2 The Front

Mar (they,them,elle) is an undocumented trans multidisciplinary artist with roots in the Andes and the Amazonian Rainforest. With a background in environmental protection and mutual aid in the four-corners region, Mar is dedicated to building liberatory intergenerational spaces that foster a connection to nature, to each other, to the land that we are on, and to the communities whose land we are on. Mar is a collective member of May Day Space and the founder of Frontline Apothecary. They are currently studying horticulture and urban gardening in Lenapehoking (so-called New York City). 

Beze (they/them) is from Aamjiwnaang First Nation. An Anishinaabe community located in what is colonially known as Canada's 'Chemical valley'. As a two-spirit, queer, non-binary person they maintain their traditional knowledge of hide tanning and medicine harvesting as well as advocate for justice for the harms of ongoing colonialism. Particularly the environmental racism of the chemical and refining industries in their traditional territory.

Xochitl is originally from the Tenochtitlán area. I ask them about their identity as a 2 Spirit warrior and what it means to them.
