditional or with an AOR twist. Either way, I sure hope you enjoy this week's offering. I'll be back here next week for another classic DeepDives for your ears to enjoy. Have a great week, my friends! 🤘

DeepDives: 90's Melodic Rock & AOR
For this week's classic episode of Deep Dives, I've revisited a show I curated in the summer of 2020. An episode celebrating some of my favorite Melodic Rock & AOR from the decade. All the artists you enjoy in an 80's Dive are here making some outstanding music in a much-maligned decade. Enjoy my friends, and I'll see you back here next week for another classic DeepDives episode as I ready myself for the great adventure that awaits me in Prague. 🤘

DeepDives: Melodic Rock Mix Tape
This week's offering is bookended with two sets from the recently passed Chris Rea. One of my favorite musical artists, I discovered him properly in 1988 through his album, New Light Through Old Windows. After an opening two-song set from Rea, I play you a show I recorded back in 2021. For this episode, I just played songs and sets on the fly, hoping to create a listenable show in the process. I think I succeeded there if I do say so myself. After the episode, I curate a thirteen-song set in tribute to his musical genius. Chris could truly make his guitar sing. My friends, enjoy some of my favorite moments from his deep and rich catalog. 🤘

DeepDives: AOR, Melodic Rock & Hi-Tech - 1985-1993
This week's retro Dive is from January 14th, 2022. In this and future episodes until my first new Dive in Prague, I'll include a song before my newly recorded intro to set the tone. As with last week's offering, I let the show play out after the new introduction. I hope you enjoy this blast from the past. I'll see you back here next week for another episode of DeepDives, designed to delight your ears. 👊🤘

DeepDives: Melodic Rock, AOR, & Hi-Tech
Hello friends. I'm back with another Dive for your ears to enjoy. This episode was initially recorded in February 2022. “Reasonably” loaded, (back when I was friends with editing) 😁, with some killer Hi-Tech Melodic Rock & AOR for your ears to enjoy. As was the case last week, I recorded a new intro before the show kicked off properly. I’ll see you back here next week with another DeepDives blast from the past! 👊🤘

DeepDives: Eddie Van Halen Tribute Show
Hello there, my friends. This is coming much later than I would have liked, but...much earlier than I was thinking even this morning. Today I found an old laptop that contained all my Dive shows from 2019 to early 2023. I was truly wondering when I could get a new product out, as packing is a lot of work and just isn't leaving me the time I'd like to make a proper show for you. Now, with all these shows that were on an old platform, I can present them again with a brand-new intro at the top, and the episode following each week, until I settle into Prague this May. Enjoy, my friends, and I'll see you back here next week. 🤘

DeepDives: Led Zeppelin Inspired, 1972-1925
I'm finally back with a new #DeepDives, the first proper episode of 2026. I've used the monster band Led Zeppelin as inspiration. Some of these artists and bands might wear their influence a little more obviously than others, but it's all in there. Almost all of these artists have appeared in previous episodes, so if Led Zeppelin isn't your bag, there is still much on display to enjoy. I promise. These songs range from 1972 to today. I hope you enjoy, and I'll be back here with a brand-new episode for your ears within three weeks. We'll be back in the 80's. 👊🤘

DeepDives: Best Of 2025, Part Two
Happy New Year, my friends! As promised, here is the second hour of my "Best Of 2025 DeepDives". The offerings were so plentiful in 2025 that I decided to produce the show in two separate sections to allow the music to be heard in a more manageable listening experience. Enjoy over two and a half hours of the best new Melodic Rock, AOR, Hi-Tech, Westcoast, PowerPop, Pop & Hard Rock 2025 had to offer! I'll see you in a couple of weeks for the next Dive! 🤘

DeepDives: Best Of 2025, Part One
Happy New Year, my friends! I hope this finds each and every one of you doing well after a busy holiday season. As promised, I'm back with the first hour (part 😁) of my "Best Of 2025 DeepDives". The offerings were so plentiful in 2025 that I decided to produce the show in two separate sections to allow the music to be heard in a more manageable listening experience. All the genres are represented, if not all this hour, then in the next episode later in the week. I'll see you in a couple of days with part two. It's so good to be back for another year of shows! 🤘

