There is an evil in this world that seeps into the very soul of artists around the globe. This poison has destoryed the careers of some of the finest men and women that we have had the pleasure and the outrage to share the stage and screen. This Evil's name? The Critic. Our fascination with the dead extends back thousands of years. This underworld in which we cannot see, this world we cannot be sure of, this world in which, if the ancients are to be believed, is where your soul is weighed against the feather, and a judgment is made on if the virtuous should pass on into heaven. The unfortunate souls head south, down the River Styx, and into the underworld where souls are lost forever… but, every so often, this world of flesh and blood is visited by those who have passed on… but not found their final resting place. With any great culture comes its Golden Age. The Golden Age of Athens in the 5th century BC or the Italian Renaissance of the 16th century, or the roaring twenties of Jazz New York. In any Golden age, no matter the culture, one sees an increase in productivity, in prosperity, scientific achievement and, through art, perhaps, a gateway to the soul. Not many live through one, and even fewer take part; but, in our case, we did both, baby. We must consider ourselves the lucky ones. Contact: [email protected] / [email protected]

In any walk of life, one needs good friends; but one better be damn sure of one’s enemies. Friendships, like Candide & Cacambo, David & Johnathan, Raoul Duke & Dr Gonzo serves as the solid ground for our weary feet. Adversaries, like Brutus & Caesar, or Othello & Iago, like Ahab & The Great Whale or Santiago and the Great Marlin, push us to the very limits of our will and our sanity. The Jungles of Cambodia, or the icy plains of Alaska, or, perhaps, the savannah of mother Africa would make for a more safe environment than the pit of vipers that is Soho, London. Like any great Ancient Myth, that rises up from the desert sands, like Babylon, or emerges from the deepest seas, like the Library of Alexandria, or, like the recent discovery of the Gates of Troy, Ancient Myth, in an instant, becomes reality, and, I suppose, this phenomena has occurred again today, and what has emerged on this occasion is Christian Nouveau & Phillip Carpenter Jones, once myth, now, once again a historical reality. I suppose, Phillip, this is why we are doing this podcast, this is why we are recording the premier of After Dark… to let the world know that we did indeed exist, and we are indeed back and ready to rock, and ready to roll.
