Am I Doing It Right?

We made a crazy life decision this week, and announce a pretty big purchase made in this episode! A lot of people will have an opinion on this decision, but for us, it was the right one. Also, Mike shares arguably the most embarrassing story about himself that he's EVER shared publicly! Finally, why we make no apologies for being Summertime Scrooges!

We have SO much to catch up on! It's been a busy couple of weeks in the Kellar household. First, Mike's Dad visited us from Florida, and we have to tell you about his wild Saturday night. Then, fresh off of a 6-hour drive back to Kansas City, Mike shares stories from a wonderful weekend with old friends in Illinois, and the surprise reason Katie wasn't there.

After our first attempt failed miserably, we're back at the newest, most awesome store in downtown Lee's Summit, Team Cocktail! In this episode, we have an invited guest (Lyndsey) and an uninvited guest (a giant pimple on Mike's face!) We also have a Chandler story that EVERY parent can relate to, and how we might be on Netflix in 2025!

Sometimes the best conversations aren't planned! We had no intention of going down the rabbit hole that is the MCU for this episode, but we ended up having a really fun conversation! And the best part, you can agree, disagree... it doesn't matter! Also, what does Mike want for Father's Day, and why does the chicken taste like soap?

We were so excited to record this episode to tell you all about our friend Jordan! Seven years ago, Jordan was the maid of honor at our wedding. Fast forward to today, and it was time for Katie to return the favor. As a bonus, our daughter Chandler was asked to be a flower girl!!! Join us as we recap a fun, memory-filled weekend!

As we prepare to take the pod OUT OF THE BASEMENT, we share some incredible stories of how crazy it is when people pop into your lives at certain times. With the weather getting warm, we are officially in our daughter Chandler's scraped knee era, and why that's a GOOD thing! The surprise that Katie found in our daughter's daycare bag, and how Katie doesn't like surprises, lead our conversation. Also, Mike's inner nerd discovered the origin of the Chevrolet bowtie logo. Finally, habits we've picked up from our significant others, both good and bad!

Don't let the title fool you, the reason behind this episode's title isn't kinky at all. Mike has an announcement which leads to a story involving handcuffs, but get your mind out of the gutter! Also, Katie visits CPKC Stadium, home of the NWSL's Kansas City Current. Mike shares his secret to never having a bad experience at the DMV, and Katie has a bone to pick with "kids these days".

Our daughter's disaster with a new toy, a revelation on how to heat up your food, and yes, the biggest topic in Kansas City right now... stadiums. Are THEY doing it right? It depends on who you ask...

A day of celebration turned into a day of tragedy during the Kansas City celebration parade on Valentine's Day 2024. As parents of a one-and-a-half year old, we looked at this incident through a different lens than before. We discuss it here. Also, the struggle of getting out of the house when you're so cozy, and our differing opinions on Beyonce's country song "Texas Hold 'Em".