DeepDives: AOR & Melodic Rock, 1982-1992
Here you go, my friends, the final Dive of 2025. We're back diving in the crystal-clear waters of 80s AOR & Melodic Rock, along with some Rock, Pop & Hi-Tech for good measure. I'll be back in early 2026 with a 'Best of 2025' episode for your enjoyment. Until then, have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year! Thanks for hanging out with me these last eight years! I'm just getting started! 🤘

DeepDives: The Return
After a few hit-and-miss weeks traveling to and from the Czech Republic I'm back with a proper DeepDives for your ears to enjoy as we're back in the fertile diving waters off the 1980s and early 1990s. This show was put together during one long plane ride from Zurich to Tampa. Holy cow, do I ever recommend choosing your own seat for long hauls like this. Trust me...Your ass will thank you. 😁 I'll be back in two weeks to lay my next escape onto your ears. In the meantime, enjoy almost five hours of primo AOR, Melodic Rock, Hi-Tech, and Westcoast curated by yours truly. 🤘

DeepDives: Ace Frehley Tribute Show
Two weeks ago I lost one of my greatest friends. On that same day I also lost one of my greatest musical heroes. This is an episode I never wanted to have to make. Certainly not under these circumstances. My friend James and I saw KISS back in '92 on the Revenge tour. Long after Ace had left the band and four years before he rejoined, only to leave once again in 2001. It was a terrific show but the memories I hold dearest about that night are not about the killer stage. They are not about the kick ass setlist. They are not about meeting the band before the gig. They are about a night of camaraderie with one of the greatest friends I have ever been blessed with. To say putting this show together was cathartic is an understatement. Time has a sinister way of shading what's really important in life. Jobs, commitments and general bullshit kept getting in the way of connecting like we used to. I wish I knew then what I know now. But, that's not how life works. The way it works is that you hopefully learn from your mistakes and regrets and move forward a wiser person. All of this is to say I miss my friend and while I may not have the time back that I lost I'll cherish the time with the friends that are still here all the more. Old and new. After Elvis Golden Records, KISS Alive was the second album I ever bought with my own money. The year was 1978, the summer between third and fourth grade. By the time 1979's Dynasty rolled around I had already bough most of the band's back catalog and I continued to buy each new album the week or day they were released. When the band splintered and new members replaced old members I bought each and every solo album from the former members. I say this with complete objectivity...no member of the band, original four or otherwise, released a grater collection of solo material than Ace Frehley. Not every album was a winner, I'm looking at you Second Sighting, but each one had at least a handful of outstanding songs on offer. For this episode I've curated my faveorite Ace Frehley songs across his 51 year career. I've chosen songs from the very first KISS album, 1974's self titled debut through to the final project in Aces's lifetime, 2004's 10,000 Volts. These songs have brought me joy and they will continue to do so for the rest of my days. Here's to James and Ace! Both one of a kind! Both dearly missed. 🤘

DeepDives: A Little Traveling Music
After a month long break DeepDives is back with a show built around the theme of "Traveling". As I'm broadcasting from the beautiful city of Prague here in the Czech Republic, I thought that particular theme would be most appropriate. All the regular Dive genres are represented spanning the late 60's through today. So sit back and enjoy some traveling music, Dives style. I'll be back here next week with a tribute show dedicated to the late great Ace Frehley. 🤘

DeepDives: Disco Dance Party, Round II
Once again, I bring to your ears a collection of Disco songs you'll be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. It's been two years since my last Disco Dance Party, and I knew it was time to drop down that old glitter ball! As in round one, there are certainly some ringers, but even then, they are mostly special 12" mixes. covers and album tracks. I've also salt and peppered both sets with more contemporary songs inspired by those bell-bottom years. I hope you enjoy this show as much as I enjoyed making it! I'll see you next Dive for a little traveling music. 🤘

