Episode 5: Noir
Noir was a highly influential and active figure in the early 2010s (and beyond). I'm so grateful the Danish artist honoured me with his presence for this latest episode of the 2010s Rave Archives podcast. In an exclusive, and rare, audio interview Noir talks me through some of the pivotal moments during that golden period, reflecting on his experiences pre-2010s before getting right into the nitty gritty. From his now-classic track 'Around' (with Haze) and Solomun's timeless remix, to his label Noir Music, the legendary podcast Noir Recommends and his global touring, Noir was the catalyst behind a lot of great musical moments in the 2010s. He championed a lot of artists who defined the era; Hot Since 82, Larse, Nice7, Finnebassen... and his hard work, creativity and vision were crucial to the evolution of the music scene back then.He also speaks candidly about hitting a low point during the pandemic, logging off social media and experiencing panic attacks with all the madness of global touring catching up with him. A humble, yet successful and very inspiring character, it was a joy to have Noir on the podcast. Episode 4: Luca C
Luca C joins me for his very first extended conversation about the 2010s and beyond. I'm so honoured that Luca agreed to this. We've known each other for a long time now, but even so, recording a podcast and talking about your life, especially the more personal stuff, is a big step if it's not something you've done much of before. Luca's music career and output is incredible - from his early years in bands, DJing on the side, touring the world with Cazals - even supporting Daft Punk. To his prolific electronic music exploits: with Brigante, as Infinity Ink with Ali Love, and as one quarter of Hot Natured, plus much much more. He's got lots of stories, lots of history to share and he does it all in such an engaging and articulate way. Dare I say, one of the best episodes so far. Episode 3: Ben Pearce
Episode 3 features a true gent of electronic music - Ben Pearce. I first heard of Ben through his good friend Stretford Dogs Club (AKA Andy), who was a big supporter of Ben's music. I used to chat with Andy a lot around 2011, and he put me on to Ben's breakthrough track 'What I Might Do' way before most people even knew it. The first time I heard it I knew it was going to be big. And it ended up going HUGE! I've spent time with Ben over the years and he's always been the same humble, honest guy. Very down to earth and a devoted music lover through and through. He's a real one.Enjoy and sign up to the mailing list for early listens and extra treats --> https://form.jotform.com/253575864906370

Episode 2: Danny Daze
Miami G Danny Daze joined me for a insightful chat about his breakthrough into the underground house scene in 2011 (15 years ago!) with 'Your Everything'. Danny had already achieved success in a different scene, but 'Your Everything' changed his life when it blew up. With his grounding in electro and IDM, as well as Miami Bass, freestyle and much more, it took a lot of work to get himself out of the "deep house" pigeonhole he got put into. Loved this chat. Danny keeps it real every single time, a seriously great DJ, and equally skilled producer who knows his music inside out and is still a very busy, and highly respected, touring artist all these years later.Enjoy and sign up to the mailing list for early listens and extra treats --> https://form.jotform.com/253575864906370

Episode 1: Francesca Lombardo
One of the Queens of the 2010s, Francesca Lombardo joins me for a lovely chat about her life in music. From her early years dreaming of becoming a singer, to moving to London in 1999, becoming a DJ and her rise to prominence in the 2010s with Crosstown Rebels. We also discuss what she's up to now, living a quieter life in France and enjoying Motherhood.
