What a way to wrap up the Alaska high school sports season! In this episode, Keaton, Isaiah and Brad dive into the thrilling action from the State Softball and Baseball Tournaments, where the Sitka Wolves put on a show for the ages. Sitka claimed the D1 Baseball State Championship and the D2 Softball title, with their softball squad going back-to-back as state champs! Even more impressive—three pitchers in three games got it done on the mound for Sitka baseball. Talk about dominant depth.Meanwhile, Soldotna made history with their fourth straight D2 Baseball title—a dynasty run as they now prepare to move up to Division I next season.In softball, the South Anchorage Wolverines captured their second D1 title in four years, pulling off a wild extra-inning win in the “If Game” over Chugiak. A classic finish that had fans on the edge of their seats!As we close the books on the 2024-25 high school season, it’s worth noting: fall sports practices start July 28th—right around the corner. No rest for Alaska’s student-athletes!And in junior hockey news, the Anchorage Wolverines have hired Mike Aikens as their new head coach. Aikens returns to the bench after leading the Wolverines to the Robertson Cup Final in their inaugural season, finishing with an impressive 33-19-4 record.