DeepDives: September 8th, 2025 - 1983-1993
I'm back, my friends, with another round of DeepDives for your ears to enjoy. This week we're back in the 80s. 1983 through 1993, to be exact. AOR, Melodic Rock, Hi-Tech, Rock & Hard Rock are on today's menu. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it for you. I'll see you in a couple weeks' time, my friends. Until then, keep on keeping on! 🤘

DeepDives, 80's Melodic Rock, 1983-1993
I'm back, my friends, with a sonic buffet for your ears to devour. This episode of Dives is jam-packed with Melodic Rock goodness. There are some Rock and Pop. A taste of Heartland. A heaping helping of AOR and we bit of Westcoast. I hope you enjoy, and I'll see you back here for the next new episode in a couple of weeks. 🤘
-
78
DeepDives: 80's Melodic Rock Extravaganza
After a couple of weeks' break, I'm back with a brand-new episode for your ears to enjoy. We're in the 80s, 1983 through 1992 to be exact. I've included just about every genre of Melodic Rock for this show. AOR, Hard Rock, Pop, Hi-Tech, and WestCoast are all represented. I had a ton of fun curating this one, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it. I'll see you in two weeks for the next DeepDives, my friends. 🤘

DeepDives: AOR & Melodic Rock - Round II (2000-2024)
I'm back with a brand new episode of DeepDives for your ears to enjoy. Before the show starts properly, I pay tribute to The Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away today at 76. He's shown up on more than a few occasions here on Dives & he will be missed. Afterwards, it's on to the show I had planned for you...filled with AOR, Melodic Rock, Westcoast, Synthwave & Pop. I hope you enjoy & I'll be back in a couple of weeks with an 80's show. Have a wonderful rest of July, my friends & I'll return the week of August 11th. 🤘
-
76
DeepDives: AOR & Melodic Rock, 2000-2022
After a week off, I'm back with a new episode of Dives spanning 2000 through 2022. I've jam-packed this episode with AOR, Melodic Rock, WestCoast, and Synthwave for your ears to enjoy. Sit back and let me take you on an excursion through some of my favorite songs released across the last 25 years.
-
75
DeepDives: AOR & Melodic Rock, 1983-1992
After a couple of episodes in some different waters I've sailed us back to a much more familiar diving hole, 1980's Melodic Rock and AOR. 1983 through 1992 to be specific. This episode is filled with songs I've not played in years along with several you haven't heard at all on a Dive. Sit back, enjoy a cold one and enjoy some of the best music on God's good earth. I'll see you next week, my friends. 🤘

The DeepDives Tribute to Brian Wilson
Last week we lost one of my musical heroes, Brian Wilson. Ever since I put to bed last week's Live Dive, I've been listening to Brian's music pretty much nonstop. I thought I'd wait to put out a tribute show celebrating Brian's music, but my ears and heart just wouldn't let me. So, it's with a heavy heart equally full of sadness for the loss and gratitude for the music he left behind that I curated this episode. I decided to focus on the music he put out in the 80's all the way through to 2021. Just about everyone knows the hits. Not everyone knows these deep dives into his oeuvre. Thank you for indulging me this week and I'll be back next week for a regular episode for your ears to enjoy. In the meantime, I hope you take a listen and in turn enjoy the next three plus hours of a musical genius hard at work. He will be missed.

