Episode 4 - Learning disabilities, diagnostic overshadowing and Special Olympics (Alistair Beverley)

In this episode I sat down with Alistair Beverley (the LD physio), a specialist physiotherapist with extensive experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs, as well as being involved in Special Olympics GB as both a physiotherapist and with the healthy athlete screening programme. We discuss the challenges of working in this role, along with how rewarding it can be to work in this area, along with the important topic of diagnostic overshadowing and why this is something every physiotherapist needs to be aware of. Episode 3 - Working in critical care (Sam Monks)

In this episode I discussed the experience of working in critical care with Sam Monks, a senior lecturer with significant experience of working in acute care as a physiotherapist. We discussed not only what the critical care environment is like and the role of physiotherapy in that speciality, but also how to prepare for a student placement or new rotation in that area.
