ATB produces daily content including a musical vlog, their popular cover series “Pick Up & Play” now in its fifth season, a musical cooking show, acoustic jam show and a “Caravan Karaoke” series—collaborating with artists from across North America and internationally as active producers and performers of independent musical content. The band have taken the role of “rockers & vloggers” to new heights, with a solid social medial footprint, a rapidly growing global fan base, and an increasingly diverse discography and videography for viewers, listeners and fans of this band of multi-instrumental diversely talented Canadian musicians. Across The Board has won Best Rock Song 2018 from The Indie Music Channel, two Gold Medals from the Global Music Awards for Best Song and Best Album (Rock) as well as being nominated for 4 Josie Music Awards, and the recipient of Indie Music Channel’s Hall of Fame award for Charting #4 on the iTunes Rock Charts with their single “Sonic Boom” in September of 2018. ATB has had music videos accepted to international film festivals including their newest single “No Curtain Call” which will be played at the upcoming “James Bond III Film Festival” in Kentucky. ATB was nominated for a Canadian Gospel Music Association Covenant Award (the Canadian counterpart to the American Dove Awards), and has won awards for been involved in several charitable projects, including “She’s Listening- In Support of Ovarian Cancer Canada” and “Indigal-The Canadian Female Independent Artist Collective”. As a female-fronted Canadian rock band, Across The Board has been making waves in and outside of Canada and continues to bring their unique harmonic indie rock sound to both terrestrial and internet radio, television and streaming services worldwide. Rock opera by Canadian Rockers – ACROSS THE BOARD – Hit “Sonic Boom” With The First Single Off Their New Album—#4 on iTunes Rock Charts Sept 10, 2018 "SONIC BOOM" is the title track off the new album by Canadian rockers Across The Board (ATB), written as the opening song in their third album which chronicles the breaking of a rock band and the highs and lows on the road to success through a Rock Opera journey. We wrote the track he title track as that moment in a young person’s life when they throw caution to the wind, and set out on their pie in the sky musical journey—no holds barred, full speed ahead, with all the dedication, determination and drive of a wide-eyed kid. The song pulls on influences from bands like U2 and the Cranberries, Broken Social Scene and Oasis. The title track “SONIC BOOM” was in fact the first song I wrote for the album-it describes the indie musician’s dream of a successful music career and sets the stage for the journey-- “No one’s gonna stand in my way, take the sun from my day, try to rain on my parade—can you hear my sonic boom?!”. As a kind of innocent determination, the single sets the stage for rest of the rock opera which takes reader along for the musical ride, Act by Act. I pictured the listener’s journey through the album like a piece of musical theatre—with a story, a heroine, and the trials and tribulations of a musical climax and anticlimax. The story is set in the small farming community outside of Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) where Auguste grew up. As a young musician, Auguste dreamed of taking her music to the ‘big city’ and the album echoes her journey by rail to Toronto where she eventually meets the characters who will either try to steal her dream, or help her succeed.