DeepDives: Live, Summer 2025
Here's my latest escape. For this episode of DeepDives I've collected some of my favorite live songs pulled from decades of concerts both common and quite hard to find. I've taken great care in sequencing these songs as to flow in and out of each other creating (hopefully) a most enjoyable listening experience. Look for a tribute to the late great, Brian Wilson at the top of the show. Also look for a special episode of Dives next month focusing on the genius Brian Wilson's oeuvre has on offer. My friends, I hope you have a great week, and I'll see you in seven with a brand new episode for your ears to enjoy! 🤘

72
DeepDives: Hot Ones
As the start of summer is just around the corner later this month I thought now would be a good time to put out the sequel to January's Cold Ones Dive. All the songs revolve around the theme of 'Heat". 🔥 All the usual DeepDives formats are in here spanning the years 1979 through 2022. I hope you enjoy, my friends and I'll see you back here next week for a brand new episode for your ears to enjoy. 🤘
-
71
DeepDives: AOR & Melodic Rock, 1982 - 1995
My friends, here's this week's offering. A 1982 through 1995 Dive featuring AOR, Melodic Rock, Hard Rock, Hi-Tech & a smidge of WestCoast. This was a fun episode to put together. I added a few songs that might not necessarily be all that deep but they sure aren't ones you'll hear on the radio that's for sure. I hope you enjoy, and I'll see you back here next week for a brand new DeepDives. I'm thinking about a "Hot Ones" episode. 🤔🤘

DeepDives: Hi-Tech AOR, Melodic Rock & Pop - 1984 - 1994 (Corrected)
This is the corrected version of this week's show. I played the wrong, Living In A Box, song and that mistake was driving me nuts. 😁 After a week spent playing WestCoast I was chomping at the bit to transition into some Hi-Tech. This episode has a little bit of Hi-tech everything, all between the years 1984 through 1994. Hi-Tech AOR, Melodic Rock, Classic Rock, Pop & R&B. These are the salad years of Hi-Tech, and everyone was dipping a toe into its sounds. You're going to be surprised at some of the artists you'll find in this week's show. My friends, I hope you enjoy, and the good Lord willing and the creek don't rise I'll see you back here next week for a brand new Dive for your ears to enjoy. 🤘

DeepDives: Hi-Tech AOR, Melodic Rock & Pop - 1984 - 1994
After a week spent playing WestCoast I was chomping at the bit to transition into some Hi-Tech. DeepDives: WestCoast-ish II
Here's another round of some of my favorite WestCoast songs spanning the last six decades, from 1977 through to just a couple of weeks ago. Some might say they don't make music like this anymore. I hope with this episode I'll be able to prove those folks wrong. Enjoy, my friends and I'll see you next week for another Dive for your ears to enjoy. 🤘
-
67
DeepDives: Melodic Rock & AOR, 2000 - 2024
I hope you enjoyed last week's show because we're heading back to dive the same waters. The same genres apply: Melodic Rock, AOR, West Coast, Synthwave, Hard Rock & a wee smidge of Pop. All between the years 2000 through 2024. I hope you find this week's offering to your liking, my friends.🤘 Have a great week and I'll see you in seven-ish. 👊

DeepDives: Melodic Rock, 2002 - 2023
It's been a hot minute since we've dived off the waters of the first twenty years of the new millennium, 2002 through 2023 to be exact. AOR, Melodic Rock, Powerpop, Synthwave, Hard Rock, Pop & Rock are all spots we'll be diving too. Get your flipper, goggles and wetsuit and let's go for a Dive! 🤘
-

DeepDives: Ladies' Night, 1971 - 2025
I'm back with a Ladies's Night episode of DeapDives for your ears to enjoy. 🎶 This week every song features a lady's name in the title. Most of the time it's the only word in the title. For specialty themed shows I typically relax the song and artist paramotors and this episode was no exception. These are mostly artists that have made plenty of Dives appearances in previous episodes but as the usual I've added plenty of surprises into the mix. Some recently played artists are making a quicker than usual return and not all of the songs reside in the same depths of water. It's all part of the special sauce I like to use for themed episodes like, Ladies' Night. Enjoy my friends. I'll see you back here next week for a more traditional episode. 🤘🤙

