Elihu
Elihu GL Groenewald (2025) SPOKEN WORD: Then Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, burned with anger. He burned with anger at Job because he justified himself rather than God. He burned with anger also at Job's three friends because they had found no answer, although they had declared Job to be in the wrong (from Job 32:2-3). CHORUS 1: Elihu, You revealed the Word of God, The words of truth with clarity in true humility; Elihu, You listened carefully, When God speaks We receive His words prayerfully. 1: God knows the end from the beginning, His will prevails all the time in every age; No creature can outwit God at any stage, We are just clay Being molded everyday In the Potter’s hands. CHORUS 2: Elihu, You showed there’s a time to speak, The words of God with clarity in true humility; Elihu, You showed us not to fret, That God will speak With power in the time He set. 2: God foreknew everything and everyone, Even His chosen elect Before the foundation of this world; He will conform them first To the image of His Son; Those He will justify, them He will also glorify. CHORUS 3: Elihu, You taught us how to speak, The words of God with clarity in true humility; Elihu, You taught us not to fight, That God will answer With fire when the time is right. MUSIC BRIDGE: Human reasoning is filled with pride, Self righteous points fingers In its blind arrogance; Always wanting flattering words To feed the fool; O wretched man, Miserable, poor, blind, and naked. CHORUS 4: Elect in Christ, You reveal the words of God, His words of truth with clarity in true humility; Church in Christ, You declare the greatness of God, You are His light, His holy city For all to see.
