A Mustang Story

A Mustang Story tells the tales of Mustangs and their people, from trainers to riders, from the range to the classroom, from children to Veterans. It all began in 2021. Take a young woman with a passion for horses looking for a grand adventure, add American Mustangs and a host of guest riders and you have the ingredients for the “Mustang Discovery Ride.” The documentary tells the story of a journey across the United States on the American Discovery Trail (ADT) featuring Mustang trainer, Lisanne Fear, along with her Mustangs, dogs and support team. The docuseries and podcast follow up with some of the struggles and triumphs encountered on the trail, most attributed to the kindness of strangers met along the journey. We feature Mustang adoptions through The Mustang Summit, college and university equine programs utilizing Mustangs, Veterans Programs in existence and other Mustang-related stories.

The Mustang Summit
The Mustang Summit was first introduced in Sacramento CA at the end of the Mustang Discovery Ride. The Ride had just ended and the group of friends, family and fellow riders/trainers all stayed in town for the EQUUS Film & Arts Fest the following week. Founder and Director Lisa Diersen had the idea of pooling these Mustang enthusiasts to provide a weekend of education in addition to the film screenings and author/artist presentations. The Mustang Summit developed from that first opportunity of Mustang demos to a full-fledged adoption event and training experience. Summits have been held across the country, partnering Sale Authority and Yearling Adoptees with some of the top Mustang Trainers in the country. FearLis Mustangs: After the Ride
In this first episode of A Mustang Story, we follow Lisanne Fear and her experience reintegrating into society after the Mustang Discovery Ride. As Lisanne returns home to Pinedale Wyoming with the herd, she reconnects with high school friend James. While their relationship is blooming, she is also dealing with anxiety and depression. Filling in as a ski instructor around her old stomping grounds, she also works on a plan for participation in events across the country, continuing her efforts to bring Mustangs to a new audience.