DeepDives: Polished AOR & Melodic Rock Round III, '83-'93
Enjoy my friends. Here's the third part in an unintentional three-part series exploring the harder side of Dives. Last week I had a cataract removed from my left eye. Next week the right eye gets its turn. I'm not getting older, I'm just getting better. 😁 While this week I'm able to bring to you a new show, next week we'll be dark Rest assured I'll be working on the following weeks show. See you in two weeks' time, everyone. 🤘
-
63
DeepDives: Polished AOR & Melodic Rock Round II, '82-'92
Here's another Dive off the waters of Polished AOR & Melodic Rock. This week we're keeping it between the navigational buoys of 1982 and 1992. Once again, while the guitars may not be dialed up to eleven, they are just a tad more raucous than even the last week's excursion. My friends, I hope you enjoy, and I'll see you in seven days! 🤘
-
62
DeepDives: Polished AOR & Melodic Rock, 1980-1994
After taking an unexpected week off I'm back with a new episode for your ears to enjoy. Good lord willing, and the creek she don't rise, that will be the last break for the foreseeable future. I've had enough surprises for 2025. 🤣 This week's Dive has the guitars cranked up, if not to eleven, then at least a moderate eight, with AOR and Melodic Rock spanning the years, 1980 through 1994. I'll see you next week, my friends with a brand-new show. 🤘
-

DeepDives: AOR/Melodic Rock, 1994-2006
Hello, my friends. This week was so busy for me I wasn't able to put together a proper show. However, I do want to to have something for your ears to enjoy. Here is an episode from August of, 2021. It was on the old hosting sight for Dives and hasn't been heard, unless you downloaded it, for a good three years. This Dive is loaded with Melodic Rock & AOR between the years, 1994 through 2006. I WILL be back with a fresh episode next week. Thats's a promise. 🤘
-

DeepDives: Good Acoustics
Here is this weeks, "Good Acoustics" DeepDives. This episode is filled with Dives artists turning down the amps, for the most part, and letting roll with some awesome melodies that, in this format, truly get the chance to shine. I hope you enjoy this slight change of pace and I'll be back next week with the guitars cranked up to, eleven. 🤘
-

DeepDives: Love Gone Wrong, 1981-2019
This week I'm highlighting some of my favorite, love gone wrong songs, served up Dives style. Once again, most of my favorite Dive genres are represented. I hope you enjoy this companion show to last week's Valentine episode. I'll be back next week with some, Good Acoustics. 🤘

DeepDives: Valentine Show, Dives Style
As promised, here is this week's Valentine DeepDives. We're diving between the years, 1972 through 2022 and all the Dives genres are here, with a majority of the songs being from the 1980's. While this week is all about "Love", next week it's, "Love....Gone Wrong's turn. I enjoyed putting this episode together for you, my friends. I hope your ears enjoy it as much as mine do. ❤️🤘💕

DeepDives: Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Live
I'll be here later this week with my Valentine show but, in the meantime, here is a Bruce Springsteen live Dive from 2021 back when Dives was out on a different platform. Sadly, those shows didn't make the trip over here to Podbean. i hope some of you out there will enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed making it. I'll see you later in the week. 🤘

DeepDives: Seven Decades of PowerPop
This is one behemoth of a show! Seven decades Of PowerPop from so many of the artists I love to play on, DeepDives. I hope you enjoy this show half as much as I enjoyed making it. See you next week, my friends! 🤘
-

Here is a new DeepDives featuring at least fifty percent new songs as well as another half that haven't been played for at least a year, Enjoy, my friends. I wanted to hit the ground running for 2025. I'll see you next week for some PowerPop.🤘
-
53
DeepDives: Cold Ones
Being that this is the first proper new show of 2025 I thought an episode based around the theme of cold songs would be most appreciate. I hope you enjoy, my friends and I'll see you back here next week for an 80's AOR Melodic Rock Dive. 🤘

DeepDives: 80's Hard Rock & Glam
Happy New Year, my friends. This week I'm revisiting a Dive from 2021. I was asked last week about any harder episodes that might feature some Glam, Hard Rock and Metal. To my surprise I realized I haven't recorded a show along those lines in over three and a half years. While it's not a new episode it is new to many ears. I'll be back with a best of 2024 DeepDives next week. Enjoy the rest of 2024 and be safe! 🤘
